In the article, the author considers the problems of complex algorithmization and systematization of approaches to optimizing the work plans of construction organizations (calendar plans) using various modern tools, including, for example, evolutionary algorithms for "conscious" enumeration of options for solving a target function from an array of possible constraints for a given nomenclature. Various typical schemes for modeling the processes of distribution of labor resources between objects of the production program are given, taking into account the array of source data. This data includes the possibility of using the material and technical supply base (delivery, storage, packaging) as a temporary container for placing the labor resource in case of released capacity, quantitative and qualification composition of the initial labor resource, the properties of the construction organization as a counterparty in the contract system with the customer of construction and installation works etc. A conceptual algorithm is formed that is the basis of the software package for operational harmonization of the production program ( work plans) in accordance with the loading of production units, the released capacities of labor resources and other conditions stipulated by the model. The application of the proposed algorithm is most convenient for a set of objects, which determines the relevance of its implementation in optimization models when planning production programs of building organizations that contain several objects distributed over a time scale.

The article deals with the issues related to the problem of ballistic design of the space system of remote sensing of the Earth on stable near-circular solar-synchronous orbits with long-term existence of spacecraft. We propose a rational method of maintaining a solar-synchronous orbit in given light conditions with prolonged active lifetime of space systems. In solving this problem, the total time of normal operation of the system for a given period of operation, during which the most favorable conditions for the use of spacecraft are provided on the main parts of orbits, is taken as a target function.

AbstractIn this article we give two possible generalizations of the Hermite–Hadamard integral inequality for the class of twice differentiable functions, where the convexity property of the target function is not assumed in advance. They represent a refinement of this inequality in the case of convex/concave functions with numerous applications.

Abstract BACKGROUND Traumatic brachial plexus injuries cause long-term maiming of patients. The major target function to restore in complex brachial plexus injury is elbow flexion. OBJECTIVE To retrospectively analyze the correlation between the length of the nerve graft and the strength of target muscle recovery in extraplexual and intraplexual nerve transfers. METHODS A total of 51 patients with complete or near-complete brachial plexus injuries were treated with a combination of nerve reconstruction strategies. The phrenic nerve (PN) was used as axon donor in 40 patients and the spinal accessory nerve was used in 11 patients. The recipient nerves were the anterior division of the upper trunk (AD), the musculocutaneous nerve (MC), or the biceps branches of the MC (BBs). An index comparing the strength of elbow flexion between the affected and the healthy arms was correlated with the choice of target nerve recipient and the length of nerve grafts, among other parameters. The mean follow-up was 4 yr. RESULTS Neither the choice of MC or BB as a recipient nor the length of the nerve graft showed a strong correlation with the strength of elbow flexion. The choice of very proximal recipient nerve (AD) led to axonal misrouting in 25% of the patients in whom no graft was employed. CONCLUSION The length of the nerve graft is not a negative factor for obtaining good muscle recovery for elbow flexion when using PN or spinal accessory nerve as axon donors in traumatic brachial plexus injuries.

Remote sensing platforms have become an effective data acquisition tool for digital agriculture. Imaging sensors onboard unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and tractors are providing unprecedented high-geometric-resolution data for several crop phenotyping activities (e.g., canopy cover estimation, plant localization, and flowering date identification). Among potential products, orthophotos play an important role in agricultural management. Traditional orthophoto generation strategies suffer from several artifacts (e.g., double mapping, excessive pixilation, and seamline distortions). The above problems are more pronounced when dealing with mid- to late-season imagery, which is often used for establishing flowering date (e.g., tassel and panicle detection for maize and sorghum crops, respectively). In response to these challenges, this paper introduces new strategies for generating orthophotos that are conducive to the straightforward detection of tassels and panicles. The orthophoto generation strategies are valid for both frame and push-broom imaging systems. The target function of these strategies is striking a balance between the improved visual appearance of tassels/panicles and their geolocation accuracy. The new strategies are based on generating a smooth digital surface model (DSM) that maintains the geolocation quality along the plant rows while reducing double mapping and pixilation artifacts. Moreover, seamline control strategies are applied to avoid having seamline distortions at locations where the tassels and panicles are expected. The quality of generated orthophotos is evaluated through visual inspection as well as quantitative assessment of the degree of similarity between the generated orthophotos and original images. Several experimental results from both UAV and ground platforms show that the proposed strategies do improve the visual quality of derived orthophotos while maintaining the geolocation accuracy at tassel/panicle locations.

The scope of this paper is to demonstrate a least square method for optimisation of basic parameters for selected physical experiment design where large input parameter measurement and adjustment is needed. The speed of calculation and experimentally verified results are promising to use this method in many physical projects. We have demonstrated this method for computation of feeding currents of correcting coils for stationary magnetic field used in NMR imaging. A set of linear equation definition and determination of a target function and optimisation computations are presented with procedures that provide optimal values of currents for shim coils. The proposed method, because of its simplicity and speed of computation, is convenient for basic adjustment of the magnetic field homogeneity by the first magnet installation. It is also suitable for periodic testing and magnet inhomogeneity correction for MRI magnets.

Based on the bi-directional evolutionary structural optimization (BESO), the method of determining the adhesion position of the damping material is proposed in this paper, which is applicable to the vibration damping of ship plate. In this method, the needed amount of damping material is taken as the constraint condition, and the maximization of one natural vibration frequency of the structure is taken as the target function. A thin plate structure with both ends constraints has been taken as an example to get the best topology structure of its adhesion damper by taking the BESO method. The result of optimization shows that it still meets the damping requirements when the needed amount of damping material decreases by about 50% of the original amount. The reasonable result demonstrates the effectiveness and engineering value of the method.

Existing knowledge provides important reference for designers in mechanical design activities. However, current knowledge acquisition methods based on information retrieval have the problem of inefficiency and low precision, which mainly meet the requirement for knowledge coverage. To improve the efficiency of knowledge acquisition and ensure the availability of design knowledge, this paper proposes a knowledge push service method based on design intent and user interest. First, the design intent model, which is mainly the formal expression of the target function of conceptual design, is built. Second, the user interest model that consists of domain themes and operation logs is built, and an automatic updating method of user interest is proposed. Third, a matching method of design knowledge based on design intent, and a sorting algorithm of knowledge candidates based on user interest are proposed to realize personalized knowledge active push service. Finally, a prototype system called Personalized Knowledge Push System for Mechanical Conceptual Design (MCD-PKPS) is implemented. An illustrative case demonstrates that the proposed method can successfully improve the efficiency and availability of knowledge acquisition.

The article presents a mathematical model of the multi-pass surface treatment route. The method reduces the amount of calculations compared to the directed search method and guarantees a global extremum of the target function. According to the proposed method, an algorithm and a program in Visual Basic have been developed.

Logistics support of products at all stages of the life cycle is gaining increasing influence. This is facilitated by the increasing complexity of structures, a large number of elements, the intro-duction of mechatronic systems. Under these conditions, the relevance of developing methods for analyzing the design of samples increases. The developed model for analyzing the diesel cooling system is based on the principles of cognitive modeling. The practical significance of cognitive models is shown, which consists in the possibility of predicting changes in the influence of system elements on the target function in various operating conditions.
