Cebus albifrons (Humboldt, 1812); Sapajus apella (Linnaeus, 1758) and Aotus lemurinus I. Geoffroy, 1843 are widely distributed primates in Colombia. Despite this, there are gaps in the occurrence of these species in the southwestern part of the country. Through the collection of specimen remains, molecular analyses and review of museum specimens, we reported new records for these species in the Department of Nariño, expanding their distribution range. Finally, we highlight some important notes for the conservation of these species.

We present new records of larvae and adult fish from the family Callionymidae in the Colombian Pacific coast. Larvae and juvenile of Synchiropus atrilabiatus (Garman 1899), expands its distribution range within this coast (between Tumaco in the South to the border with Panama in the North), presenting low to medium abundances in September-October 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005 and February-March 2006, 2014. Larvae were always collected at stations 54 km away from the coast. Adults of S. atrilabiatus were collected as bycatch from the deep-sea shrimp fishing fleet between 67-700 m depth at Bahía Cupica in 1995 and Arusí in 2005.

Specimen based records of two vespertilionid bats namely Pipistrellus ceylonicus and Tylonycteris fulvida are provided for the first time from the state of Assam in northeastern India.  Based on review of existing literature and examinations of museum specimens, we also furnish a checklist of the bat fauna of Assam with distribution, which includes 32 species in 17 genera.

The species Melanotettix dibelonius Bruner, 1904 was previously recorded from Michoacán and Guerrero states in Mexico. This species is characterized by its tegmina, which are always shorter than head and pronotum together and sometimes shorter than the pronotum. After recent field expeditions (2015-2019) and an extensive review of museum specimens from the most important Orthoptera collections in Mexico and USA (291 specimens), we discovered a long-winged form of this species south of its previous known range, which effectively expanded its distribution range into Oaxaca state. We discuss some aspects regarding the patterns of geographic distribution and morphological variation among the long-winged and short-winged morphs. We conduct statistical analyses and observed that on average, the tegmina of long-winged individuals (both females and males) are slightly longer than twice the length of pronotum; whereas in short-winged individuals the tegmina are nearly as long or slightly longer than the length of the pronotum. Moreover, on average, females appear to have longer tegmina than males in both morphotypes. We provide photographic records of both forms live and mounted, the most comprehensive distribution map to date and a discussion of evolutionarily interesting patterns found in this species.

The fungal genus Agaricus includes edible, medicinal and some toxic species mainly in the Agaricus sect. Xanthodermatei. As the diversity of the genus is not well known in Iran, an inventory of the species has begun in 2013 in different provinces. Morphological and/or molecular analyses of 12 selected specimens from recent field collections and from herbarium specimens revealed that ten of them belonged to four potentially poisonous species of the Agaricus sect. Xanthodermatei: A. iodosmus, A. moelleri, A. phaeolepidotus and A. xanthodermus. Moreover, our study revealed that previous first records of A. xanthodermus and A. moelleri in Iran had been based on morphologically misidentified and correctly identified specimens, respectively. Finally, three species, A. iodosmus, A. phaeolepidotus and A. xanthodermus are reported as new records for Iran mycobiota. The four species of the section are described and illustrated.

This first survey in 2009 and 2010 on silica-scaled Chrysophytes in Zhenbao Island Wetland Preserve, Northeast China, recorded 32 taxa (5 in Chrysophyceae and 27 in Synurophyceae), of which 29 were previously found in other parts of China, three species, Spiniferomonas serrata, Mallomonas transsylvanica and Synura punctulosa are new records to China. In terms of biogeography, 1 taxon is endemic, 2 bipolar, 1 northern temperate, 9 cosmopolitan, and 18 of wide distribution. The endemism of Synura punctulosa, appears due to its poor dispersal ability; lack of sampling data may also contribute its known distribution range. Spiniferomonas serrata and Mallomonas transsylvanica, two bipolar taxa, are the first report in China. More research efforts are needed for adequately understanding the distributions of this group of algae.

Historically, the species composition of Iris ser. Lacteae has been controversial. Morphological and molecular analyses have been conducted here including specimens covering most of their distribution range. The results suggest I. ser. Lacteae includes three species: the well-known I. lactea and I. oxypetala, plus a newly defined taxon which is endemic to the Gansu and Qinghai provinces, China. We here propose it as a new combination at the species rank, I. tibetica. Morphologically, this species is close to I. lactea but differs by its horizontal, creeping rhizome, scapes with no more than two flowers, its bracts reach the middle of the first flower, its broader inner perianth segments, its obovate with obtuse apex outer perianth segments, and its fruit apex always abruptly narrowed to a very short beak. The most useful qualitative and quantitative morphological characters used to distinguish this species are highlighted. Additionally, all three names are here typified, and a neotype for the name I. lactea and a lectotype for the name I. tibetica are designated. Notes on distribution and habitat are provided for all the accepted species.

Abstractis a marsupial with unique morphological and ecological characteristics. Owing mainly to its semi-aquatic habits, it is rarely collected by conventional methods, being consequently underrepresented in scientific collections. Its distribution in South America is currently considered disjunct, with a north-west and a south-east portion, and a large gap of more than one thousand kilometers that comprises central Amazonia and a large portion of the Cerrado. On the basis of four museum specimens and two photographed live animals, we present six new records for the species. These records extend the species’ distribution, showing that its range is continuous from southern Amazonia and through Cerrado gallery forests, to the southern portion of its range in southeastern South America. A new species of Lecanora, L. flavocrassa, is described from the Antarctic region. Additionally, L. stenotropa is registered for the first time from Antarctica and the distribution range of L. intricata is extended to the Antarctic Peninsula. A key to the species of Lecanora from Antarctica that contain usnic acid as secondary metabolite is presented.

<p>Records of two lichenicolous and nine lichen-forming fungi found in the southwestern part of Poland are presented. All of the reported species are very rare and they have only a few scattered localities in the country. One of them, <em>Lecanora pannonica</em>, is reported for the second time from Poland. Additionally, the new, contemporary records of <em>Cercidospora macrospora</em>, <em>Rhizocarpon disporum</em>, <em>R. viridiatrum</em> and <em>Stereocaulon pileatum</em> in Lower Silesia were noted. These species were known only from historical collections in the study area. Furthermore, <em>Lecidea fuscoatra</em> has been found a new host for <em>Sagediopsis barbara</em>. All of the localities of recorded species were found on natural outcrops of basalt rocks.</p>

We report new records of eight species of ground beetles (Coleoptera, Carabidae) from Colombia originated from recent field trips and from museum specimens: Amblygnathus suturalis Putzeys, 1845 (Atl&aacute;ntico), Bembidion chimborazonum Bates, 1891 (Valle del Cauca), Homopterus subcordatus Darlington, 1950 (Caquet&aacute;), Hyboptera auxiliadora Erwin, 2004 (Bol&iacute;var), Neoaulacoryssus cupripennis (Gory, 1833) (Tolima), Notiobia disparilis Bates, 1878 (Caquet&aacute;), Notiobia glabrata Arndt, 1998 (Caquet&aacute;), and Trichopselaphus magnificus Ball, 1978 (Valle del Cauca). These records belong to species expected to be found in Colombia, because previous studies have shown their presence in nearby countries, but whose presence in the country was not confirmed so far.
