This study aims to design and develop the feasibility of scientific approach-based students’ worksheet to improve four graders’ problem-solving skills on surrounding environment issues. This study was conducted using Research and Development (R&D) method which produces scientific approach-based students’ worksheet. Practicality of this students’ worksheet based on learning practice showed excellent result. This scientific approach-based students’ worksheet can be used to teach and improve students’ problem-solving skills on surrounding environment in the fourth grade of Elementary School. This case is proved by good performance of students in solving problems related to their surrounding environment with a percentage of 81% which shows very high category.

The background of this study is the fact that there are still many teachers who have not yet independently developed students’ worksheet. Whereas, it is a must for teachers to be able to develop students’ worksheet independently because students’ worksheet must be developed based on not only curriculum but also the level of students' ability and the condition of learning environment which are known only by teachers. This study aims to describe the feasibility of scientific approach-based students’ worksheet to improve four graders’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment issues. In detail, the objectives of this study are classified into three, which are: (1) To describe the validity of scientific approach-based students’ worksheet to improve four graders’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment issues, (2) To describe the practicality of the use of scientific approach-based students’ worksheet to improve four graders’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment issues, (3) To describe the effectiveness of the use of scientific approach-based students’ worksheet to improve four graders’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment issues. This study was conducted using Research and Development (R&D) method which produces scientific approach-based students’ worksheet. The design of this study is pretest-post test control group design. The instrument used in this study were observation sheet, test, questionnaire and validation. The data was analyzed using quantitative analysis technique with statistical formulas and qualitative analysis technique with description. The results of this study indicate that the created scientific approach-based students’ worksheet is feasible to use in teaching and learning activities. The validation results warranted that this students’ worksheet is feasible to be implemented in teaching and learning with little revision with a percentage of 96.3%. Practicality of this students’ worksheet based on learning practice showed excellent result. This was evidenced by the activity of students as the active users of this worksheet was very active with the percentage of 87%, especially in terms of understanding problem and conducting evaluation. This scientific approach based students’ worksheet can be used to teach and improve students’ problem solving skills on surrounding environment in the fourth grade of Elementary School. This case is proved by good performance of students in solving problems related to their surrounding environment with a percentage of 81% which shows very high category.

students integrated scientific approach. The student activity sheet integrated scientific approach is an activity sheet that presents material, instructions and various kinds of tasks for students by combining scientific approach activities in the form of (1) observing, (2) asking questions, (3) gathering information, (4) processing information, and (5) communicate. This type of research uses research or R & D (Research and Development). In this research process, the final result is that the development of student activity sheets integrated scientific approach has a high practicality value based on (1) observations of student and teacher activities when using student activity sheets integrated scientific approach to the learning process gets high scores; (2) the results of the readability questionnaire on the student activity sheet integrated scientific approach obtained the average percentage response value of 93.91% with very high criteria; (3) the results of student questionnaire responses to the use of student activity sheets integrated scientific approach obtain an average percentage response value of 94.35% with very high criteria.

This study aims to identify the implementation of a scientific approach in the surrounding environment to build the students character of elementary school in Martapura, South Kalimantan. This type of research is quantitative research with survey method. The research population is all elementary school teachers in Martapura city. The research sample from 24 public teachers in 4 elementary schools who had implemented the 2013 curriculum. Data collection techniques used questionnaires and observations. The questionnaire was used to measure the results of the implementation of the scientific approach in shaping the character of elementary school students. Observations by means of visiting class sampling were carried out on 4 elementary school teachers. The data analysis technique used is descriptive analysis. The results of research on the implementation of a scientific approach to the surrounding environment in shaping the character of elementary school students averaged 82.53 with a good category. The results of observations on 4 teachers obtained an average score of 87.50 with a good category and the results of observations in 4 classes obtained an average score of student characters of 82.64 with a good category.

The research reveals a profile of reflective thinking of elementary school students in problem solving fractions based on his mathematical abilities. The instruments used in data collection is Test Problem Solving (TPM), interview. Selection of research subjects in a way given test is based on the ability of mathematics, namely mathematical skills of high, medium and low and further categorized and taken at least 2 people to serve as subjects. The research objective is: describe the profile of reflective thinking that math skills of elementary school students High, medium, and low. Based on the results of the study found reflective thinking profile and high ability students were as follows: (a) the step to understand the problems students have information/knowledge or data that is used to respond, comes from inside (internal) and can explain what has been done; (B) the planned step problem solving students have information/knowledge or data that is used to respond, comes from inside (internal) and can explain what has been done; (C) on measures to implement the plan in terms of information/knowledge or data used by students to respond, comes from inside (internal), could explain what has been done, realized the error and fix it, and communicate ideas with a symbol or image, and (d) the checking step back, namely information/knowledge or data that is used by students to respond, comes from inside (internal) and can explain what has been done. Profile of reflective thinking ability students lowly mathematics, namely: (a) at the stage of understanding the problem, students can determine known and asked in the problem, but the students' difficulties to explain the identification of the facts that have been done, the students explained the understanding vocabulary, and feel of existing data the matter is enough; (B) at the stage of implementing the plan, the students explained, organize and represent data on the issue, describes how to select the operation in solving a problem though students are not sure, and students' difficulty in explaining what he had done; (C) at the stage of implementing the plan, the student has information on calculation skills although the answer is not correct. Students difficulty in explaining about the skills calculations have been done, trying to communicate their ideas in the form of symbols or images, even if students rather difficult to describe, and realized there was an error when using a calculation skills and improve it; (D) at the stage of check, students' difficulties in explaining whether obtained estimates it approached, it makes senseKeywords: reflective thinking, problem solving, fractions, and math skills.
