Introduction and aim: This study investigates the validity and reliability of the Subjective Perception of Post-Operative Functional Impairment of the Arm (SPOFIA) scale in patients with postoperative breast cancer. Materials and methods: Research was designed as a methodological type. Required permissions were taken from the ethics committee, relevant institutions, and researchers who developed the SPOFIA scale. Data were collected as a research in Kocaeli University hospital, between November 2017 and October 2018. For the Turkish SPOFIA scale’s validity, data were collected from 142 patients. In the study, Patient Information Form, SPOFIA, and 36-item Short-Form Health Survey (SF-36) Quality-of-Life Questionnaire were used. In the analysis of data, descriptive statistical methods were used, and in the analysis of the validity of the scale, test-retest and Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was used. Results: As a result of the analysis, we obtained Kendall W = 0.107, P > 0.05; correlation with SF-36 was P < .05, reliability studies test-retest analysis was P > .05, and Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient was 0.739. It was determined that the SPOFIA scale was valid and reliable for Turkish patients and that the subjective findings of the patients could be used as individual follow-up in longitudinal monitoring. Conclusions: As a result, it was determined that the SPOFIA scale was reliable in the patient follow-up of breast cancer women.

Objective: The aim of this study was to examine the validity and reliability of the Turkish version of the Birth Experiences Questionnaire. Material and Methods: This methodological study was carried out with 110 couple who were admitted to a in Istanbul between January and December 2019. This re- search is a methodological study. This study was conducted with 110 couple who gave birth in a public hospital in Istanbul between January and December 2019. The data of the study were obtained using Personal Information Form and Turkish version of Birth Experiences Questionnaire. Birth Experiences Questionnaire measurements were tested with validity and reliability analyzes. For this purpose, validity analysis of data; scope validity index, exploratory factor analysis, confirmatory factor analysis (CFA), reliability analysis; Pearson moment product correlation and Cronbach Alpha reliability coefficient tests were used. In the evaluation of data, t-test, correlation anal- ysis, Cronbach α analysis, and CFA were used. Results: It is a 10-item self-rating scale. To assess the consistency of the question- naire overtime, test-retest measurement was performed with an interval of 1 day. As a result, no difference was found between the mean scores (p>0.05). In the analysis conducted for the internal consistency in the reliability study of the Birth Experiences Questionnaire, the Cronbach alpha reliability coefficient all scales was determined for all scales as ∝=0.78 for mothers and ∝=0.86 for fathers. Conclusion: In this study, it was shown that the Turkish version of the scale was valid and reliable.

The study aims to explore the degree of awareness of Jordanian education college students to terrorism's definition, type and causes, and the universities' roles in addressing terrorism. A five- scale questionnaire was designed by the author and administrated to 130 students studying at the faculty of education, Al-al Bayt University. The external reliability coefficient for the total questionnaire domains was 0.84, and the internal reliability coefficient (Cronbach Alpha) for the total questionnaire domains was 0.88. This indicates that the questionnaire was reliable and suitable for a sample administration. The results indicated that students were aware of the concept and types of terrorism, but they have a misconception of its main causes. These, however, were relevant from the perspectives of economical and social causes. Students' misconception can be interpreted by students' social alienation, and their refusal based on economic and social circumstances. The author suggested that universities must hold intense rehabilitating programs for the youths. This is in addition to holding international conferences on human security as it could raise students' awareness of terrorism and help them in addressing it eventually.

This paper reviews and illustrates statistical tests of the equality of two values of Cronbach's alpha reliability coefficient. Tests for independent and dependent coefficients are considered. Possible pitfalls in determining the critical value for these tests or in computing the p value associated with the tests' outcome are discussed.

This study examines the use of Cronbach alpha reliability estimate in research among university students in Ghana. An exploratory research design was employed in the study. University students’ (both undergraduate and post-graduate) research works were selected from three public universities in Ghana. With the use of inclusion criteria, purposive sampling technique was used to sample 100 research works conducted by students. The sampled research works were examined to evaluate how the students used Cronbach alpha reliability estimate. It was revealed that 91% of the works properly satisfied the conditions for the use of Cronbach alpha. However, 81% of the students calculated for the alpha for multiple constructs which suggests that alpha was treated as a measure of multidimensionality instead of internal consistency. It is recommended that applied courses in research and statistics should be mounted in the various public universities in Ghana. Workshops and seminars should also be organized for both students and lecturers on the use of Cronbach alpha reliability estimate.
