The relevance of the research processes filtration consolidation due to the place of water-saturated soils in various design solutions related to the exploration, production and transportation of hydrocarbons. It should be noted that the diversity of soils led to the emergence of a wide range of mathematical models, obtained on the basis of generalization of experimental data and various assumptions to simplify engineering calculations. The article presents the results of theoretical and experimental studies of the mathematical model of the consolidation process of a water-saturated porous medium. This model is based on simplifying assumptions that are different from those adopted in well-known solutions. A fundamental approach to the formation of the model was developed on the basis of the kinetic representations of chemical reactions used in solving the environmental problems of epoxidation reactions of olefins. We determined the parameters of the mathematical model of the consolidation process of the saturated porous medium of clayey soil and confirmed its adequacy by the research results. In addition, we established the parameters of the field of non-equilibrium filtration, reducing the nonexistent ability of water-saturated soils.

The Department of Railwayand Road Transport, lift and care system of Volodymyr Dahl East Ukrainian National University, an energy-saving cooling system for diesel locomotives using phase transitions of the coolant has been developed. The proposed cooling system allows to maintain constant optimal temperatures of cooling objects at ambient temperatures ± 40 ºC and in any mode of operation of the diesel engine. For thermal calculation of the radiator section operating in the mode of the steam condenser, the mathematical model of process of heat transfer from steam to walls of a flat tube at condensation is developed that considers geometrical features of section of a tube. The adequacy of this mathematical model is verified by comparing the simulation results with the obtained experimental data. During the tests, the outlet water temperature, inlet and outlet air temperature, and air pressure in front of and behind the radiator were measured. Having the values of wall temperature, steam temperature and condensate, knowing the value of steam consumption and the experimental heat transfer coefficient, it becomes possible to verify the adequacy of the mathematical model by comparing the simulation results with the obtained experimental data. Schemes of bench equipment, test methods, experimental planning and basic calculation dependences required for testing serial radiator sections of a locomotive in the standard mode of operation and in the mode of steam condensers are presented.

The article deals with the development of a physical model of a car equipped with measuring, recording and remote control equipment for experimental study of car properties. A detailed description of the design of the physical model and of the electronic modules used is given, links to application libraries and the code of the first part of the program for remote control of the model are given. Atmega microcontroller on the Arduino Uno platform was used to manage the model and register the parameters. When moving the car on the memory card saved such parameters as speed, voltage on the motor, current on the motor, the angle of the steered wheel, acceleration along three coordinate axes are recorded. Use of more powerful microcontrollers will allow to expand the list of the registered parameters of movement of the car. It is possible to measure the forces acting on the elements of the car and other parameters. In the future, it is planned to develop a mathematical model of motion of the car and check its adequacy in conducting experimental studies on maneuverability on the physical model. In addition, it is possible to conduct studies of stability and consumption of electrical energy. The physical model allows to quickly change geometric dimensions and mass parameters. In the study of highway trains, this approach will allow to investigate the various layout schemes of highway trains in the short term. It is possible to make two-axle road trains and saddle towed trains, three-way hitched trains of different layout. The results obtained will allow us to improve not only the mathematical model, but also the experimental physical model, and move on to further study the properties of hybrid road trains with an active trailer link. This approach allows to reduce material and time costs when researching the properties of cars and road trains. Keywords: car, physical model, experiment, road trains, sensor, remote control, maneuverability, stability.

Accurate estimation of sideslip angle is essential for vehicle stability control. For commercial vehicles, the estimation of sideslip angle is challenging due to severe load transfer and tire nonlinearity. This paper presents a robust sideslip angle observer of commercial vehicles based on identification of tire cornering stiffness. Since tire cornering stiffness of commercial vehicles is greatly affected by tire force and road adhesion coefficient, it cannot be treated as a constant. To estimate the cornering stiffness in real time, the neural network model constructed by Levenberg-Marquardt backpropagation (LMBP) algorithm is employed. LMBP is a fast convergent supervised learning algorithm, which combines the steepest descent method and gauss-newton method, and is widely used in system parameter estimation. LMBP does not rely on the mathematical model of the actual system when building the neural network. Therefore, when the mathematical model is difficult to establish, LMBP can play a very good role. Considering the complexity of tire modeling, this study adopted LMBP algorithm to estimate tire cornering stiffness, which have simplified the tire model and improved the estimation accuracy. Combined with neural network, A time-varying Kalman filter (TVKF) is designed to observe the sideslip angle of commercial vehicles. To validate the feasibility of the proposed estimation algorithm, multiple driving maneuvers under different road surface friction have been carried out. The test results show that the proposed method has better accuracy than the existing algorithm, and it’s robust over a wide range of driving conditions.

Abstract The article discusses the issues of reducing the size of the cooling unit of the antenna of a radar station by improving the gas-dynamic processes occurring in the air-cooling unit. The results of the experimental studies of the gas flow in a plate-fin heat exchanger, being blown by one axial fan are presented. The feasibility of changing the number of axial fans for organizing a more uniform flow around the heat-exchange surfaces has been determined by calculation and theoretical methods. The calculation results are confirmed by experimental studies of the air flow in the segment of the heat exchanger, which is provided by a smaller fan.

Abstract Clearance is inevitable in the kinematic joints of mechanisms. In this paper the dynamic behavior of a crank-slider mechanism with clearance in its tripod-ball sliding joint is investigated theoretically and experimentally. The mathematical model of this new-type joint is established, and the new concepts of basal system and active system are put forward. Based on the mode-change criterion established in this paper, the consistent equations of motion in full-scale are derived by using Kane method. The experimental rig was set up to measure the effects of the clearance on the dynamic response. Corresponding experimental studies verify the theoretical results satisfactorily. In addition, due to the nonlinear elements in the improved mathematical model of the joint with clearance, the chaotic responses are found in numerical simulation.
