ABSTRACT Objective: To identify the nursing staff’s difficulties in providing care in psychosocial rehabilitation to CAPS users. Methods: Qualitative study based on constructionism. Sixteen members of the CAPS nursing staff participated in the study in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The data collected in the interviews and observations were organized in Nvivo software and analyzed based on thematic content. Results: The difficulties identified were: the territorial violence that imposes a silence to the actions of CAPS, low user education as a barrier to protagonism, impaired family adhesion, the technical-conceptual discomfort of nursing in acting in the crisis and material and human of CAPS dismantlement. Final considerations: The challenges consist of overcoming staff exhaustion; however, they do not prevent nursing from betting on the possibility of protagonist care. Therefore, such care is dimensioned by the clinical-political-ethical relation in constant negotiation with the territory.

In this quantitative and qualitative study, we present our analysis on the interactions and conversations of ten families during a visit to the Museum of the Universe, at the Planetarium Foundation of the City of Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). The study of conversations provides a considerable opportunity to address gaps in our current understanding on how families interact and learn in museum environments. The visits were recorded using a subjective camera, and the audiovisual material was analyzed based on a research protocol that combines theoretical and empirical aspects of the visitors’ museum experience. We identified that most of the interactions during the visit occurred between family members and between them and the exhibition, through interactive activities and moments of contemplation. Parents/caregivers played an important role in maximizing the children's learning opportunities as they interacted and talked about the exhibits. The conversations were related to science topics, especially astronomy, as well as aspects on how to operate the exhibition modules. The results suggest that the Museum of the Universe has become a platform for families to share experiences, discuss and develop specific ideas, knowledge and concepts about astronomy, enriching the group members’ awareness.

Objective: To evaluate the incompatibilities of intravenous medications in cardiac patients admitted to a cardiac intensive unit, associating possible incompatibilities with the severity and characteristics of the adverse event. Method: Cross-sectional, observational, and quantitative study, held in a Cardiac intensive Unit of a University Hospital in the city of Rio de Janeiro. Data collection took place from March to June 2018. Micromedex® identified and classified drug incompatibilities. Results: We analyzed 111 prescriptions with a total of 1,497 prescription drugs, the average number of prescription drugs was 13.49 (6 ± 24), 580 (38.74%) intravenously in which 41.38% were administered simultaneously with another medicine. The study showed 121 incompatibilities and the drug classes that had the highest number of incompatibilities were diuretics, hypnotics and sedatives, cardiovascular stimulants (vasoactive amines), antibiotics for systemic use, corticosteroids for systemic use, cardiovascular vasodilators, and antiarrhythmic agents. We highlight the incompatibilities classified as moderate, furosemide with hydrocortisone, and midazolam with omeprazole, and severe fentanyl with amiodarone. Conclusion: The study highlights the importance of medication scheduling and administration by the nursing team based on pharmacological knowledge. We expect that the chart of recommendations prepared in the study with nursing care related to incompatibilities with greater potential for severity and its events can contribute to drug safety. Among contact sports, the practice of martial arts offers a greater risk of causing dental trauma and fractures as contact with the face is more frequent. The primary objective of the research is to evaluate the incidence of mouthguard use, and the secondary objective is to verify which type has a greater predominance and the difficulties in its use correlating to the type of mouthguard used. A documentary study was carried out with 273 athletes of different contact sports, among them: MMA, Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu-Jitsu, and Taekwondo of the city of Campos dos Goytacazes, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It was concluded that the most commonly used mouthguard is PB Boils and Bites - Type II and its level of approval is poor, interfering with the athletes’ performance, mainly in relation to the breathing factor.
