Abstract Background: This study was motivated by the need of understanding how the relationship of the training with the national health system is treated, both in the sphere of health services and the aca-demic area. This work aims to contribute to the debate on the inclusion of the physiotherapist in SUS (Brazil's NHS) by pointing out issues that need to be deepened in future studies. Purpose: To analyze the national literature production on the relationship between the training of therapists and their work in SUS, from 1996 to 2010. Methods: Descriptive research with literature on the bases: LILACS, SCI-ELO Bank and CAPES thesis. Results: We found 13 publications, sorted by: year, publication type, region where it was published in the categories "national curriculum guidelines," "professional respon-sibility", "integrality in health" and "conceptions of teachers in training in Physiotherapy ". There no publishing from 1996 to 2005, gradually increasing from this year. It was identified a higher number of articles compared to other types of publications; there is also an important difference between the Brazilian regions, with higher prevalence of studies in the South (53.8%) and a greater number of pub-lications in the category "national curriculum guidelines". Conclusion: It was possible to raise ques-tions that involve the applicability of the National Curriculum Guidelines on the pedagogical courses; suitability of teachers to the reality of SUS; investigation of the models covered in health care envi-ronments trainers, and the lack of contribution by higher education institutions on teaching-research and teaching and public service, contributing to form an important agenda of study. {#}

Introduction:Specialized Component of Pharmaceutical Service (SCPS) is a strategy to access high cost medicines in the National Health System (NHS) of Brazil, ensuring the completeness of medical treatment in which lines of care are defined in the Clinical Protocols and Therapeutic Guidelines (CPTG). To access the SCPS, the physician has to give to the patient a filled form, following some requirements and the CPTGs. In order to improve rational prescription and to facilitate patients’ access to medicines, we visited physicians and presented key information regarding the CPTGs of rheumatoid arthritis (RA) and the SCPS medicines request process; then, we sought to know their perceptions.Methods:From August to September 2017, 43 specialists and general practitioners that prescribed medicines of SCPS in Minas Gerais were visited by researchers about the CPTG of RA and how to prescribe to provide easier access to these medicines to their patients. After the visits, a researcher contacted the physicians by phone to evaluate their satisfaction with the visits and about the program through a brief questionnaire.Results:Twenty-eight physicians answered to our phone call, providing a response to the questionnaire. Sixty-eight percent indicated they were very satisfied with the visit. Fifty percent stated that the content of the visit was relevant to their practice, and 60.7 percent said that the distributed material was going to be useful for their professional practice. Regarding the guidelines, 43 percent affirmed that the visit really helped them to improve their understanding of medicine requests in the NHS and 42.9 percent said that the visit increased their understanding of which patients are eligible for RA treatment in the SCPS; 57.1 percent of those affirmed that the visits increased their knowledge.Conclusions:The physicians, who were mostly specialists, already had knowledge about CPTG and prescription practices of SCPS’s medicines, nevertheless, they showed interest in the visits to review and improve their knowledge and clinical practice.

This article examines the evolution of public health policies in Brazil after 1985, when the democratic transition process began at the end of the military rule, and their impact on the professional practice of psychologists. Brazilian social policies of this period and the construction and development of the Unified Healthcare System – SUS (the Brazilian National Health System) are reviewed, as the context for the discussion of the inclusion of psychologists into public health. Issues such as the suitability of traditional clinic models of practice to public health services, questions concerning the academic training and the limits imposed by social policies for the practice are discussed.

The article presents the main indices of the morbidity - the general prevalence and incidence in the Republic of South Ossetia over the period from 2012 to 2016 for the main classes, groups and specific types of diseases, as well as for individual socio-demographic groups: the population over 18 years and children aged up to 18 years. Statistical data of the total incidence for 2012-2015 in The Republic of South Ossetia is considered in comparison with similar indices of the Russian Federation. The material reflecting the ranking of incidence rates per 100 thousand of the population is presented. The analysis of the morbidity, the study of statistical indices of the morbidity, both general prevalence, and incidence, as well as the dynamics over the period of 2012-2016, are the key reference points for the development of a corresponding resource for the emerging national health system of the Republic of South Ossetia. This is of particular interest in the implementation of the integration in cooperation between the Republic of South Ossetia and the Russian Federation.

Abstract: Introduction: Considering an integrated curriculum that is guided by dialogical competence according to the National Curriculum Guidelines, the Systematized Educational Unit (UES) and the Professional Practice Unit (UPP) constitutes the curriculum of a medical course in a municipality in the countryside of the state of São Paulo, Brazil. Problem-Based Learning (PBL) is used in the UES and the problematization is used in the Professional Practice Unit as teaching methodologies, seeking an organization that leads to a training that is coherent with the public health sector and the national education scenario. The UES is the focus of this study because we observed that there are divergences among teachers regarding their role as tutors. Thus, we observed that the teaching methodology currently employed at Famema led us to some questions: Do the teachers consider themselves qualified to work with the PBL method? How do evaluations contribute to the teaching-learning process? Thus, this study aimed to analyze the teachers’ understanding of their ability to work with the PBL and the relevance of evaluations for the teaching-learning process in the UES. Method: This is an exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out using a semi-structured interview with teachers who work with the 1st to 4th years in the UES of the medical course, and the selection of the participants was carried out from a non-probabilistic sample of intention, totaling 16 teachers, including four teachers of each of the first four years of the course. The analysis of the data was performed by Content Analysis in the thematic modality, which allowed the definition of two thematic axes: Challenges for teacher training and Potentials and limits of the implemented evaluation process. Results: The trajectory of the PBL in the teaching-learning process from the point of view of teachers showed us a variety of understandings. As for teacher training, weaknesses were identified in the development of the tutoring process, and that the strategies used for training need to be reviewed regarding their implementation and the inclusion of the professionals into the process. Regarding the evaluation, it was observed that the teachers demonstrate difficulties in carrying out an evaluation of the students while integrating the affective, cognitive and psychomotor dimensions. Conclusion: Therefore, regardless the time of the curriculum implementation, Permanent Education should constitute a powerful space for teacher training and process management.

Abstract Introduction: The course pedagogical projects (CPPs) of physical therapy programs in Brazil are based on National Curriculum Guidelines for Physiotherapy (NCGP) and the principles of the National Health System (SUS). The CPPs that guide professional training tend to use a biopsychosocial approach and propose familiarizing undergraduate students with the International Classification of Functionality, Disability and Health (ICF); as such, they should include the use of this instrument. Objective: Assess CPPs by exploratory document analysis and determine whether they propose teaching and using the ICF in student training. Method: Qualitative-quantitative study with document analysis of CPPs for physical therapy courses in Midwest Brazil, from which information related to the ICF was extracted. Results: The biopsychosocial model and NGCP were identified in the 10 CPPs analyzed and the ICF was found in the curriculum outline of 6 of these, indicating the incorporation of this framework in student training. However, the ICF was only identified in the course objectives and literature references of 4 and 2 CPPs, respectively, suggesting possible shortcomings in its application in these documents. Conclusion: The inclusion of the ICF in some CPPs indicates a positive change and favors understanding of functioning, but does not preclude the need for a broader approach to teaching this classification framework in the remaining CPPs in order to provide student training within a biopsychosocial context.

Context.— In 2008, the Joint Commission (JC) implemented a standard mandating formal monitoring of physician professional performance as part of the process of granting and maintaining practice privileges. Objective.— To create a pathology-specific management tool to aid pathologists in constructing a professional practice-monitoring program, thereby meeting the JC mandate. Design.— A total of 105 College of American Pathologists (CAP)–defined metrics were created. Metrics were based on the job descriptions of pathologists' duties in the laboratory, and metric development was aided by experience from the Q-Probes and Q-Tracks programs. The program was offered in a Web-based format, allowing secure data entry, customization of metrics, and central data collection for future benchmarking. Results.— The program was live for 3 years, with 347 pathologists subscribed from 61 practices (median, 4 per institution; range, 1–35). Subscribers used 93 of the CAP-defined metrics and created 109 custom metrics. The median number of CAP-defined metrics used per pathologist was 5 (range, 1–43), and the median custom-defined metrics per pathologist was 2 (range, 1–5). Most frequently, 1 to 3 metrics were monitored (42.7%), with 20% each following 4 to 6 metrics, 5 to 9 metrics, or greater than 10 metrics. Anatomic pathology metrics were used more commonly than clinical pathology metrics. Owing to low registration, the program was discontinued in 2016. Conclusions.— Through careful vetting of metrics it was possible to develop a pathologist-specific management tool to address the JC mandate. While this initial product failed, valuable metrics were developed and implementation knowledge was gained that may be used to address new regulatory requirements for emerging value-based payment systems.
