Bronchial asthma is the most common chronic disease in children affecting 30% of the child population. The purpose of this review was to analyze and summarize the works of foreign and Russian authors who evaluated the impact of mental disorders on the course of asthma in children. The article presents the definition of asthma as a psychosomatic disease and relevance of the study against this background. The authors adduce the results of research studies which allow us to estimate the interaction between the degree of anxiety, accentuation of the nature, severity of asthma, and the duration of the disease. The existing publications demonstrate that the researchers' opinions are polarized regarding the cause-and-effect relationship between psychological disorders and controlled asthma. The authors came to a conclusion that early detection of psychopathological symptoms and appropriate psychotherapeutic administration would improve the efficacy of treatment in children with bronchial asthma and the social adaptation, adjust the system of family relations, and have a positive effect on the course of the disease.

Abstract Parents who serve as trustees, and solicitors who draft trusts that involve family relations, may need to address whether parents are free to entertain conflicts and benefits that may be attributable to parent status. I discuss in broad terms the kinds of conflicts and benefits that normally should not be objectionable. The definitive consideration is the social definition of when parent access is a limited access.

In view of the low likelihood of the acceptance of the social science approach to alcohol problems proposed several years ago, a “common sense” approach is suggested as an alternative. Several assumptions guide this proposal, the principal one being the absence of any significant progress in the reduction of alcohol problems in the United States over the past 200 years. By the development of a common vocabulary and direct methods of observation and data collection, the “common sense” approach would provide for identifying the strengths of the multitude of past and current efforts in dealing with alcohol problems in terms of both intervention and prevention. The guiding criterion in such an approach would be the impact on alcoholism and alcohol-related problems, the definition of which would be a major task of the research.

We discuss the influence of social adaptation on life success in orphans and children left without parental care when entering into an independent life. We provide the definition of the social adaptation in terms of psychology and law, review recent research findings of Russian scientists on social adaptation of children, as well as data on vital dispensation of graduates of orphanages. It is emphasized that the beginning of an independent life causes high stress, that children often cannot find their place in life and develop the mechanisms of behavior that contribute to the successful inclusion in public relations, quality education and the formation of family values. Thus, the most important condition for the successful entry of the child into an independent life is social integration into society, learning the rules and norms of behavior of society, the motivation for productive activities, education and the creation of a strong family and parenting. We provide the results of a study aimed at identifying coping strategies of behavior in stressful situations, adaptation features, as well as the level of anxiety in children-orphans and children left without parental care.

The article deals with characteristics of urban public spaces, their role in the global transformation of the social relations system is determined. The ambiguity of assessing the impact of globalization on modern cities is due to the theoretical and methodological problems of modern sociological urbanism. There is no single approach among scientists to defining the concept of urban public space, which determines the relevance of the study of its interpretation and definition of essential properties. Public spaces are considered as a connecting element between the system and social levels of urban research, which correspond to the levels of integration identified by the modern sociologist E. Giddens. The article analyzes classical and modern approaches to the study of public space, there is reveals the course of evolution of sociological thought in relation to the formation of differentiation of types of spaces within cities. Based on the analysis of the works of modern sociologists and urbanists, such key features of public spaces as openness, socio-political neutrality, and symbolism were identified. Global processes and contradictions lead to an aggravation of the problem of the presence of the category of “Others” within public urban spaces, which are representatives of various segments of the population, with a variety of claims and interests. One of the consequences of the intensive development of digital technologies is a possible situation of “competition for the citizen” between traditional public spaces and online services. Assumptions are made about future transformations of social relations within public spaces as a result of the impact of the COVID-19 coronavirus pandemic.

The article presents the results of an anthropological analysis of the social life of a modern family. It is immersed in deep socio-economic and demographic problems, which are complicated by the impact of globalization and information technology. Analyzing the transformational processes of family relations, the author comes to the conclusion that in the modern family there is “alienation” of generations, the gap between parents and children, which affects the traditional ethno-confessional foundations of the family. We are talking about the foundations of the national mentality of the peoples of the region about intergenerational relationships between children and their parents, the transformation from a macro-family to a nuclear one.

The major socio-economic and cultural changes of the last few years emphasize the necessity for a fast adaptation of University, which puts its rigid structure to the test. The social dimension of the Bologna Process must be considered from a strategic perspective, that is, we must analyse the impact of the policies aimed at correcting the deficiencies noticed by the interest groups, in relation to the degree of completion of the mission of universities. The current definition of the concept of Social Responsibility and its models of divulgation represent an opportunity to integrate the social aspects of the process of change as these are included within the triple perspective. In this sense, we must study the social dimension in a wider framework which is the University Social Responsibility. The mission of university is defined in most cases in terms of Social Responsibility; however, the tools for internal control do not evidence the connection between the key factors for Social Responsibility and the degree of accomplishment of university's mission. For this reason, we propose a strategy map which shows the causal relationships of those factors which have a bearing on such accomplishment.
The central topic of the study was to examine the possibilities of adaptation of the labor force to the structural shifts and conditions of the market economy from the period of the early 1990-s to nowadays in Russia. A large amount of statistical material was used to analyze the professional qualifi cation and educational structure of the employed and unemployed, the change in the social role of occupation. The author focuses on such the most signifi cant form of adaptation as regulated – changes in the educational and professional level of the labour force. The following spontaneous forms of employment were considered: informal employment (the analysis of empirical data of their professional and educational structure was also carried out); internal labor migration; a model of social economy was proposed in the form of a self-organizing labor force based on the experience of some countries. Prospects for change are considered taking into account the arrival of a new generation, its diff erences compared to previous generations, as well as in the light of the impact of institutional and historical factors.
