ABSTRACT Objectives: to develop and validate an obstetric surgical safety checklist for intraoperative care. Methods: this is a methodological study with two phases: integrative review in databases, using selection criteria and descriptors to synthesize the evidence and develop the checklist; checklist content validation, with 37 judges, who answered a Likert-type questionnaire. For analysis, a >85% content validation index was applied. Results: the checklist’s first moment reached a 96.1 content validation index; the second moment, 95.5; the third moment, 98.9. Thus, the validation index of all verifying sections present in the three surgical moments was 97.1. Cronbach’s Alpha value was 95.57%. Conclusions: the checklist items were validated by judges, with improvement of some items and insertion of others.

The article examines the conditions of production and recognition of scientific cinema in Brazil by comparing three distinct moments and contexts: the first moment takes place in the nineteenth century, and it is related to the contribution of a Brazilian astronomer otherwise little known to Brazilian film scholars, the second addresses Benedito Junqueira Duarte’s voluminous mid-twentieth-century filmography, and the third moment documents recent scientific film experiences within ultra high resolution movies transmitted over photonic networks. Future trajectories for aesthetic concerns and practical issues such as the archiving of ultra high definition cinema are usefully informed by these histories of scientific cinema, even as a current generation of multidisciplinary teams including scientists, filmmakers, computer scientists, and network engineers reinvent, rediscover, and necessarily expand the scientific cinema toward concerns of real time collaboration and teaching.

We discuss the moments of the recently measured spin-dependent structure function, [Formula: see text], of the proton. Using the operator product expansion and an effective equation of motion, we show that the third moment can be related to the first moment.

ABSTRACT Objective: to elaborate and validate the content and appearance of an educational game regarding healthy lifestyle habits for adolescents Method: methodological study carried, in 2016 out in Picos (Brazil). In order to develop the initial version of the game, a survey gathered scientific information and the content. In the end, the game was divided into: home screen and the living room, kitchen and the square scene, where the sports scene was inserted. To validate the instrument, 15 experts were selected, who evaluated the content, didactics and appearance of the game. Ten adolescents evaluated the appearance and usability. In addition, one questionnaire was used for the specialists and another for the adolescents. The Content Validation Index was used to validate the game, which considered the instrument and the items as validated when an index ≥ 0.78 was obtained. Results: the room scene had access to the kitchen and the square. The sport scene was designed for physical activity and the purchase of food, which would be consumed in the kitchen scene. The experts gave the game a Content Validation Index of 0.88 for the item "objectives", 0.87 for "structure and presentation" and 0.99 for "relevance", reaching a overall Content Validation Index of 0.89. For adolescents, the item "appearance" reached the index 0.97 and for the other items, 1.0 and overal index of 0.99. Conclusion: the game was validated in terms of content and appearance and could be validated clinically with adolescents as an incentive to adopt protective behaviors for their health.

An output signal from a multi-section wireless relay communication system is equal to the product of the signal envelopes from individual sections. In this paper, a three-sections relay system is considered in the presence of Nakagami-m fading at each section. First, random variable (RV) is formed as the product of three Nakagami-m RVs. For such product, the moments are determined in the closed forms. The first moment is the mean of the signal; the second moment is the average power of the signal, and the third moment is skewness. Then, the Amount of Fading (AoF) is calculated. AoF is a measure of the severity effect of fading in a particular channel model. Besides, all system performance are shown graphically and the parameters influence has been analyzed and discussed.

Objective: to elaborate and validate the content and appearance of an algorithm for treating infiltration and extravasation of non-chemotherapy drugs and solutions administered to children. Method: a methodological study of the technology formulation and validation type. To elaborate the algorithm, a bibliographic review was carried out to list the scientific evidence on the treatment of infiltration and extravasation. Content and appearance validation was in charge of 14 specialists in pediatric nursing, using the Delphi technique, adopting a value equal to or greater than 0.80 as Content Validation Index. Results: the algorithm was validated in the third evaluation by the judges, reaching a Global Content Validation Index of 0.99, being composed by the perception of the occurrence of the complication; discontinuation of intravenous therapy infusion; verification of signs and symptoms; measurement of edema; application of an infiltration and extravasation assessment scale and conduits to be used according to the characteristics of the fluid administered and the type of complication. Conclusion: the algorithm was validated and can be used in a practical and objective way by health professionals, in order to promote safety in the care of hospitalized children, with regard to reducing harms caused by infiltration and extravasation.

We engage with David Andolfatto (2018) on the theme. The two approaches are alleged to have converged in regarding banks as creators of money in the process of initiating lending. We synthesise insights from different factions of the French camp of political economy to make the case that heterodoxy is richer than this claim. Money as an asset-liability is the wage fund in the “first moment” of the monetary circuit. The accumulation of capital is the “second moment” in the sequence, recorded in a separate account at the bank or supported by a financial institution. The “third moment” is the closing of the accounts of demands and supplies generated by the first two moments. Régulation Theory is a related internally-consistent conceptual structure which tracks modes of production as they evolve in history. We dwell on the constructive aspects of the programme as scholars stitch together elements of the present and develop an apparatus to grapple with the emerging new regime of production and distribution. The private sector and state are joined and the bank-central bank is a continuum. Finally, the class structure in the heterodox approach goes deeper than agent heterogeneity.

AbstractClosed expressions for the first, second, and (in some cases) the third moment of atomic transition arrays now exist. Recently a method has been developed for getting to very high moments (up to the 12th and beyond) in cases where a “collective” state-vector (i.e. a state-vector containing the entire electric dipole strength) can be created from each eigenstate in the parent configuration. Both of these approaches give exact results. Herein we describe astatistical(or Monte Carlo) approach which requires onlyonerepresentative state-vector |RV> for the entire parent manifold to get estimates of transition moments of high order. The representation is achieved through the random amplitudes associated with each basis vector making up |RV>. This also gives rise to the dispersion characterizing the method, which has been applied to a system (in the M shell) with≈250,000 lines where we have calculated up to the 5th moment. It turns out that the dispersion in the moments decreases with the size of the manifold, making its application to very big systems statistically advantageous. A discussion of the method and these dispersion characteristics will be presented.

If, as Chapter 12 argues, much of Bonhoeffer’s resistance thinking remains stable even as he undertakes the novel conspiratorial resistance, what is new in his resistance thinking in the third phase? What receives new theological elaboration is the resistance activity of the individual, which in the first two phases was overshadowed by the resistance role played by the church. Indeed, as this chapter shows, Bonhoeffer’s conspiratorial activity is associated with what he calls free responsible action (type 6), and this is the action of the individual, not the church, in the exercise of vocation. As such, the conspiratorial activity is most closely related to the previously developed type 1 resistance, which includes individual vocational action in response to state injustice. But the conspiratorial activity differs from type 1 resistance as individual vocational action in the extreme situation.

The aim of this research was to develop multiscale questionnaire of professional identity (PI) and to test its psychometric properties. This research was conducted in 3 phases. During the first phase a scoping review, a focus group discussion, and a rapid literature review were conducted to identify the criteria of PI. Survey items were constructed and assessed in the second phase. The data were collected, and the psychometric properties were examined in the third phase. The survey was completed by 239 psychological help providers in Latvia (psychiatrists (n = 13), nurses (n = 37), psychotherapists (n = 8), art therapists (n = 45), psychologists (n = 55), psychotherapy specialists (n = 28) and social workers (n = 53)) aged between 22 and 80 years (M = 45.8; SD = 10.6) of which 95% women (n = 227) and 5% men (n = 12). As a result, 8 factors structure was confirmed (k = 38). Overall, it can be concluded that the survey examines a unified phenomenon, and the items are internally consistent on all scales (α = .715 - .873). The development of this questionnaire is an important step towards the research of PI.
