In the past years, most traditional item analysis only analyses difficulty and discrimination of each item, and test analysis only analyses overall test reliability and validity. As a result, EFL educators are lack of information on students’ response data for both students’ learning styles and item types in test questions preparation. Thus, the study presents the various item types of the English achievement assessment of Junior High School Students in Taiwan, and illustrates the various learning styles of the EFL students. The participants were randomly selected from one thousand four hundred and forty two junior high school students, who participated in Taiwan Assessment of Student Achievement in Junior High School English (TASA) held by National Academy for Educational Research (NAER). The data was analyzed based on the dichotomous scoring and the Student-Problem Chart Analysis. The result of Caution Index for Students shows that high achievement students account for one third of the sample students. However, the other students were classified as learning abnormality, inattention learning, and lack of learning adequateness, insufficiency learning, and lack of academic ability. Also, the result of caution index for problems shows that the test items of English Achievement Assessment were capable of measuring the English achievements of junior high school student and it also can differentiate high achievers from the low achiever in Taiwan. To improve the further test question preparation, only partial revisions are suggested for National Academy for Educational Research (NAER).

This study aimed to build self-confidence for high school students in Al-Mafraq Governorate in Jordan following the Item Response Theory (IRT). The scale included its initial version (50) items. To ensure the external validity of the scale, it was reviewed by several experts. According to the experts’ feedback, some items should be deleted or modified. The final version of the scale included (44) items. The scale was further applied to an experimental sample of (310) male and female students to verify psychometricians’ characteristics. Finally, the scale was administered to a sample of (1060) male and female high school students in Al-Mafraq Governorate. Data were collected, coded, and analyzed using statistical programs (SPSS and WINSTEPS). The most important results were the following: the self-confidence measure was one-dimensional, which means it measures only a single dimension. The results further revealed identical to the partial estimation model, and the index of average matching of individuals and the external and internal items approached zero, and the standard deviation approached the correct one. The estimated values of the distinct thresholds for the scale items showed a clear discriminatory ability and the emergence of particular threshold scores on the scale. After deleting the paragraphs that did not fit the study's model, the scale's final version included 39 items. The results also showed that the transfer values of logistical capacity units were within (-2.88 -2.77), within the IRT's accepted range.

The aim of this study was to determine the effect of learning techniques and self confidence of students' speaking skills in Indonesian discussion. This research was conducted on the students of the 107th class of the 17th National Senior High School Palembang in 2017 by using factorial experimental design technique 2 x 2. Type of research conducted is experiment technique analysis which was used Analysis of variance (ANAVA) two ways at level of significance 0,05.The results of this study indicated that mind mapping techniques were more effective than problem-based learning techniques, and then there was an interaction effect betweenStudents' speaking skill in Indonesian discussions by using mind mapping technique and students learning by using problem-based techniques, probability values M_learning (0.795) Ë‚0.05. The mean value of learning with mind mapping technique is greater than the average value of learning with problem-based technique (84.89) Ë‚ (80.89).

As a result of the study, when the “Study and Learning Strategies” of the students are examined according to school types; It has been determined that there is a significant difference in the sub-dimensions of “Repetition” and “Enjoying Learning”. It has been observed that there is a significant difference between male and female students in “Repetition” and “Self-Confidence” sub-dimensions according to the gender of the students. There is no significant difference between the levels of 9th and 12th grade students studying at Science and Anatolian High Schools according to their grade levels.
