The paper shows that the management of ethics in the academic environment is the coordination of all elements related to the moral life of a university. The last decades have insistently imposed on public awareness the importance of taking into account the ethical dimension of the life of universities. Ethical codes, ethics committees, ethical audits, ethical education of staff, techniques to create an institutional culture of a moral nature have all become increasingly widespread. "Institutionalization of ethics" in academia is a new reality for which we must be prepared. The University is an institution whose goals, valid for each of its members, include development and professional affirmation, the evolution of knowledge and research in the conditions of respect for the rule of law and human rights. The University respects the dignity of each of its members and promotes academic integrity on ethical principles. Its members are committed to contributing to the democratic development and prosperity of society. We think that the values and principles that universities promote in particular, and whose actual achievement is sought to ensure, are: academic freedom, personal autonomy, justice and equity, merit, professionalism, honesty and intellectual integrity, transparency, respect and tolerance, responsibility, goodwill and care. We are firmly convinced that if in Romania these principles of academic management are applied in good faith, then the standard of education and respect throughout the academic life will increase.

This paper presents, within the framework of the Degree in Sociology of the University of A Coruña (Spain), an evaluation system based on a methodological triangulation that has enabled an in-depth analysis of the different dimensions of the Degree Practicum. Namely, we have achieved some conclusions about: (a) the students' perception of the adequacy between the Practicum, the Degree and the "sociological activity" of the internship centers; (b) the students’ evaluation of skills, learning results and the "sociological vocation" of the centers; and (c) the students’ appraisal of features of the Practicum related to personal experience. From these evidences, improvement measures of this particular subject are illustrated. Such measures may be of interest within the scope of the academic management of the Degrees in Sociology.

This case study examines the use of committees to develop a Web content management system in an academic library. It explains the process undertaken at the University of Oklahoma Libraries (libraries.ou.edu) to move from an HTML to a database-driven Web site and the issues involved with using committees to steer such projects. Creating a framework where librarians use locally developed content management tools to control Web site content while the systems office retains control of the presentation of content is also discussed. Another aspect of the case study includes the evolution of Web committees in the organization, the development of a system-wide philosophy, and the gradual acceptance of the Web site as a service that demands continual attention. The authors hope readers will benefit from these experiences when implementing similar projects.

In the Czech Republic, Knowledge Management-related problems occur at all knowledge stages with difficulties more predominant at an organisational level. In principal, they originate from the lack of an utilisable and detailed KM implementation methodology; varying perceptions of KM coupled with the notion, that KM equates and is limited to information technologies and the like. As a reaction to these problems, the Faculty of Informatics and Management at the University of Hradec Králové (FIM UHK) developed a new KM implementation methodology. It aims to provide interested parties with a set of ground rules distributed among a number of phases. Further development is underway to elaborate the method by integrating project management tools, benchmarking exercises and critical success factors. Despite this endeavour, there is an on-going need for further research given the reality that small and medium sized enterprises constitute the majority of organisations in the Czech Republic.

The purpose of this study is to examine the potential of the virtual construction site as a tool of knowledge management on technological processes of construc-tion production at the university. A digital paradigm that ensures the unity of in-novative and smart technologies in construction education and improves knowledge management tools has become the methodological basis. The authors present the criteria for the effectiveness of teaching technological processes with the help of virtual construction site (digital, professional, personal). The guide-lines for teaching students to make a technological map in construction are pro-posed. The levels of knowledge of modern digital technologies are presented. The practical significance of the study is to present the experience of teaching techno-logical processes using digital content. The social significance lies in the for-mation of a sustainable orientation of students towards the digitalization of con-struction production. Originality of research consists in substantiation of virtual construction site as the effective tool of knowledge management.

Psychologist are the representatives of a profession in which a wellbeing of a person is the paramount. Helping activity requires of psychologists to follow not only professional ethics but also moral norms. Not rarely do psychologists face the necessity to consider moral dilemmas connected with the practice of delivering psychological services. In such cases, a psychologist should be able to use not only professional knowledge, but also a moral competency allowing him or her to put in practice the assumptions of autonomous morality which is in agreement with his or her personal and professional identity. It is hard to find formal programs of stimulation of moral competence dedicated directly for psychologists. However, there is a possibility of using Konstanz Method of Dilemma-Discussion (KMDD®) in order to achieve this goal. Konstanz Method of Dilemma-Discussion developed by professor Georg Lind from the University of Konstanz – a student and a critic of L. Kohlberg – is used in many countries all over the world in order to increase the level of moral development by developing moral competency mainly in the area of education. An increasing interest of researchers in the method also results in searching for new possibilities of applications of the method. An example of such application would be an area of psychologists’ work. The article aims to promote the KMDD® method in the course of ethical and professional education and self-development of psychologists.
