Ikan kembung lelaki (Rastrelliger kanagurta) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan pelagis kecil yang bermanfaat untuk memenuhi kebutuhan akan protein masyarakat, dan juga dapat digunakan sebagai umpan dalam perikanan rawai tuna (tuna long line). Kebutuhan yang tinggi akan jenis ikan ini dapat menimbulkan tekanan terhadap populasi ikan ini sehingga menyebabkan penangkapan yang berlebih. Dalam mengelola sumberdaya ikan diperlukan informasi mengenai biologi reproduksi dan aspek biologi lainnya. Salah satu aspek biologi yang terkait dengan informasi reproduksi adalah tingkat kematangan gonad. Dalam studi ini menganalisis hubungan panjang berat, nisbah kelamin, tingkat kematangan gonad (TKG), indeks kematangan gonad (IKG), dan hubungan antara IKG dengan berat ikan kembung lelaki. Pengamatan TKG dilakukan secara morfologi dan histologi. Pengambilan contoh ikan dilakukan di Tempat Pelelangan Ikan Mayangan, Probolinggo, Jawa Timur, selama bulan Februari sampai April 2018. Hasil analisa hubungan panjang berat menunjukkan bahwa ikan kembung lelaki memiliki pola pertumbuhan allometrik positif, nisbah kelamin ikan kembung lelaki jantan dan betina yaitu 87%:13% (6:1), Hasil pengamatan tingkat kematangan gonad secara morfologi pada 400 ikan contoh menunjukkan dalam keadaan belum matang gonad (tingkat kematangan I, II, III), pengamatan gonad secara histologi pada 8 ikan contoh menujukkan dalam keadaan tingkat kematangan gonad III dan IV. Ukuran diameter telur pada tingkat kematangan gonad III antara 280,91 -314,74 µm dengan rerata 296,78 µm dan pada tingkat kematangan gonad IV antara 287,99-315,31 µm dengan rerata 303,89 µm dengan nilai fekunditas antara 4.863,96-28.255,32 butir telur. Indeks kematangan gonad pada bulan Februari, Maret, April adalah 1,78, 1,32, dan 0,55. Analisa korelasi antara hubungan berat dengan IKG mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan tingkat keeratan yang rendah.Indian mackerel (Rastrelliger kanagurta) is one of the small pelagic fish that is useful a need of protein requirement of the people while, and can also be used as bait in (tuna long line). High demand for this fish can cause pressure on this fish population, then cause overfishing. In managing fish resources, information about reproductive biology and other aspects of biology is needed. One aspect of biology related to reproductive information is the level of gonad maturity. In this study analyzed the relationship of leng weight relationship, sex ratio, gonad maturity level (GML), gonado somatic index (GSI) and relationship of GSI with weight of the indian mackerel. Fish sampling was conducted at Fish Auction Hall of Mayangan, Probolinggo, East Java during February to April 2018. The analysis result of length weight relationship show that indian mackerel has a positive allometric growth pattern, sex ratio of male and female is 87%: 13% (6:1). Morphological observation of gonad maturity level at 400 fish samples showed that the gonads were immature (gonad maturity levels I, II, III), histologic gonad observation on 8 fish samples showed in maturity state of gonad III and IV. The size of egg diameter at maturity level of gonad III between 280.91 -314.74 ìm with an average of 296.78 ìm and at maturity level of gonad IV between 287.99-315.31 ìm with an average of 303.89 ìm with a fecundity value between 4,863.96-28,255.32 eggs. Index of gonad maturity in February, March, April was 1.78, 1.32, and 0.55. Correlation analysis between the weight with GSI has a significant relationship but has a low level of closeness.

Sulphur goatfish (Upeneus sulphureus) is the dominant caught with a fairly high level of utilization. This research aimed to analyze aspects of growth and reproduction sulphur goatfish caught by rampus nets landed at the fishing port of PPI Kalianda. Growth aspects that were observed included the length-weight, while the reproductive aspects observed is the sex ratio, gonad maturity level, and the size of sulphur goatfish at first maturity. This research was conducted in May-July 202 with the research method used simple random sampling method.  The fish samples obtained during the study were 600 individuals, the results showed that Sulphur goatfish had negative allometric growth. The equation for the long-weight relationship of sulphur goatfish is log W = -4,6 + 2,9 log L or W = 2,8x10-5L2,9. The sex ratio of sulphur goatfish in May and July were not 1: 1, while the ideal condition was achieved in June. The gonad maturity level distribution of sulphur goatfish was dominated by TKG III and IV for female, while male sulphur goatfish was dominated by TKG II and III. Size at first maturity of sulphur goatfish females was 169,1 ± 1,03mm.

Indian mackerel is a group of small pelagic fish that has high economic value and is ecologically important. The catch of Indian mackerel in the Morodemak Coastal Fishing Port of Central Java has decreased within 2016-2018, which is suspected by overexploitation. This study aims to observe the reproduction of Indian mackerel. Fish samples were collected from the catches of the mini purse seine operated by fishermen in April-June 2019. The fish samples were measured their length and weight individually, then the abdomen dissected to collect gonad, and counted in sub-sample of the egg number. Data were analyzed to determine the length-weight relationship of fish, sex ratio, gonad maturity level (GML), gonad maturity index (GMI), the size of the first gonad matured, and the egg number in each gonad brood fish. The results showed a negative allometric length relationship, and the length-weight relation equation in female fish was W = 0.038 L 2.59 and in male was W = 0.178 L 2.03. The value of fish condition factors in males, and females obtained values ranging from 1-2. The proportion of fish in GML III ranges from 27.2 to 82.5%, while GML IV ranges from 3.6 to 33.8%. Fish GMI ranged from 0.17 to 4.75%. The eggs number ranged from 11.235 to 40.878 grain. The female Indian mackerel get the first gonad matured at the size of 15.2 cm.

This research was carried out in the waters of Latulahalat, Ambon Island from June to August 2016. The objectives of the research were to study some biological aspects namely sex ratio, gonad maturity level, size distribution and growth pattern of scad mackerel, Decaterus russelli. Fish samples were collected every month at fish landing from purse seine fishers. Sex ratios of scad mackerel in the area were equal i.e. 1:1 with the male dominated gonad maturity levels I and IV while female dominated gonad maturity levels II, III and V.  In general, male fishes were smaller than female ones in term of length and weight. Ikan selar bentong (Selar crumenophthalmus Bloch, 1793) merupakan salah satu ikan ekonomis penting yang tertangkap di perairan Kwandang, Sulawesi Utara. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui biologi reproduksi ikan selar bentong. Pengumpulan data panjang berat, jenis kelamin dan tingkat kematangan gonad dilakukan dari periode Februari hingga November 2017. Jumlah contoh ikan yang diamati sebanyak 3.820 ekor. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh persamaan hubungan panjang-berat ikan selar bentong yang diukur yaitu W = 0,0092 L3,1857. Nilai b dari persamaan ini adalah 3,18 yang mengindikasikan bahwa pola pertumbuhannya bersifat isometrik. Ukuran pertama kali matang gonad (Lm) adalah 17,69 cmFL. Rasio kelamin antara betina terhadap jantan yaitu 1 : 1,2. Musim pemijahan atau bersifat multiple spawner diduga terjadi antara Bulan November – Februari.Bigeye scad (Selar crumenophthalmus Bloch, 1793) was one of the important economic species in the artisanal fishery in Kwandang waters North, Sulawesi. The aim of this study was to determine the biological reproduction of big eye scad in the Kwandang waters, Sulawesi Sea. Data collection of lengths and weights, sex, and the gonad maturity stage were done between January-November 2016. A total of 3820 specimens was collected al together and examined in the study. The result showed that length-weight relationship for big eye scad were W = 0,0092 L3,1857. The exponent values (b slope) of length-weight relationship of big eye scad was 3,185 indicating isometric growth pattern. The length at first maturity (Lm) for bigeye scad was 17,69 cmFL. The sex-ratio between female and male was 1 : 1.2. The spawning season was estimated between November and February (multiple spawner).

Largehead hairtail (Trichiurus lepturus) is one commodity fish catches with high production and value in Yogyakarta. The purpose of this research is to analyse reproductive aspects of this fish in coastal area of Bantul Regency. Yogyakar-ta. Those aspects are gonadal maturity level, fecundity, and the length at the first gonadal maturity. Fish samples are taken from the catch of fisherman using gillnet with a mesh sizes of 1.75 and 2 inches in the coastal fishing port of Depok and Samas. The fish collected from January to April 2016 with at least 30 individuals every two weeks. The samples are identified to find their sex and measured to know the length, weight, and gonadal maturity level (TKG). The data analyzed include length distribution, weight, sex ratio, gonadosmoatic index, length at the first gonadal maturity (Lm), fecundity and oocyte diameter. The result shows the fish length varies between 52.8 and 86.2 cm, and weight 115 and 567.2 g. The sex ratio between male and female was 1:0.6. Gonad maturity stage II and III are found every month observation while gonad maturity stage IV found in April. Oocyte diameter in the stage of gonadal ma-turity IV was 0.35-1.02 mm, there were two distribution modus so that the spawning expected partial spawner with fec-undity of 24.601 eggs with range was 12.873-33.534 eggs. Fecundity increased as parent’s body length with equation F= 0,434L2.60. Hairtail expected reaching the length of the first gonadal maturity in 65.55 cm, higher than the average captured, namely 63.4 cm. AbstrakIkan layur (Trichiurus lepturus) merupakan salah satu komoditas hasil tangkapan ikan di Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta dengan jumlah produksi dan nilai yang tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji aspek reproduksi yang meliputi: tingkat kematangan gonad, fekunditas, dan ukuran ikan kali pertama matang gonad layur di perairan pantai Kabupaten Bantul, Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. Abstract Stingray (Batoidea) are often caught as bycatch in south coast of Prigi waters. The stingray resource has very limited in number and require a long time to reproduce. Attention must be paid to avoid the extinct of stingray resource. This research aimed to justify species composition and identify length weight relationship, sex ratio, and clasper maturity level of stingray (Batoidea) caught in south coast of Prigi waters. The research was carried out from December 2019 to April 2020 at Prigi archipelago fishing port as landing place. This study used a quantitative descriptive method with the number of samples that were successfully obtained as many as 97 stingray. During the study, 6 species of stingray (Batoidea) were identified, namely Taiwan guitarfish (Rhinobatos schlegelii), blotched fantail stingray (Taeniurops meyeni), Japanese devilray (Mobula japanica), bluespotted maskray (Neotrygon kuhlii), shark ray (Rhina ancylostoma), dan bluespotted fantail ray (Taeniura lymma). Result indicated that Taiwan guitarfish (R. schlegelii) and bluespotted maskray (N. kuhlii) were two dominant stingray species in south coast of Prigi waters with proportion of 47.42% and 41.24% respectively. Disk width (Dw) and weight (W) of Taiwan guitarfish (R. schlegelii) ranged from 15.2 cm to 24.6 cm and from 268 gr to 1060 gr respectively and bluespotted maskray (N. kuhlii) ranged from 17.3 cm to 39.3 cm and from 140 gr to 2006 gr respectively. Another analysis showed that Taiwan guitarfish (R. schlegelii) and bluespotted maskray (N. kuhlii) had length weight relationship equations W = 0.0202 Dw34699 and W=0.0351*Dw29848 respectively. The sex ratio of Taiwan guitarfish Taiwan guitarfish (R. schlegelii) dan bluespotted maskray (N. kuhlii) was 1:1.4 and 1:1.2 respectively. In addition, clasper maturity level of the Taiwan guitarfish (R. schlegelii) and bluespotted maskray (N. kuhlii) species was dominated by Non-Calcification (NC). In conclusion, The stingray (Batoidea) caught in south coast of Prigi waters were dominated by Taiwan guitarfish (R. schlegelii) and bluespotted maskray (N. kuhlii). Length weight relationship of Taiwan guitarfish (R. schlegelii) and bluespotted maskray (N. kuhlii) was allometric positive and isometric respectively. Both of them was in balance condition sex ratio and was dominated by immature stage. Hence fishing activities in south coast of Prigi waters should avoid the stingray as bycatch in order to preserve the stock.

Biology of the spotted barb Barbodes binotatus (Valenciennes, 1842) in Barambai River, east Kalimantan is unknown. This study aimed to analyses sizes of fish, sex ratio, length-weight relationship and condition factor of the spotted barb. A total of 347 fish samples were collected by several gears in Barambai River from August to October 2017. The results of this research showed that the total length of the fish ranged from 45.67 to 146.01 mm and weight ranged from 1.27-43.34 g. The sex ratio of male and female were 1:1.12. The length-weight equations for males was W = 1x10-5 L3.063, W = 8x10-6L3.108 for females, and W = 9 x 10-6 L3.091 for both sexes. The condition factor (K) for the spotted barb was ranged between 0.826 – 2.214 with mean value of 1.163.  AbstrakBiologi ikan wader bintik dua Barbodes binotatus (Valenciennes, 1842) di Sungai Barambai, Kalimantan Timur belum diketahui. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa panjang total ikan berkisar dari 45,67 sampai 146,01 mm dan bobot tubuh berkisar 1,27- 43,34 gram. Nisbah kelamin jantan dan betina 1: 1,12. Model hubungan panjang bobot ikan jantan W = 1x10-5 L3,063, ikan betina W = 8x10-6L3,108,dan keseluruhan jenis ikan W =  9 x 10-6  L3,091. Faktor kondisi (K) ikanwader bintik dua berkisar antara 0,826 - 2,214 dan rata-rata 1,163.

The study was carried out to determine length-weight relationship and sex ratio of a freshwater fish Amblypharyngodon mola (Hamilton 1822) collected from Dekar haor of Sunamganj district during the period of January to August 2017. A total of 2000 fishes were collected for the study and categorized these fishes into three groups namely males, females and combined sexes. Among 2000 mola 777 were male and 1223 were female. Length-weight equations and the correlation coefficients obtained for males, females and combined ones were: males Y = –1.97 + 3.00X, r = 0.883; females Y = –2.30 + 3.41X, r = 0.914 and combined Y = –2.11 + 3.16X, r = 0.904. Female’s A. mola attained more weight with the increases in length. Value of correlation coefficient ‘r’ was 0.883 for male and exhibited highly positive correlation between length and weight. On the contrary, ‘r’ value for female was 0.914 and it had also strongly positive correlation between length and weight relationships. Length-weight relationship of A. mola for male, female and combined sexes showed allometric pattern of growth. Condition factor ‘K’ for male, female and combined sexes was 1.09, 1.05 and 1.06, respectively and indicated better condition of fishes. The highest sex ratio (1 : 2.05) was found in May and the lowest (1 : 1.33) was in February. Dominance of females over males throughout the year was observed with an average ratio of male and female 1 : 1.57. Therefore, results of the study indicate that the existing hydrobiological conditions of the haor are conducive for food availability, free movement, feeding and better growth of the fish. Asiat.
