Introduction: All people involved in transfusion therapy have professional, legal and ethical responsibility for their own actions. Aim: The aims of the authors were to evaluate competencies, knowledge and practice of nurses about transfusion therapy. Method: Descriptive statistical approach using observation, questionnaire survey and interview was applied. Reliability and validity of the self-made questionnaire were examined with statistical methods. Variance, standard deviation, Cronbach’s alpha and Pearson correlations were calculated. Results: Transfusiology-related knowledge of nurses regarding current transfusion regulations was almost 90%, and 56.2% of nurses systematized the nursing functions correctly. Significant differences were found among different institutions in transfusion therapy, transfusion practice and the use of relevant documentation. 75–77% of the institutions examined had their own protocol, and assigned transfusion care nurses worked in more than 20% of the wards. Conclusions: The authors propose a better supervision by leaders in nursing aspects of transfusion therapy, and an increased professional responsibility. Orv. Hetil., 2015, 156(9), 366–378.

Self-efficacy expectations for functional activities were defined operationally by having individuals rate their perceived judgment or confidence in their ability to perform each specific activity of daily living (ADL) (bathing, dressing, transferring, ambulating, and stair climbing) at a given point in time. The Self-Efficacy for Functional Activities (SEFA) scale initially included 27 items focusing on efficacy expectations related to performance of each ADL independently, with adaptive equipment, and with the help of another person. After initial pilaf testing the scale was revised to include 9 items which focused on efficacy expectations related to performance of each ADL independently, or with the help of another person. Two additional studies were done and provided some evidence for the reliability and validity of the SEFA when used with older adults.

Entrepreneurship skills are an individual’s ability to make business in a profitable way. The study focused on to develop a tool to measure the entrepreneurial skill among the agripreneurs by reviewing of literature. Item selection and scoring procedure had been included in this study. Based on the reliability and validity testing, this study finalized the instruments to yielding seven indicators, namely, marketing dimension, psychological magnitude, managerial skill, behavioural skill, technical skill, communication competency, cognitive skill. It is recommended that future researchers apply and thereby extend the developed measure by cross-examining the instruments presented in this study across different entrepreneurs study. The results obtained will be helpful in planning and implementing the capacity development programmes. Among seven indictors and the respective sub indicators, the indicators and sub indicators having above 0.75 relative weightage score had taken for final index. The study found that marketing skill (0.88), psychological magnitude (0.89), behavioural skill (0.79), technical skill (0.83), communication competency (0.93) and cognitive skill (0.89) were the major skill of the agri entrepreneurs, should possess to run their business effectively and efficiently.

<p>This study aimed to identify Classroom Instructional Practices of Islamic education teachers<br />at basic stage in AL- Mafraq and to identify the relationship between these practices and<br />gender and experience variables as well as interaction between them. The researcher prepared<br />a scale which its reliability and validity were checked to measure the level of classroom<br />instructional practices. The sample of study which consisted of (64) teachers (male and<br />female) was chosen randomly.<br />Data were collected and analyzed statistically using means, standard deviation, t-test and<br />Tuky test. Results revealed that the classroom studying practices of Islamic education<br />teachers in basic stage in AL- Mafraq agreed with acceptable educational and social standard<br />(80%), whereas the percentage of the classroom instructional practices was (81-89%). The<br />results also revealed lack of statistical significant differences in the classroom instructional<br />practices of Islamic education teachers in the basic stage in AL- Mafraq due to the gender<br />variable but there were statistical significant differences at (0,05=OC) in classroom<br />instructional practices due to experience variable in favor of respondents with experiences ( 4<br />years and less) and 10 years and more).Additionally, there were no statistical significant<br />differences in the classroom instructional practices of Islamic education teachers due to<br />interaction between gender and experience variable. The researcher recommended conducting<br />further studies with different variables.</p>

The purpose of this article is to provide a brief review of reliability and validity testing. These concepts are important to researchers who are choosing techniques and/or developing tools that will be applied and evaluated in diabetes education practice. Several types of reliability and validity testing are defined, and an easy-to-use check sheet is provided for research purposes. Following testing for the basic aspects of reliability and validity such as face and construct validity, a tool may be appropriate for use in practice settings. Those conducting comprehensive outcomes evaluations, however, may desire additional validation such as testing for external validity. Diabetes educators can and should incorporate rigorous testing for these important aspects when conducting assessments of techniques and tools relating to diabetes self-management training.

The self-concepts of 10 5-yr.-old girls enrolled in a preballet program at a ballet school in Tulsa, Oklahoma for over one year were measured using the Purdue Self-concept Scale for Preschool Children. Their scores were compared against the scale's normative data for girls of similar age. A one-sample two-tailed t test showed girls' mean was 1 standard deviation above the normative population's mean, a significant difference. Preballet education may be an effective tool for enhancing self-concept, although selective factors may contribute also.

Purpose: To determine the reliability and validity of a novel trunk maximal isometric force assessment involving 7 different tasks with 200-m times for elite sprint flat-water kayakers. Methods: Ten elite sprint flat-water kayakers performed a series of maximal isometric voluntary contractions (MVCs) on 2 separate days to assess reliability. MVC force was assessed as the participants sat on a modified kayak ergometer and applied their maximal isometric force to a uniaxial load cell during 7 different tasks. The 7 tasks of interest were a seated trunk-forward flexion, bilateral (left and right) rotational pulls, bilateral rotational pushes, and a sport-specific bilateral kayak-stroke simulation. Twenty elite flat-water kayak athletes (10 male and 10 female) participated in the validity portion by completing the series of tasks in conjunction with a 200-m race. Results: MVC force values ranged from 84 to 800 N across all participants and all tasks. The average coefficient of variation of the 7 tasks ranged from 2.4% to 7.7%. Regression analysis showed Pearson correlations ranging from −.84 to −.22 for both absolute and relative values with 200-m performance times. Conclusions: MVC force measured in each task was considered reliable as a small degree of variance between trials was found. The summation of the 7 trunk scores showed very strong correlations with on-water performance, indicating that this assessment is valid for elite sprint kayakers.

Introduction: SARS-CoV-2 is the novel coronavirus that causes severe acute respiratory syndrome and could afflict individuals from all walks of life. Children are usually asymptomatic or represent non-specific mild to moderate symptoms; therefore, they often remain undiagnosed and could be potential reservoirs and silent carriers of the virus. Despite the global attention to COVID-19 and its importance in public health, some clinical and paraclinical aspects of this disease in children are still unclear. Thus, we conducted a comprehensive systematic review of available literature to reflect on the current knowledge and practice of the disease among children. Methods: This study was a systematic review of current evidence conducted in October 2020. We performed a systematic search using the keywords in online databases. The investigation adheres to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) checklist to ensure the reliability and validity of extracted literature and results. Results: We selected and reviewed 23 most related studies out of 1744 identified paper in an initial online search based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the present review; of whom, 13 were original research studies, and 10 were a letter to the editors, commentaries, viewpoints, consensus statements, and perspectives. Although due to the origin of the current pandemic, China was the country with the most publications (14 articles), data from several countries have beenincluded in this review. Conclusion: COVID-19 can also affect children and cause systemic disease with several internal organ involvements. However, the prevalence, severity, and diversity of the symptoms in children are less than in adults. Cough and fever appear to be some of the most common symptoms, followed by other symptoms such as gastrointestinal manifestations. Comorbidities increase the risk of severe COVID-19 in children, and those without underlying conditions are very unlikely to suffer from severe disease. Mental health issues such as anxiety and depression due to the isolated situation caused by pandemics are common findings in children of early ages and should be seriously considered in current practice.
