Abstract Background Prenatal anxiety has been a significant public health issue globally, leading to adverse health outcomes for mothers and children. The study aimed to evaluate the sociodemographic characteristics, knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP), and anxiety level of pregnant women during the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) epidemic in Wuhan and investigate the influencing factors for prenatal anxiety in this specific context. Methods Pregnant subjects’ KAP towards COVID-19 and their sociodemographics and pregnancy information were collected using questionnaires. The Zung Self-Rating Anxiety Scale (SAS) was used to assess anxiety status. Factors associated with the level of prenatal anxiety were analyzed by Pearson’s chi-square test and multivariable logistic regression analyses. Results The prenatal anxiety prevalence in this population was 20.8%. The mean score of knowledge was 13.2 ± 1.1 on a 0 ~ 14 scale. The attitudes and practices data showed that 580/ 817 (71.0%) were very concerned about the news of COVID-19, 455/817 (55.7%) considered the official media to be the most reliable information source for COVID-19, and 681/817 (83.4%) were anxious about the possibility of being infected by COVID-19. However, only 83/817 (10.2%) worried about contracting COVID-19 infection through the ultrasound transducer during a routing morphology scan. About two-thirds 528/817 (64.6%) delayed or canceled the antenatal visits. Approximately half of them 410/817 (50.2%) used two kinds of personal protection equipments (PPEs) during hospital visits. Logistic regression analysis revealed that the influential factors for prenatal anxiety included previous children in the family, knowledge score, media trust, worry of contracting the COVID-19 infection and worry about getting infected with COVID-19 from the ultrasound probe antenatal care (ANC) schedule. Conclusion Prenatal anxiety was prevalent among pregnant women in Wuhan during the outbreak of COVID-19. The current findings identified factors associated with the level of prenatal anxiety that could be targeted for psychological care.

Abstract Background Although the World Health Organization and health authorities in most countries recommend that pregnant women receive inactivated influenza virus vaccines, coverage remains low. This study aimed to investigate (1) the proportion of pregnant women who received an influenza vaccination and influencing factors and (2) the proportion of obstetrics and gynecology (OBGYN) doctors who routinely recommend influenza vaccination to pregnant women and influencing factors. Methods Two separate, anonymized questionnaires were developed for physicians and pregnant and postpartum women and were distributed to multicenters and clinics in South Korea. The proportions of women who received influenza vaccination during pregnancy and OBGYN doctors who routinely recommend the influenza vaccine to pregnant women were analyzed. Independent influencing factors for both maternal influenza vaccination and OBGYN doctors’ routine recommendations to pregnant women were analyzed using log-binomial regression analysis. Results The proportion of self-reported influenza vaccination during pregnancy among 522 women was 63.2%. Pregnancy-related independent factors influencing maternal influenza vaccination were “(ever) received information about influenza vaccination during pregnancy” (OR 8.9, 95% CI 4.17–19.01), “received vaccine information about from OBGYN doctors” (OR 11.44, 95% CI 5.46–24.00), “information obtained from other sources” (OR 4.38, 95% CI 2.01–9.55), and “second/third trimester” (OR 2.41, 95% CI 1.21–4.82).. Among 372 OBGYN doctors, 76.9% routinely recommended vaccination for pregnant women. Independent factors effecting routine recommendation were “working at a private clinic or hospital” (OR 5.33, 95% CI 2.44–11.65), “awareness of KCDC guidelines” (OR 3.11, 95% CI 1.11–8.73), and “awareness of the 2019 national free influenza vaccination program for pregnant women” (OR 4.88, 95% CI 2.34–10.17). OBGYN doctors most commonly chose ‘guidelines proposed by the government or public health (108, 46%) and academic committees (59, 25%), as a factor which expect to affect the future recommendation Conclusion This study showed that providing information about maternal influenza vaccination, especially by OBGYN doctors, is crucial for increasing vaccination coverage in pregnant women. Closer cooperation between the government and OBGYN academic societies to educate OBGYN doctors might enhance routine recommendations.

Adequate knowledge regarding danger signs during pregnancy, child birth and postpartum period plays a vital role in safeguarding mothers as well as child health. This cross sectional study was conducted by purposively selected 262 pregnant women in two hospitals in Bogura district from 1st January to 31st December, 2018 with the aim to assess the knowledge of pregnant women on danger signs related to pregnancy and child birth. Data were collected with a semi-structured questionnaire through face-to-face interview. The mean age of the respondent’s was SD = 23.37 ± 4.47 years. Most of the respondents 61.4%, (n=161) knew about danger signs during pregnancy from health workers and 65.6 % (n=172) had poor knowledge regarding danger signs during pregnancy whereas 34.4% (n=90) respondents had good knowledge. Most of the respondents 61.5%, (n=161) understood danger signs during child birth and 68.7 % (n=180) had poor knowledge regarding danger signs during child birth. Among the respondents 40.5% (n=106) understood dang.er signs after child birth and only 12.2% (n=32) respondents had good knowledge regarding danger signs after child birth. Significant association was found between age of the respondents and level of knowledge regarding danger signs during pregnancy (p=0.0001). Health education on danger signs related to pregnancy and child birth should be imparted to all pregnant women to increase their knowledge regarding this issue.

Background World Health Organization (WHO) recommendsbreastfeeding as the appropriate method of infant feeding.Predelivery intentions about breastfeeding are strong predictorsof both initiating and continuing exclusively breastfeedingthrough the post delivery period.Objective To determine the association of age, education,occupation, parity, and information got by pregnant women withthe intention to give exclusive breastfeeding at Siloam LippoCikarang Hospital.Methods Pregnant women were chosen by consecutive samplingfilled in questionnaires contained identity, knowledge, obstacles ofbreastfeeding and intentions to exclusively breastfeed. Pregnantwomen visiting Obstetrics and Gynecologic Department SiloamLippo Cikarang Hospital who were able to read and write inIndonesian were eligible for this study.Result: Most of the 200 respondents were between 20-30 years ofage (69.5%), college graduated (55.5%), working women (50.5%),multiparous (58.5%) and have already got the informationabout breastfeeding (64.5%). The commonly cited source isprinted device (40%). Knowledge about breastfeeding in generalwere good (78%), but respondents who intended to exclusivelybreastfeed were only 58.5%. Multivariate analysis showed thatthe factors significant associated with the intention to exclusivelybreastfeed were age, with OR 0.9 (95%CI 0.84;0.98, P<0.05) andinformation, with OR 0.28 (95%CI 0.143;0.56, P<O.OOl)Conclusions The significant influencing factors to the intentionsto give exclusively breastfeed are age and information.

Background: Emergency obstetric and newborn is a condition that can be life-threatening and can occur during pregnancy and childbirth. The cause of such emergencies include comorbidities, complications of pregnancy and child birth in which this condition can arise because of risk factors during pregnancy,one of them is gravida. Pregnantwomenwithprimigravidaandgrandmultigravidaareoneoftheriskfactorsfor complications of pregnancy and childbirth. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the contribution of the number of pregnancies (gravida) to women who experience complications of childbirth in Hospital Pandan Arang Boyolali Methods: The study was a retrospective descriptive quantitative approach, data collection using notes or other documents in the form of health information for pregnant women with gestationalcomorbiditiesaretakenbasedondatafromJanuary1toDecember31,2018, with total sampling. Results: From the data 224 pregnant women with comorbidities and complications of labor, based on the characteristics of the highest responder status occurs at age 20-35 years old in 185 (82.5%), multigravida status of 190 (84.8%), co-morbidities pregnancy Preeclampsia 124 (55.3%) and the handling of labor SC 152 (67%). The highest contribution to the multigravida gravida with the highest labor complication is bleeding 101 (53.2%). Conclusions: The importance of monitoring the mother’s pregnancy and regulating the number of pregnancies (gravida) to prevent complications of pregnancy and childbirth and to improve the degree of life of amother.

ABSTRACT Delivery is a crucial phase in every female’s life span. Every woman expects normal delivery in her life. Child birth is a very Influential process and women is been well prepared for it. Notwithstanding of advanced health care in Obstetrical field high number of woman continue to die during childbirth due to causes like mismanagement of labour. Thus Antenatal, Intra-natal and Postnatal care is very important. A comprehensive sweeping antenatal care from conception up to delivery is given under subservient to “Garbhini Paricharya” in Ayurveda. In Garbhini Paricharya Acharyas have mentioned Basti procedure to facilitate Sukhaprasava (Eutocia). Moreover Madhura aushadhi siddha Taila and Yonipichu (Vaginal Tampon) are used in management Labour. AIMS AND OBJECTIVE To study Anuvasana Basti and Yoni pichu in Sukhaprasava and establish its Ayurveda co-ordination. To evaluate its modern co – ordination in Normal Labour. METHODOLOGY Reviewing the modern science literature regarding Anuvasana Basti and Yoni pichu in Sukhaprasava and Ayurvedic classics, commentaries also recently published books and Research journals, collection done and attempt to get co-relation between Ayurveda and Modern effect of Anuvasana Basti and Yoni pichu in Sukhaprasava. CONCLUSION             In pregnant women due to distension of uterus it causes obstruction to pathway of Apanavayu thus resulting into Constipation, Backache and other symptoms. To treat Apanavayu Anuvasana basti medicated with Madhura gana aushadhi acts in right pathway and women can have a natural and uncomplicated delivery. Use of Yoni pichu with same medicated oil in 9th month enhances lubrication of Garbhashaya and Garbhashayamarga also reduces exhaustion of Prasava and makes Garbhini physically and psychologically strong.
