In the Institute for Laser and Plasma Technologies of NRNU MEPhI a compact spherical tokamak MEPhIST (MEPhI-Spherical Tokamak) for educational, demonstration and research purposes is under development and construction. The creation of plasma diagnostics systems involves several stages, determined by the successive complication of the plasma researchtasks, the upgrading of the device and the development of educational and methodological material for laboratory work to be put at the tokamak. Working out in situ methods of plasma-surface interaction analysis is one of the main scientific and technological goals of this tokamak. The complex of diagnostics described in the paper provides complementary information about the processes occurring at plasma with surface contact, is a set of very informative and well-tested diagnostic tools that allow students to obtain visual and reliable information about the processes occurring in the discharge chamber of the tokamak.

This study explores the use of a new protocol in hypertension care, in which continuous patient-generated data reported through digital technology are presented in graphical form and discussed in follow-up consultations with nurses. This protocol is part of an infrastructure design project in which patients and medical professionals are co-designers. The approach used for the study was interaction analysis, which rendered possible detailed in situ examination of local variations in how nurses relate to the protocol. The findings show three distinct engagements: (1) teasing out an average blood pressure, (2) working around the protocol and graph data and (3) delivering an analysis. It was discovered that the graphical representations structured the consultations to a great extent, and that nurses mostly referred to graphs that showed blood pressure values, which is a measurement central to the medical discourse of hypertension. However, it was also found that analysis of the data alone was not sufficient to engage patients: nurses' invisible and inclusion work through eliciting patients' narratives played an important role here. A conclusion of the study is that nurses and patients both need to be more thoroughly introduced to using protocols based on graphs for more productive consultations to be established.

Unmanned aerial systems (UAS) has many advantages in the fields of SURVAILLANCE and disaster management compared to space-borne observation, manned missions and in situ methods. The reasons include cost effectiveness, operational safety, and mission efficiency. This has in turn underlined the importance of UAS technology and highlighted a growing need in a more robust and efficient unmanned aerial vehicles to serve specific needs in SURVAILLANCE and disaster management. This paper first gives an overview on the framework for SURVAILLANCE particularly in applications of border control and disaster management and lists several phases of SURVAILLANCE and service descriptions. Based on this overview and SURVAILLANCE phases descriptions, we show the areas and services in which UAS can have significant advantage over traditional methods.

ABSTRACTPulsed Laser and Sputter Deposition are used for the fabrication of complex oxide thin films at relatively high oxygen pressures (up to 0.5 mBar). This high pressure hampers the application of a number of in-situ diagnostic tools. One of the exceptions is ellipsometry. Using this technique we studied in-situ the growth of off-axis sputtered Yba2Cu3O6+x thin films on (001) SrTiO3 as a function of the deposition parameters. Furthermore, the oxidation process from O(6) to O(7) has been studied by performing spectroscopic ellipsometry during isobaric cooling procedures.Another suitable in-situ monitoring technique for the growth of thin films is Reflection High Energy Electron Diffraction (RHEED). In general this is a (high) vacuum technique. Here, we present an RHEED-system in which we can observe clear diffraction patterns up to a deposition pressure of 0.5 mBar. The system has been used for in-situ monitoring of the heteroepitaxial growth of YBa2Cu3 06+x on SrTiO3 by pulsed laser deposition.
