As a result of the analysis, it was revealed that social networks (Vkontakte, Facebook), thematic communities in microblogging networks (Twitter), resources for travelers (TripAdvisor), transport portals (Autostrada) are a source of up-to-date and operational information about the traffic situation, the quality of transport services and passenger satisfaction with the quality of levels of transport services. However, the existing transport monitoring systems do not contain software tools capable of collecting and analyzing traffic information located in the Internet environment. This paper discusses the task of building a system for automatically retrieving and classifying road traffic information from transport Internet portals and testing the developed system for analyzing the transport networks of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. To solve this problem, an analysis of open source libraries for thematic data collection and analysis was carried out. An algorithm for extracting and analyzing texts has been developed. A crawler was developed using the Scrapy package in Python3, and user feedback from the portal http://autostrada.info/ru was collected on the state of the transport system of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol. For texts lemmatization and vector text transformation, the tf, idf, tf-idf methods and their implementation in the Scikit-Learn library were considered: CountVectorizer and TF-IDF Vectorizer. For word processing, Bag-of-Words and n-gram methods were considered. During the development of the classifier model, the naive Bayes algorithm (MultinomialNB) and the linear classifier model with optimization of the stochastic gradient descent (SGDClassifier) were used. As a training sample, a corpus of 225,000 labeled texts from the Twitter resource was used. The classifier was trained, during which the cross-validation strategy and the ShuffleSplit method were used. Testing and comparison of the results of the pitch classification were carried out. According to the results of validation, the linear model with the n-gram scheme [1, 3] and the vectorizer TF-IDF turned out to be the best. During the approbation of the developed system, the collection and analysis of reviews related to the quality of transport networks of the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol were conducted. Conclusions are drawn and prospects for further functional development of the developed tools are defined.

The problems of improving the quality of public urban transport services, environmental protection, and public health in large cities and megacities have taken the leading place among the issues on the agenda of public administration bodies, as well as of non-governmental and international organisations. This context determined the study on the significance, modern conditions, problems, and development outlook regarding the urban public transport in Yerevan.Important part of the population of the Republic of Armenia lives in the city of Yerevan. Main economic activity of the Republic, as well as urban and private transport facilities are most concentrated in the capital city. The total number of vehicles circulating in the city on working days exceeds 300 thousand units.Urban public transport of Yerevan plays an important role in ensuring the normal life of residents and guests of the city. At the same time, several serious socio-economic problems are associated with transport, which are aggravating while the economy develops and the volume of cargo, passenger transportation and motorization of the city grows. Such problems, first, include the growth of the number of road traffic accidents, then, serious environmental degradation in the areas adjacent to the highways and in other districts of the city.In recent years, it has become obvious that the solution to those problems goes beyond the competence and responsibility of the city hall or of any single ministry and requires focusing the efforts of the number of government bodies and of the public at large. The objective of the study is to identify the main factors affecting the efficiency and safety of urban public transportation, as well as the impact of road traffic on the environment in Yerevan.Their identification will improve the quality of transport services and transportation safety, as well as reliability of vehicles and of their service properties, reduce their environmental impact, and develop a unified integrated effective and viable system of measures towards a comprehensive and effective solution of transport problems of public urban transport.

The article presents the results of approbation of the methodology for assessing the quality of public service by urban passenger transport of municipal routes, which are assigned to commercial enterprises under the new management model, regarding the city ofMoscow. The model provides for provision of services of regular transportation of passengers and baggage on the basis of public contracts with city administration. According to the results of a previously performed hierarchical cluster analysis, where the Euclidean distance with a single rule for cluster unification was used as a measure of proximity using the Ward method, ten routes were selected for assessment. Key parameters for assessment the quality of provided services comprised accessibility of stopping points, of social facilities, of transport facilities for people with disabilities, information facilities, price affordability, comfort, optimal passenger capacities of vehicle, and ecological friendliness. Conclusions have been drawn that the level of quality of transport services for passengers inMoscowis high.

A properly functioning public transport is one of the most important components of urban mobility for the population. Due to spatial inhomogeneity and overall socio-economic differences within a city, there are often considerable disproportions in the quality of transport services within its districts. Also, the city of Krakow is no exception in this case. For a comparison of public transport accessibility in 18 Krakow districts, 7 major quantitative and 5 minor indicators were created. These indicators include the most important characteristics of transport services such as accessibility, frequency, connectivity of connections, and ratios of tram public transport subsystem. The resulting values give a fairly comprehensive picture of the quality of the transport services. Overall higher values for most indicators occur in the central districts of the city. However, due to the complexity of the observed characteristics, it is possible to discover significant differences in the structure of individual indicators. Peripheral districts reach higher amplitudes, which means that in some aspect they have even better transport services than the city center. Yet, at the same time, we also find opposite extremes here, highly below-average values for most other indicators. A detailed analysis of the results provides a unique perspective on the disparities among districts. It can also serve for specific identification of strengths and weaknesses of transport services and its possible optimization.

Purpose The purpose of this paper is to investigate the relationships between public transport services and the financial needs. Cities require to be equipped with public transport networks as they are primarily responsible for creation of wealth for countries and to ensure sustainability of urbanization. Once decisions have been taken to design, build and operate such networks, it is equally important to set rules for urban transport financing. Depending on the city size and other factors, authorities allocate resources. Nonetheless, is there a relationship between the size of the city and its public transport financial needs? This paper develops a model to explain such relationships. Design/methodology/approach The study develops a spatial model, while providing intuition through the use of graphs, to solve the question of the amount of resources allocated for financing the transport services. Findings It is verified that those financial needs are more than proportional to the size of the city; when a city grows in its number of boroughs, economic funds needed to support public transport have to increase in a greater proportion in comparison to the growth of boroughs growth. The model states a formula valid for explaining the financial needs. Originality/value The model is interesting as it explains why large metropolitan areas need special financial aid from authorities. Real life shows that big cities like Paris, Berlin or Madrid need extraordinary funds for this purpose, and in most of the cases, specific national laws are required for financing public transport networks in these large metropolitan areas.

Public transportation is one of the sustainable form of transportation which provides mobility options for the people. The public transport services are very basic need of people’s lives, especially in developing world. It is the basic means for mobility of a large percent of people and hence it is the driving force of economic and social life. Quality of service, characterized by the Level-of-Service (LoS) is one of the major factors determining the demand for public transport. This study tries to determine the city-wide Level-of-Service provided by the public transport system using the service level benchmarks as a case study of Trivandrum city. The indicators for determining the Level-of-Service used in the study are presence of organized public transport system, availability or extend of public transport supply, service coverage, average waiting time, level of comfort in public transport and the fleet availability. This approach can be used to determine the LoS at the city-level and thus provides a measure for identifying the public transport quality of an urban area.

The issues of assessing the quality of transport services to the population of Moscow in relation to the field of health care and priorities for its development are considered. It is noted that at the moment in Moscow there are no officially approved standards of transport accessibility to outpatient clinics. In view of this circumstance, a methodology for assessing transport accessibility, which is easily adaptable to specific values of normative indicators, is proposed. It is based on the use of the average value of this indicator for a group of buildings located in a certain area of compact population. As such value, the time of the route to the clinic from the geometric center of the territory under consideration is selected. The variants of application of this technique for existing and planned to enter polyclinics on the territory of Moscow are given. The proposed method for assessing the transport accessibility of state health-care organizations of Moscow makes it possible to assess not only the current situation, but also to predict changes in the quality of transport accessibility of certain areas due to the commissioning of new clinics.

The stable development of public bus transport includes the improvement of the social, economic and ecological aspects of its activity or increasing its social effectiveness through improving the quality of offered transport services, reducing energy consumption, using energy sources more effectively and reducing the harmful effects on the environment. Public bus transport is the most commonly used type of ground transport in the city of Sofia; in recent years, unfortunately, the quality of its services has dropped and its harmful influence on the environment has grown. This is primarily caused by obsolete vehicles and the lack of adequate measures for improving its social and economic effectiveness. The present article substantiates the necessity for its future stable development and outlines the measures for improving the quality of the transport services it offers as well as reducing harmful emissions. In order to support the study’s topicality, it should also be pointed out that similar goals and objectives set in the Declaration for reducing harmful emissions, creating conditions for the use of renewable energy and attracting green investments, which Sofia joined during the World Conference for Climate Change held in Paris in December 2015.

The aim of this paper is to determine, based on conducted marketing research, the level of passenger satisfaction with public transport services for the purpose of making better marketing decisions in the example of the City of Belgrade. The main task is to test the hypothesis on the existence of significant influence of factors, such as quality service, attitude and behaviour of employees (e.g. driver), adequate informing, quality of vehicles, line routes and timetable, on passenger satisfaction. Correlation coefficient and regression analysis were used for interpreting the obtained results and examining the formulated hypothesis. Empirical research has shown that there is a significant correlation between the aforementioned factors and passenger satisfaction with public transport services. The obtained results provided recommendations and guidelines for improving and increasing the quality of public transport services. The research results also provide the basis for future research that could examine the relationship between passenger satisfaction with services and sub-groups within the analyzed factors.
