Abstract-The present study was motivated by the author’s eagerness to investigate the effectiveness about  techniques of puzzle games in understanding the concept when learning social sciene at Junior High School of 40 Bandung. This research was aimed to explain the ability of understanding the concept when learning social sciene before and after applying the techniques of puzzle games, explaining the effect from techniques of puzzle games when learning social sciene, and showing the effectiveness from techniques of puzzle games when learning social sciene. The study employed quasi experimental study with the design of pretest-posttest control group. According to hypothesis test showed the difference between the ability of understanding the concept social sciene at experimental class and the capability at controlled class, after the experimental class being given techniques of puzzle games treatment when learning social sciene. Consequently, it can be conclude that implementing the techniques of puzzle games was really effective to be used in understanding the concept when learning social sciene.Keywords: Techniques of puzzle games, The understanding of concept, Sosial sciene.

The misconception of the Solar System topic is still found in students so that it becomes one of the obstacles in the learning process. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effectiveness of the implementation of Predict-Observe-Explain-Apply (POEA) learning to change the junior high school students' conception in the Solar System topic. Quasi-experimental research with the non-equivalent control group design was conducted in one of the private junior high schools in Bandung city. Samples were selected based on the test of the average significance of the pretest score of the population. Furthermore, 30 students of the experimental class and 32 students of control class were selected. The research instrument, which consisted of 15 four-tier diagnostic test questions about Solar System were used to collect data before and after treatment. The tests were analyzed quantitatively by using the Mann-Whitney statistical test to determine the significance of the difference in the acceptable conception changes (Acceptable Change) of students in the experimental class with changes in the conception of students in the control class. The results of the research show that the implementation of POEA learning is significantly more effective than POE learning in changing the conception of Solar System topic. The findings of this study can be an alternative for junior high school teachers in planning learning about the Solar System, especially in an effort to change students' misconception about the Solar System.

The objective of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of SQ3R strategy on students’ reading comprehension at State Junior High School 2 of Bululawang. The study used quantitative method with quasi-experimental design because there were two different groups for the samples namely experimental and control group and also the researcher gave different treatment for both experimental and control group. For experimental group the researcher taught by using SQ3R strategy while for control group the researcher taught by using skimming-scanning strategy. The researcher took VII A as control group and VIID as experimental group by using flipping coin. The instrument of this study was a reading test conducted twice as a pretest and post-test and the supporting instrument was a questionnaire. The results of hypothesis test showed that significance value was 0.000. So, there was a significance effect of SQ3R strategy on students’ reading comprehension at State Junior High School 2 of Bululawang. In other words, SQ3R strategy was effective and applicable for seventh grade students at State Junior High School 2 of Bululawang specifically on descriptivetext. Indeed, this strategy is recommended for teachers and students in learning English especially in reading skill to increase the students’ reading comprehension and stimulate the students’ activeness during teaching-learning process. Concentration of learning is an effort to focus the mind or attention to a subject that is being studied and to memorize the Al-quran by setting aside other things that have nothing to do with what is being studied. There are some students who are easy to accept the lessons / memorize al-quran, and otherwise, there are several students too who have difficulty. Ash-Shidiqi Integrated Islamic Junior High School is a school that refers to the education office curriculum and the Indonesian Integrated Islamic School Curriculum with the flagship program Quantum Tahfizh, but in practice many students find it difficult to concentrate on memorizing Al-Qur'an. The results of interviews with students Ash-Shidiqi Integrated Islamic Junior High School, it is difficult to focus on their concentration in memorizing  Al-qur'an because the school environment is not conductive, this is beside the according with the observations of researchers that many students are looking for a place to be alone in memorizing Al-qur 'an and sometimes students was found  themselves to covering their heads with a bag to concentrate on memorizing. This type of research is quasi experimental (pseudo experiment). This study design had a control group, but it was not selected by randomly. In this study the researchers used two groups, namely the treatment group who were given brain exercise with a frequency of 6 times a week, light intensity, with duration of 1 exercise. The results showed that in the pre-test and post-test intervention groups there was p = 0.008 or p <0.05. It means that there are significant differences in the ability to memorize before and after being given brain exercise. Whereas in the control group p = 0.063 or p> 0.05 that means there is no significant difference between the pre-test and post-test results because they are not given brain exercise. This research is expected to make a good contribution to Ash-Shidiqi Integrated Islamic Junior High School in implementing the Quantum Tahfizh Program and will provide input in preparing the SMP-IT school program based on tahfizh al-quran

The aim of this study was to determine the biology learning outcomes of Grade VII students of Madani Junior High School of Makassar on the subject of diversity of living creatures that were learned with the Multiple Intelligence learning models. This type of research is quasi-experimental (quasi-experimental) using a pretest-posttest nonequivalent control group design. The population of this study were all VII grade students of Madani Junior High School of Makassar in the 2018/2019 school year consisting of 3 study groups totaling 67 students with a sample of 21 people in class VII2 and 21 people in class VII1.The results showed that the value of sig.count was 0.889 with sig.table (α) of 2.021. Thus it is clearly seen that the value of sig.calculate (0.889) <sig.table (2.021), means that H0 is rejected H1 is accepted, meaning it can be concluded that the biology learning outcomes of students taught by the Multiple Intelegences learning model have a positive effect on the material diversity of living things in Madani Junior High School of Makassar.

This research was conducted to produce a volleyball smash learning model and test its effectiveness for junior high school children. The development method adopts the development steps of Borg and Gall. Small group trials involve 15 athletes and 60 for large group trials. The development of the model begins with small trials, large trials and effectiveness tests. The effectiveness test used pre-post test with the instrument of the volleyball smash skills of junior high school students. The exercise model that was applied was tested for the significance of the difference and it was obtained that the t-test = 31,614, db = 32 and p-value = 0.00 <0.05, meaning that there were significant differences in the ability of students before and after they were given the volleyball smash learning model. It was concluded that existing moddel could be developed and applied in volleyball smash learning and effectively improved volleyball smash learning outcomes for junior high school students.

This research aims to find out the effect of using board game through TTW strategy on seventh grade students’ writing skill in descriptive text. Quasi-experimental design was implemented to the seventh grade in one of junior high school. The subject of this study was the whole population of seventh grade students in junor high school, in total 81 students. The data collection was taken from pre-test and post-test. The average score of experimental group is 73.81, and the average score of control group is 57.46. Moreover, the hypothesis test shows that Ho is rejected because tcounting (5.71) is higher than ttable (2.31). In TTW strategy the students collaborate between three activities those are Think, Talk, and Write. TTW strategy is more effective becausethe students have enough time in learning process in a class. Additionally, the result of this study indicates that using board game through TTW strategy gives significant effect for developing English writing skill.

This study aims to examine the effects of digital science scrapbook on students’ science visual literacy. Digital science scrapbook was designed to teach junior high school students, and the instrument was designed to measure the level of visual literacy before and after the treatment. This study employed a quasi-experimental one-group pretest-posttest design. The population was junior high school students. The convenience sampling method was chosen to carry out the pilot study on 25 students in SMP 9 Salatiga. The visual literacy course was based on the ACRL Visual Literacy Competency Standards. The differences in visual literacy levels were measured through 30 items of the visual literacy test. After conducting paired sample t-test on the data, differences between pretest and posttest were found. From the findings, significant differences in pretest and posttest scores were found. It can be concluded that digital science scrapbook is effective to train digital literacy in science. The novelty of this research is the use of digital science scrapbook on students’ science visual literacy.

Purpose of this study was to test a model of cooperative team assisted individualizd (TAI) in terms of the initial capabilities junior high school students. The subjects were students of class VII SMP Negeri Sekampung Lampung Province. This study is a quasi-experimental study(quasi-experimental)design Non-Equivalent Control GroupDesign.Learning achievement assessment instruments using essay test. The result of such assessment data is analyzed usingt-test with SPSS16.0 for Windows.The results showed no significant difference model of cooperative team assisted individualizd (TAI) and conventional models in terms of the ability of junior high school students beginning in the implementation of learning strategies IPS. Based on the difference between pretest and post-test showed that the average value gainscore experimental class (45.63) was higher than in the control group (30.02). The results of analysis of test data using independent sample t test showed that the model of cooperative team assisted individualizd (TAI) obtainedvalue probability(p-level) of less than 0.05 is the sig 0.00. ABSTRACT Background: Anemia is very common in developing countries and is one of the most common complications of serious diseases. Based on the results of screening the Hb levels student at islamic junior high school Miftahul Hayat in 2018, it was found that 37 students had anemia. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of cookies produced from moringa oleifera leaves on haemoglobin level in students at Islamic Junior High school Miftahul Hayat, Serang, Banten. Subjects and Method: This was a quasi-experimental. A sample of 37 students of MTS Miftahul Hayat, Serang, Banten and randomly allocated into two groups: intervention and control groups. The dependent variable was an increase in hemoglobin value. The independent variable was anemic student. The data were collected from checklist and analyzed using paired t- test. Results: The results of this study were obtained by respondents as many as 33 people because during the research process 4 people did not consume cookies produced from Moringa Oleifera leaves routinely for 14 days because they were sick so they were excluded from the study sample. Hb level before consume consume cookies produced from Moringa Oleifera leaves (Mean = 10.5 gr/ dl; SD= 0.56; p< 0.001). Hb level after consume cookies produced from Moringa Oleifera leaves (Mean= 13 gr/ dl; SD= 0.85). The difference in Hb levels (Mean = 2.5; SD = 0.88; p <0.001), and it was statically significant (p< 0.001) Conclusion: Consume cookies produced from Moringa Oleifera leaves is effective to improve haemoglobin levels in adolescent. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of behavioral counseling with modeling techniques to improve self achievement in class VII I Junior High School 3 Singaraja. This type of research is quasi-experimental with pre-test and post-test control group design. These samples included 68 students (male 34 and female 34, average age 12.5 years). Through random sampling, 34 students were placed in the experimental group who received treatment with behavioral counseling and modeling techniques, 34 students as a control group not received treatment. The results of the data analysis are the value of thit 2.978 > ttab 2.021 so that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. So there are significant differences. It can be concluded that behavioral counseling with modeling technique is effective for increasing self achievemet in class VII I Junior High School 3 Singaraja.Keywords: Behavioral Counseling, modeling, self achievement
