Urang aring plants (Eclipta alba (L.)) Hassk  has been traditionally used as a medicinal plant. Leaf of urang-aring widely used to treat asphyxia, headache, toothache, bronchitis, menstrual disorders, and as a fertilizer hair. Extracts from Eclipta alba (L.) Hass plants from various types of solvents show some activities such as antioxidants and antibacterials. In this research has been studied antioxidant activity test from wedelolactone isolate resulted from Eclipta alba (L.) Hass leaves. The isolation process is carried out conventionally by means of maceration, partition, and column chromatography and characterized by TLC, LCMS and UV-Vis and NMR spectroscopy. The results showed that wedelolactone isolate had antioxidant activity of IC50 at concentration (5.6 ± 0.5) ppm.

Bawang tiwai (Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill) Urb)a plant that originated from Kalimantan. This plant is traditionally used as a medicinal plant in the community. Bawang tiwai have bioactive compounds such as alkaloids, flavonoids, saponins which act as antioxidants. In addition bawang tiwai, turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.)is a traditional medicinal plant used for seasoning and is a medicinal plant as antimicrobial, antioxidant, anti-tumor and anti-inflammatory. The aim of the research is to measure the antioxidant activity of the combination of extracts of bawang tiwai(Eleutherine bulbosa (Mill) Urb)and Turmeric (Curcuma domestica Val.). Antioxidant activity test used the DPPH (1,1-Diphenyl-2-picryl Hidrazil) measured absorption at a wavelength of 517 nm. Antioxidant activity was assessed based on% inhibition (IC50) which is the concentration of the sample solution is needed to reduce free radicals by 50%. The results obtained by measuring the antioxidant activity fromcombination extracts of IC50 was 185,118 ppm respectively.

This study aims to find the treatment of diabetes using natural materials by exploring plants in the province of East Nusa Tenggara. his research was conducted out by extracting the Strychnos nitida G.Don stem using a method of maceration by ethanol 70%. Ethanol extract was then fractionated using n-hexane and ethyl acetate. Simplicia from maceration and fractionation results were then tested for antioxidant activity, α-glucosidase inhibition activity and identification of active compounds. The results showed that ethyl acetate fraction had the lowest IC50 value of 86.83 μg / ml. Results of the α-glucosidase activity test showed that ethyl acetate fraction and n-heksan fraction at 900 ppm had the highest percentage of inhibition of 34.23% and 33.89%. Identification using LCMS/MS method showed that ethyl acetate fraction consist of Benzenemethamine, N, N-dioctyl- as an antioxidantcompound and compound 24-methyl-5-cholestone-hexol as an antidiabetic compound. From the results of this study, we concluded that the extract of kayu ular Strychnos nitida G.Don stem has inhibition activity toward α-glucosidase enzyme.

Seven isoflavonoids, including a new glycoside, (6a R,11a R)-medicarpin-3- O-gentiobioside (6), were isolated from the roots of Maackia amurensis using repeated column chromatography on a Toyopearl HW-50F sorbent and identified by HPLC–PDA–MS, 1H NMR, 13C, 1H–1H COSY, HSQC NMR and HMBC NMR analyses as daidzin (1), genistein-7- O-gentiobioside (2), pseudobaptigenin-7- O-gentiobioside (3), formononetin-7- O-gentiobioside (4), (6a R,11a R)-maackiain-3- O-gentiobioside (5), and 5- O-methylgenistein-7- O-gentiobioside (7). In the model of oxidative stress induced by formalin injection, the isolated isoflavone and pterocarpan glucosides 1-7 were shown to reduce the formation of malondialdehyde (MDA) and other thiobarbituric acid reactive substances (TBARS), as well as glutathione peroxidase (GPO) activity in rats.

Indonesia has millions island and big part of Indonesia is sea that is rich in marine biological resources and has the potential to be developed and optimized. One of the abundant marine resources in Indonesia is algae. Algae are plant-like protists. Algae have several important compounds, including protein, carbohydrates, fats, minerals and other useful elements. Proteins contained in algae have the potential to be used as antioxidants. In this study, the levels of protein in red and green algae were tested by using the lowry method and testing the antioxidant activity of red and green algae extracts using the Diphenylpicrylhydrazyl (DPPH) method. Algae extraction was done by maceration, which is soaking the sample in low temperature with phosphate buffer saline (PBS) pH 7. From the extraction results it can be concluded that the red algae (Rhodophyta) has the highest protein content of 5.115 ± 0.126% and the lowest protein content in green algae (Chloropytha) as big as 1.686 ± 0.430%. And from the results of the antioxidant activity test showed that all positive algae showed antioxidant activity but the green algae (Chlorophyta) had the highest antioxidant activity of 71.5946 ± 0.01612% with IC50 value 1.6114.

Herein, we report on the anticancer and antioxidant activity of an Aporphine alkaloid isolated from medicinal plant Alphonsea sclerocarpa. Conventional column chromatography and preparative HPLC methods were used to isolate and purify the alkaloid. Based on NMR, FTIR and MS/MS spectroscopic techniques the compound was identified as Crebanine. This is the first report on the presence of Crebanine from the leaves of Alphonsea sclerocarpa. Antioxidant activity was evaluated using DPPH and FRAP assay. The antioxidant activity was dose-dependent and activity increased with the increase in the concentration. The cytotoxicity assay was carried out using MTT assay. The results showed remarkable cytotoxic activity against K562 (CML-chronic myeloid Leukaemia blood cancer) cells with a % inhibition of 37.545 at 500µm concentration after an incubation of 24h
