ABSTRACT Neurologist and psychiatrist Kurt Goldstein (1878-1965) made substantial contributions to neuropsychology in general and to the development of tests for the assessment of brain damage sequelae in particular. Unlike present-day neuropsychology’s psychometric orientation, Goldstein kept a critical distance to a mere quantitative evaluation. Eighty years ago, he impressively demonstrated his own, qualitatively oriented diagnostic approach both in a remarkable monograph and in a didactic film, in collaboration with psychologist Martin Scheerer (1900-1961). By modifying a classical paradigm for the assessment of deficits in visuospatial construction, the Block Design Test, the two authors developed the Goldstein-Scheerer Cube Test. This version characterizes itself by offering the patient different types of cues in order to reveal the nature of the deficit at stake. The test remains an impressive illustration of Goldstein’s most famous neuropsychological concept, viz. the human ability to abstract from a concrete situation: the abstract (or categorial) attitude.

The study aimed to evaluate the efficiency of nutrient use in three cactus forage (CF) cultivars (Opuntia stricta and Nopalea cochenillifera), 365 days after planting under different types of fertilizer in two research sites (Condado and Riachão) of the semi-arid region of Paraiba state, Brazil. The experimental design was a randomized block design with treatments in a factorial scheme (3×4), three cultivars of CF (Orelha de elefante Mexicana; Miúda; Bahiana), and four fertilizer treatment (Control; Manure; Manure with Nitrogen; Mineral fertilization) with four replications. The CF cultivars did not differ significantly in nutrient use. That means of physiological efficiency by CF cultivars were 1.62, and 2.36 kg of biomass per kg of nutrient applied in Condado and Riachão, respectively. The efficiency of nutrient recovery was 16% for the Condado, according the following order: K> P> Ca> N> C = Mg and 12% for Riachão: K> P> N> C = Ca = Mg. In the two research sites, the treatment with mineral fertilization significantly increased the efficiency use of N, P and K in comparison to the other treatments. The average for efficiency of nutrient utilization was 25% and 19% for Condado and Riachão, respectively, in the following order for Condado: K> P> N> Ca = Mg> C, and Riachão: K> P> N> C> Mg = Ca. In a CF production system aiming to obtain a yearly harvest cycle, it is necessary to replenish of K and P to maintain the nutritional balance between the soil and CF plant.

The human ability to infer other people's knowledge and beliefs, known as 'theory of mind', is an essential component of social interactions. Theory of mind tasks activate frontal and temporoparietal regions of cortex in fMRI studies. However, it is unknown whether these regions are critical. We examined this question using multivariate voxel-based lesion symptom mapping in 22 patients with acute right hemisphere brain damage. Studies of acute patients eliminate questions of recovery and reorganization that plague long-term studies of lesioned patients. Damage to temporoparietal and inferior frontal regions impaired thinking about others' perspectives. This impairment held even after adjustment for overall extent of brain damage and language comprehension, memory, comprehension, and attention abilities. These results provide evidence that right temporoparietal and inferior frontal regions are necessary for the human ability to reason about the knowledge and beliefs of others.

The aim of the present study was to determine effects of both, different types ofcytoplasm (cms-C, cms-S and fertile) and environmental factors on the kernel rownumber of 12 maize inbreds lines. The trial with inbred lines was set up in twolocations (Zemun Polje-Selection field and Zemun Polje-Školsko dobro) in 2013and 2014. Moreover, the three-replicate trials were set up according to therandomised complete block design within each type of cytoplasm. Each plot withinthe replicate consisted of four rows. Fertile versions of inbred lines were sown intwo border rows and they were pollinators for their sterile counterparts. Statisticbiometricdata processing was based on mean values per replicate and included theanalysis of variance. According to this analysis, significant differences in thekernel row number were established among inbred lines in dependence on the typeof cytoplasm, year and the location. The average kernel row number ranged from10.3 (L9) to 15.8 (L5 and L7). The variation of the kernel row number, related to thesource of cytoplasm, was very significant. Differences (Lsd0.01) in the kernel rownumber were not determined in inbred lines L5, L8, L10 and L12 in regard to the typeof cytoplasm: cms-C, cms-S and fertile. The average kernel row numbersignificantly (P1%) varied in regard to the year of investigation. A higher averagevalue (13.75) was established in 2014 than in 2013 (13.31). The kernel row numberper year very significantly varied (Lsd0.01) in all inbreds, but the differences werenot significant in the inbreds L2, L3, L8, L9 and L12. Gained results point out toeffects of different types of cytoplasm on the kernel row number.

The research was carried out in Dolog Masagal Subdistrict, Simalungun Regency, altitude ± 1.100 m above sea level. The research was conducted from January to May 2019. The purpose of this study was to determine the tolerance level of several hybrid corn varieties to cob rot disease. Methods for conducting the research used randomized block design (RBD) with 1 factor. Types of hybrid corn varieties tested were: Pioneer 29 (V1), NK 99 (V2), Pioneer 12 (V3), NK 22 (V4), Pioneer 4 (V5), Nusantara I (V6), Asia 1 (V7).The parameters observed were: plant height, cob diameter, cob length containing seeds, number of seed rows per cob, number of seeds per row, number of seeds per cob,  husk cover in cob, cob rot intensity, the amount of dry production per plot, and the weight of 1.000 seeds. Based on the research results, different types of hybrid corn varieties produce different tolerances of cob rot resistance in the Simalungun highlands. The most tolerant variety of cob rot disease is Pioneer 29 (mild damage scale = 0 - 10%). Different types of varieties planted also affect various components of growth and production, among others: plant height, number of seeds per row, number of seed rows per cob, husk cover on cob, dry production per plot, and weight of 100 grains. As for the parameters of cob diameter, cob length containing seeds and the number of seed rows per cob, the difference in varieties did not significantly affect.

Background: Even if both phonological and semantic cues can facilitate word retrieval in aphasia, it remains unclear if their respective effectiveness varies according to the underlying anomic profile.Aim: The aim of the present facilitation study is to compare the effect of phonological and semantic cues on picture naming accuracy and speed in different types of anomia. Methods: In the present within-subject design study, 15 aphasic persons following brain damage underwent picture naming paradigms with semantic cues (categorically- or associatively related) and phonological cues (initial phoneme presented auditorily, visually or both). Results: At the group level, semantic cueing was as effective as phonological cueing to significantly speed up picture naming. However, while phonological cues were effective regardless of the anomic profile, semantic cueing effects varied depending on the type of anomia. Participants with mixed anomia showed facilitation after both semantic categorical and associative cues, but individuals with lexical-phonological anomia only after categorical cues. Crucially, semantic cues were ineffective for participants with lexical-semantic anomia. These disparities were confirmed by categorical semantic facilitation decreasing when semantic/omission errors prevailed in the anomic profile, but increasing alongside phonological errors. Conclusion: The effectiveness of phonological vs semantic cues seems related to the underlying anomic profile: phonological cues benefit any type of anomia, but semantic cues only lexical-phonological or mixed anomia.

We investigated a group of 376 children, seen over a period of 7 years with different types of congenital cardiovascular defects, to assess the presence of chromosomal aberrations. The diagnostic approach, achieved in 3 consecutive steps, revealed conventional chromosomal aberrations in 30 of the patients (8%) excluding trisomies 13, 18, 21. Fluorescence in situ hybridisation for microdeletions showed 51 microdeletions (15%), with 43 patients having deletions of 22q11.2, 7 patients with deletion of 7q11.23, and 1 patient with deletion of 4p16.3. In 23 patients with additional clinical abnormalities, we carried out a subtelomeric screening. This revealed, in two cases (9%), different subtelomeric aberrations, namely deletions of 1p and of 1q. Thus, subtelomeric screening proved to be a very valuable as a new diagnostic approach. Our approach to genetic investigation in three phases makes it possible to detect a high rate of pathologic karyotypes in patients with congenital cardiovascular malformations, thus guaranteeing more effective genetic counselling of the families, and a more precise prognosis for the patient.

Nereis  sp. contains amino acids and unsaturated fatty acids that can improve the quality of gamete stem cells and the quality of the resulting larvae. Nereis  sp. can increase gamete cell maturation in the parent shrimp up to 70%. This triggers the exploitation these worms excessively in nature since there are no cultivation efforts to meet their needs. This condition encourages research on the biological aspects of Nereis  sp. to complement the information that can support the cultivation of the worms. This research was conducted on Nereis  sp. from the Jeruklegi Cilacap area with different types of feed. This study aims to determine the metabolic rate of the worms Nereis  sp. at different sizes by giving different types of feed. This research use immature Nereis  sp. which was maintained at 15 ppt salinity with three different body weight (0.3-0.6 g; 1.1-1.3 g and 1.8-2.04 g) with three different types of feed (D0 feed, feed flour of Spirulina sp. and ornamental fish feed tetra blitsz). The study was conducted experimentally with a randomized block design (RBD) method with six replications. The results showed the rate of oxygen consumption of Nereis  sp. influenced by the size and type of feed given (P<0.05). Nereis  sp. with size of 0.3-0.6 gr indicates the highest metabolic rate.  Nereis  sp. fed with flour of Spirulina sp. shows the highest metabolic rate.  Appropriate feed to support the growth of Nereis  sp. is D0 and tetra blits (low fiber feed).

An experiment was conducted at the Horticulture Farm of Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh during the period from March 2017 to June 2017 with a view to evaluate the effect of different types of fertilizer and netting on the growth and yield of okra. The experiment consisted of 4 levels of fertilizer following cow dung 15 t/ha (F1), inorganic fertilizer (NPK) (F2), combined application of cow dung (2/3) + inorganic fertilizer (1/3) (F3), control (F4) and 2 levels of mosquito netting (N0 = control with no netting, N1=blue colour Netting). The experiment was laid out in Randomized Complete Block Design (RCBD) with 3 replications. Overall, the growth like plant height, leaf length, pod length, pod diameter and pods numbers of okra was found higher from the combined effect of F3N1 which was significantly different from other treatments combination. The lowest growth and yield of okra was found from the treatment combination of F4N0 (control). First flowering were observed in F3N1 at 39 days after planting of okra seeds. The control treatment without net gave the lowest production of okra compared to combination of inorganic fertilizer and cow dung with netting.  In case of fertilizers effect, the highest yield (16.06 t/ha) was found from F3.  Blue colour net gave the highest yield (10.99 t/ha) compared to without net (8.88 t/ha). The highest yield of okra (17.55 t/ha) was found from the combined effect of F3N1 which was 78.52% higher compared to control treatment combination F4N0 (3.77 t/ha).
