This research is motivated by the lack of ability of students in writing wawangsalan. The purpose of this study is to describe the ability to write wawangsalan students of class VIII-G SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung before and after using the model of learning brain writing, increase or not after using the models of learning brain writing, and the differences using the model of learning brain writing. The method used in this research is quasi-experimental method, using one group pretest and posttest design. Sources of data in this study were 30 students of class VIII-G SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung Academic Year 2018/2019. Techniques used are test techniques, while the instrument is a writing test wawangsalan. The results of this study are (1) the ability to write students wawangsalan VIII-G SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung before using the model make-up brain writing up the value of 43,2; (2) the ability to write wawangsalan after using the brain writing learning model on average to get the value of 76; (3) there is an increase in the ability to write wawangsalan after using brain writing model, from 34,2 to 76, mainly in aspects of the content and title relationship wangsal, and (4) there is a difference between the writing ability of wawangsalan before and after using the brain writing model. Based on statistical tests of significance values (Sig-2 tailed), namely (0,000 < 0,05) or less than 0,05. Which means that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected. This shows that the model of brain writing learning can improve students' writing ability of grade VIII-G SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung Academic Year 2018/2019. AbstrakPenelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya kemampuan siswa dalam menulis wawangsalan. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan menulis wawangsalan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model brain writing, meningkat, serta mendeskripsikan perbedaan antara kemampuan menulis wawangsalan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model brain writing. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kuasi eksperimen, dengan menggunakan desain one group pretest and posttest ke 30 siswa di kelas VIII-G SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019. Teknik yang digunakan yaitu tehnik tes, sedangkan instrumennya berupa tes menulis wawangsalan. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) kemampuan menulis wawangsalan siswa kelas VIII-G SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung sebelum menggunakan model pangajaran brain writing rata-rata memperoleh nilai 43,2; (2) kemampuan menulis wawangsalan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran Brain Writing rata-rata memperoleh nilai 76; (3) ada peningkatan kemampuan menulis wawangsalan sesudah menggunakan model brain writing yaitu dari 43,2 menjadi 76, utamanya dalam aspek hubungan isi dan judul wangsal; (4) ada perbedaan antara kemampuan menulis wawangsalan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model pembelajaran brain writing. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik nilai signifikansi (Sig.2-tailed) yaitu (0,000 <0,05) atau kurang dari 0,05. Dengan demikian, H1 ditarima serta H0 ditolak. Artinya, ada perbedaan yang signifikan antara kemampuan menulis wawangsalan sebelum dan sesudah menggunakan model brain writing. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran brain writing dapat meningkatkan kemampuan menulis wawangsalan siswa kelas VIII-G SMP Pasundan 4 Bandung Tahun Ajaran 2018/2019

The purpose of this study is to look for a significant influence on the application of using  Wattpad  as learning activities on students' ability to write descriptive texts. The main consideration is because an educator in this case should  used interesting instructional media, particularly to teach writing so that the potential of students can be developed optimally. Meanwhile the development of writing of English Department Students of Putera Batam University is still relatively low in quality. Wattpad is an applications which provides the students  an opportunity to write, promote and help their writing  reach acroos  the world. The design of the research was quasi-experimental research that want to find out the effect of  using Wattpad towards students  writing ability. To know students’ writing ability, this research uses writing test as Instrument. There are three pre tests and post tests. The pre-test were used to see students writing ability before having treatment and posttest are used to see the differences on students  writing ability after giving treatments. The subjects were the students of English Department of Putera Batam University who took writing class. The data found that  using Wattpad has a significant effect on student’s writing ability. This conclusion can be seen based on the analysis that has been done where the obtained Z score was smaller than critical value, the null hypothesis (Ho) was rejected and alternative hypothesis (Hi) was accepted. So, based on the results , it was concluded that there was statistically diffrence between the pre-test and post-test score at the 0.05 levels. It means that teaching writing  by using wattpad gives significant effect on students’ writing ability

Independence refers to the belief in the ability of oneself to solve problems without special assistance from others, reluctance to be controlled by others, can carry out their own activities and solve problems themselves. While the learning outcomes are changes in individual behavior that includes cognitive, affective, and psychomotor aspects. The researcher took class VIII MBI of MTs Mambaul Falah and showed the mathematic value of students exceeding KKM. This study was used to determine whether there is a correlation between the level of independence of learning and the learning outcomes of mathematics. The research approach used is a quantitative approach with a type of correlation. Based on the results of the study, the rtable value at ? = 5% and db = 15 is 0.514 so that rcount<rtable (0.279 <0.514) then the null hypothesis is accepted and the alternative hypothesis is rejected, the value is 0.279 and is located at 0.20-0.40 which indicates low interpretation. Learning writing is one of fourth skill of learning second language that must be mastered by students. For this reason the writers want to investigate and conduct the study in this field. The Statement of Problem “Is Picture Sequence effective towards students' ability in using conjunctionat the eight grade of MTs. Negeri Model Kota Sorong in the academic year 2016/2017?” the research design in this investigation is experimental research. The population of this study is students in MTs. Negeri Model Kota Sorong and has taken as sample were class VIII-G as a control group and VIII-D as the experimental group. In this study, the writer applies some steps for conducting the experiment, they were: observation, planning, treatment, and post-test. It was conducted in three meetings. To collect the data of this study, the writer using writingtest. Post-test was conducted to both of groups to see the differences between control and experimental groups and also to prove the writer’s hypothesis that picture sequences can give an impact to the students’ achievement instudents’ ability of using conjunction in writing. By using t-test formulation the writer gets value of t-observe 2.178 and the t-critical 0.05 is 2.021 It means that t-obs value is higher than the t-crit. In other word, it can be said that the alternative hypothesis ( H1) is accepted and null hypothesis (H0) is rejected, or it can be said that picture sequences as method that effective and applicable at the eighth grade of MTs. Negeri Model Kota Sorong towards students’ ability of using conjunction in writing narrative text.

The objective of this research was to find out whether the use of mind mapping technique is effective or ineffective in improving students’ engagement and interest in learning writing. The researcher employed quantitative method with the quasi-experimental design. The research was conducted to the fourth-semester students of English Study Program of IAIN Bone. The data were collected by using observation checklist, writing test, and questionnaire. The data from observation checklist were used to find out students’ behavioral engagement, in this case, students’ participation in experimental group which was taught writing subject through mind mapping technique. The writing test was given twice for both experimental and control group to investigate the students’ writing ability which shows students’ cognitive engagement before and after the treatment was conducted. It can be concluded that the use of mind mapping technique in learning writing is effective to increase students’ engagement and interest. Moreover, further analysis shows that students’ behavioral engagement is higher than students’ cognitive engagement and students’ expressed interest increases higher than other types of interest due to the technique used which was mind mapping technique.

The Aim of this research were to figure out the learning concept comprehension of students at class X at MAN Salidoin the academic year of 2016/2017 through Cooperative Studying Model Lottery Card Type (Arisan's Card). This was a quasi experimental research with Randomized Control Group OnlyDesign.The population of this research was of students at class X at MAN Salidoin the academic year of 2016/2017. Then, found that students as the experimental class and the control class. To get the class sample test done first then normality, its homogeneity and similarity in average for all classes of the population. After all the class known to normal, homogenous and have the same average then conducted the election of class sample randomly. Before testing the hypotheses, firstly applied the normality test and homogenety test to the sample. Then, tested the hypotheses by applying t-test formula. He got that test t (1,838) > tabel t (1,645) with 0,05 degree of freedom and with 95 % level of credence. Then he concluded that null hypothesis (H0) and the alternative hypothesis (H1) is accepted. So, the ability of the students in understanding Math Concept is higher through the Cooperative Studying Model Lottery Card Type (Arisan's Card) than the students taught through conventional learning.Keywords: Understanding on mathematic concept’s ability, learning model of cooperative (Lottery card).

This research was intended to analyze the effect of mind mapping towards students writing skill at the second semester students of FPBS IKIP Mataram in academic year 2015/2016. This study was quasi experimental research, where the sample was cluster randomly selected with the total number of sample was 65 students which were divided into 2 classes; 29 students were in the control group and there were 36 students belong to experimental group. In order to collect the research data, the writer used writing test to comprehend the students’ ability in managing text based on mind mapping concept. After the data was obtained, then it was analyzed by applying descriptive statistical analysis and inferential analysis. Regarding to the data analysis it was found that the students’ ability before treatment was 69.72 in the significant level 95%. On post-test data analysis, the students mean writing ability increased into 77.22. The inferential analysis or hypothesis testing also proved that the t-test was higher than t-table in the significant level 95% (α =0.05) and degree of freedom 63 (4.158 > 2.000) with ρ value (sig.) 0.00 < 0.05. It was clearly claimed that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) which stated that mind-mapping was effective towards students writing at second semester students of FPBS IKIP Mataram in academic year 2015/2016 was accepted and the null hypothesis (Ho) that said main-mapping is not effective toward students writing at second semester students of FPBS IKIP Mataram in academic year 2015/2016 was rejected. Those data evidently proved that mind mapping was effective towards students writing especially at second semester students of FPBS IKIP Mataram in academic year 2015/2016.

The objectives of this research were to find out (1) whether or not the use of Edmodo virtual class increases the motivation of the students of SMA Negeri 24 Karanrang island Pangkep in writing English and (2) the extent to which Edmodo virtual class increases students writing achievement. The population was all the students of SMA Negeri 24 Karanrang island at Pangkep regency in academic year 2018/2019. The students in this remote area were consisted of 30 students merely. Involving two classes (class X and class XI), selected by using total sampling technique, this research employed quasi experimental design (15 students as experimental class that was taught by using Edmodo virtual class and 15 students as control class that was taught by lecturing way). The data then collected through questionnaire (of writing motivation) and writing test, then analyzed through descriptive statistics and inferential statistic (SPSS) program version 22. The result gained from the data analysis showed that (1) the use of Edmodo virtual class in writing motivation was significantly different from the existing way. (2) The use of Edmodo virtual class in writing achievement increases the students writing achievement

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> This study aims to determine the effectiveness of PBL with thinking map on the mastery of the concept and students' scientific literacy in digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and respiratory system in human. This quantitative study involved 94 students consisting of 3 classes, namely 31 students of class VIII C, 31 students of class VIII E and 32 students of class VIII A SMP Negeri 5 Jombang academic year 2018/2019. The results showed PBL assisted thinking map effective on mastering the concept of content dimensions and against scientific literacy in digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and the respiratory system. The results of statistical tests showed that there were differences in the mastery of concepts and scientific literacy skills before and after using PBL assisted by thinking map on digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and the respiratory system. The conclusion of this study is that problem-based learning assisted by thinking map has an effect on both mastery of science concepts and science literacy so that students are effectively used in junior high school on digestive system material, additives and addictive substances, and the respiratory system.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui keefektifan PBM berbantuan <em>thinking map</em> terhadap penguasaan konsep IPA dan literasi sains siswa SMP pada materi sistem pencernaan, zat aditif dan adiktif, dan sistem pernapasan pada manusia. Penelitian kuantitatif ini melibatkan 94 peserta didik terdiri atas tiga kelas, yaitu 31 peserta didik kelas VIII C, 31 peserta didik kelas VIII E dan 32 peserta didik kelas VIII A SMP Negeri 5 Jombang tahun ajaran 2018/2019. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan PBM berbantuan <em>thinking map</em> efektif terhadap penguasaan konsep dan literasi sains pada materi sistem pencernaan, zat aditif dan adiktif, dan sistem pernapasan. Hasil uji statistik menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan penguasaan konsep dan kemampuan literasi sains sebelum dan setelah menggunakan PBM berbantuan <em>thinking map</em><em>. </em>Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah pembelajaran berbasis masalah berbantuan <em>thinking map</em> berpengaruh baik pada penguasaan konsep IPA dan literasi sains siswa sehingga efektif digunakan di SMP pada materi sistem pencernaan, zat aditif dan adiktif, dan sistem pernapasan.

This quasi experimental research aims at looking at the effect of Journal Writing technique on students’ ability in writing a paragraph.  Specifically, the research answers the research questions about the students’ ability in writing, the effect of Journal Writing technique on the students’ ability in writing, and the students’ attitude toward Journal Writing technique applied in their Writing class. The sample are one class from the second semester of English Department students in 2017-2018 academic year. The data were collected through writing test and the distribution of a set of questionnaire. The results show that nearly 60% of students’ ability ini writing is at  Average to Good level before the treatment. After the treatment, 56.76% of their ability is at Good to Excellent level. To test whether the increased score is statistically significant or not, the data were analyzed using t-test. Having t-obs (8.26) which is higher than t-table (2.030), it can be said that the teaching of writing using Journal Writing technique significantly effects the students’ ability in writing paragraph. The data from questionnaire support the previous findings where nearly 64% students have ‘high’ attitude toward Journal Writing technique applied in their class.

This research principally aims to find out whether or not there is significance effect of using flashcard on students’ vocabulary acquisition. the research was conducted from 3th to 29th November 2016 at SMPN 45 Bekasi, in the Academic Year of 2016/2017.The research methodology adopted was quasi experimental method, with the research design being randomized post test only control group design. The statistic method used to analyze the data was ANOVA using SPSS through the testing of Null Hypothesis, which was preceded by the normality and homogeneity test as the pre-requisite to the data analysis. The result of ANOVA showed significance value was 0,000, which was lower than 0,05, and that Fobserved ( 35,926 ), which was higher than the critical value of Ftable (at the significance level of 0.05 and df = 1/58, namely 3.982. Accordingly, the Null Hypothesis (Ho), stating that there is no effect using flashcards on students’ vocabulary acquisition at SMPN 45 Bekasi, was rejected and the Alternative Hypothesis (Ha), stating that there is significance effect using flashcards on students’ vocabulary acquisition at SMPN 45 Bekasi was accepted.On the basis of the rejection of Ho and acceptance of HA, it can be concluded that flashcards has significance effect on students’ vocabulary acquisition at SMPN 45 Bekasi. In other words, the research has empirically proved that there is significance effect of using flashcard on students’ vocabulary acquisition at SMPN 45 Bekasi.
