The on-site investigation of groundwater intakes is carried out to obtain and update the actual parameters of the equipment and structures of a water intake, to optimize its operation modes with an analysis of their changes in time in order to plan maintenance and repair. This article discusses an improved methodology for examining individual elements and structures of groundwater intakes, which allows us to evaluate their current technical condition and to make a predictive calculation of changes in well productivity for the next period of operation based on the solution of the equations of dynamic equilibrium. The technique of clogging assessment allows determining ageing coefficients and approximate residual life of wells; the estimate of the rated pump pressure head reduction due to wear enables the pump testing during its operation at the well and timely replacement of the pump for routine repair; assessment of pipe sculling makes it possible to account for hydraulic resistance of lines connecting the wells to prefabricated water pipes during operation.

The article presents three strategies for maintenance and repair of machines that control the pre-selected and justified parameters of the technical condition of the machine, as well as the costs of eliminating failures for these strategies and the possibility of reducing them. (Research purpose) The research purpose is to identify the most effective way to determine the residual life of machine parts. (Materials and methods) The article proposes a strategy for maintenance and repair of machines, in which a special place is occupied by ways of reducing the mechanical friction losses, increasing the efficiency of the machine and the service life of its parts. The article notes that in order to meet the service life, it is necessary to monitor their remaining life visually or using appropriate sensors. In order to determine the remaining resource in more accurately way, we suggested that it would be measured several times, preferably using different methods or devices. Authors designed a computer program that allows to estimate the remaining resource using an interval estimation of random values for a given probability of failure-free operation of the machine part. The plunger pairs of a high-pressure fuel pump were chosen as the object of research. As a diagnostic parameter that characterizes the technical condition of the pump, its starting cycle feed was used, the value of which was determined on different stands. (Results and discussion) Article presents the values of the average resources of the plunger pairs, their dispersion around the corresponding average values, and calculated their average residual resource as an interval estimate for a given probability of failure-free operation. (Conclusions) The research results have shown a possibility of using the residual resource as the basis of the proposed strategy for maintenance and repair of machines based on minimizing the residual resource of their parts. The most important unsolved task for this strategy remains the selection and justification of primary diagnostic sensors for assessing the residual life of machine parts.

Modern machines are subject to progressive wear that occurs at different rates, which leads to unpredictable failures that reduce the reliability and durability of machines. The strategy of maintenance and repair is aimed at eliminating these problems. (Research purpose) The research purpose is in analyzing the basic principles of the strategy of maintenance and repair of agricultural machinery in order to ensure control of the technical condition of machine parts. (Materials and methods) When resource diagnostics is used, , the allowable value of the parameter is set in advance for a part . This value is the tolerance that corresponds to a certain wear rate of the part. The tolerance is set based on the condition that if the current value of the controlled resource parameter during the next diagnosis is less than the set value, then such a part at the current value of the wear rate can be finalized until the next inter-control check. Taking into account the wear rate of the same type of parts from the group when determining the allowable wear during their resource diagnostics becomes an urgent task. (Results and discussions) As a result of research, the article presents "Methodology for determining the main indicators of reliability of parts of agricultural machines with different wear rates" and "Methodology for determining the tolerance system of parts of agricultural machines with different wear rates". (Conclusions) The article presents the tolerance system that reduces the probability of failure of machine parts in operation. During resource diagnostics, those parts whose resource parameters exceed the tolerance are rejected.

Abstract The relevance of the study is conditioned by the need to determine the state and residual life duration of high-voltage cable lines to identify faulty and maintainable cables. The aim of the article is to determine a reliable scientifically grounded criterion for assessment of insulation characteristics of the cables in use and to perform a comparative analysis of the results obtained by the traditional method of diagnosing insulation with the results of a new method of assessment by the return voltage. In this regard, the article deals with the issues related to the testing of cables having oil-impregnated paper insulation, as well as with the issue of switching from planned replacement of cables to assessment of their actual state and period of residual life. The authors propose to use the method of examining the cables by the return voltage using the device for testing electrical insulation “UDEI-1” developed at the department of Electrification and Automation of the Nizhny Novgorod State University of Engineering and Economics. The article presents the results of measuring the return voltage of three cables that operated under different conditions. The cables had different technical state. The analysis of the estimation of the residual life of cables by the return voltage was carried out using such criteria as the PIRV polarization index, the LIRV electrical conductivity index, and the P-factor. The P-factor is the physical criterion demonstrating the aging of paper-oil insulation by the shape of the return voltage curve. It represents such characteristics of insulation aging as moistening. To compare the results of testing the cables by the return voltage with the conventional methods of diagnostics and to determine the actual technical condition of power cables, the authors applied the method of spatiotemporal reflectometry and the method of measuring insulation resistance with the determination of such indicators of state as insulation resistance normalized per one kilometer, absorption coefficient, and polarization index. The results of this article confirm that the return voltage gives a qualitative assessment of the state and degree of aging of cables with impregnated paper insulation. The authors proposed a new system for evaluation of cable condition by weighting coefficients. In this approach, the determination of residual life of cables with impregnated paper insulation is based on the values of the return voltage. Application of the new system gives opportunity to improve reliability of the power lines. Recommendations for the further operation of the studied cables are given. The materials of the article are of practical value for carrying out complex assessment of the technical condition of power cables by the return voltage and can be useful for drawing up a schedule for replacement or repair of cable lines depending on their actual state.

Purpose. To develop the method for increasing the efficiency of the equipment’s maintenance and repair system, ensuring necessary level of operational reliability of the equipment, safety and reliability of the electric equipment with minimal expenses on operation. Relevance. Aging of the power equipment in railway power supply systems sharply raised a need for assessment of its states and degree of risk for operation outside rated service life. In critical conditions of technological processes and operational modes of the railways it is necessary to increase the equipment’s operational reliability. The scheduled maintenance and repair system whose main technical and economic criterion is the minimum of equipment’s downtimes on the basis of a rigid regulation of repair cycles, in the conditions of market regulations in the field of repair in many cases does not provide the optimal decisions due to insufficient financing. The solution of this problem is possible by improvement of the maintenance and repair system. Under these conditions the main direction for supporting the operational reliability of power electric equipment on TS is a development of the modern methods based on individual supervision over real changes of technical condition of power equipment. Scientific novelty. In this article the authors proposed an integrated approach, on the basis of which can be developed the effective maintenance and repair system for traction power supply systems. Proposed approach allowed to react quickly to changes of service conditions on traction substations, to control the technical condition of power electric equipment under the conditions of uncertainty, to establish interrelation between quality of service and operational reliability of the equipment, to choose a service strategy on traction substations. Practical importance. The validity of the developed method was confirmed by the results of calculations and practically by choosing the optimal maintenance's option for transformer TDTN-25000/150-70 U1 (ТДТН-25000/150-70 У1) on traction power supply substation.

A contemporary road vehicle (RV) is a rather complex system, consisting of a large number of subsystems, assemblies, units, and elements (parts). While operating, an RV interacts with the environment, and its elements interact with each other. Consequently, the properties (parameters) of these elements change in the process - hardness, roughness, size, relative position, gapping, etc. A partial solution to the presented problems can be the search for a technique for assessing the RV technical condition by a generalised criterion, which is quite sensitive to changes in the technical state. One of these criteria may be fuel consumption in litres per 100 kilometres. This paper investigates the possibilities of using the fuel consumption indicator as a criterion for assessing the technical condition of the vehicle and the vehicle maintenance and repair technologies have been generalised to obtain a given technical solution. Thus, the possibility of using the fuel consumption indicator as a criterion for assessing the technical condition of the vehicles was explored using the Volkswagen Touran 1.9 TDI operating in urban conditions using a driving cycle. A clear correlation between the fuel consumption and the service lifetime of the vehicle has been established; therefore, it depends on the frequency and quality of the maintenance and repair (MR). The vehicle MR technology has been generalised to obtain a specified technical solution. The process of creating an RV MR Technology model is implemented based on an iterative approach (repetition) with the possibility to specify their features.

In this article, we analyze the modern concepts in the field of the aeronautical equipment integrated logistical support (ILS). The key element of the traditional logistical support system under consideration is the data on detected failures and malfunctions, recorded in the air flight and maintenance log (AFML), chart-orders, non-routine write-ups and accumulated within the structure of the logistic support analysis database. We propose a method for expanding the ILS capabilities by means of including of an additional element, called the flight information database, in the logistics center structure, along with the traditional database for analyzing the logistical support. This database is constantly growing during the aircraft operation. It also contains the values of the parameters recorded by the standard onboard flight data recorder, which reflect the state of the onboard systems. The inclusion of a flight information database into the structure of the logistical support center makes it possible to implement the probability-guaranteeing estimation method in respect of the risks, associated with the aircraft technical condition, for benefit of the integrated logistical support. The proposed method uses an inverse probabilistic criterion (quantile) as an integral characteristic of the aircraft systems technical condition. This is fully consistent with modern approaches to organizing condition-based maintenance. Among these approaches, the data-driven methodology (DDM) has the greatest potential and practical efficiency. The applicative value of the described method is in the fact that its implementation needs neither a priori information about the principles of the maintained equipment operation, nor information about the functioning principles of the on-board controller network, which is used to control the equipment physical parameters. In this article, we also present the accuracy estimates of forecasting the residual life of an aircraft gas turbine engine, using the proposed method. These estimates are based on the actual flight data presented in the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) repository.

Maintenance of armaments and military equipment, implementation of a set of measures to maintain armaments and military equipment in working order are related to the need to solve the problem of ensuring the specified indicators of their efficiency, especially samples with long service life. Given the current state of the domestic armaments and military equipment park, it is important to study the experience of NATO member states in implementing adaptive maintenance and repair strategies, including maintenance and repair strategies. The aim of the article is to analyze the current state of use of adaptive strategies for maintenance and repair of weapons and military equipment in the world's leading countries with further substantiation based on its recommendations for their practical implementation during the organization of their operation in the Air Force of Ukraine. According to the results of research, a positive impact of the application of maintenance and repair strategy, including by solving the problem of minimizing the cost of operation of weapons and military equipment. As a result, substantiated and proposed the necessary conditions for the application of the strategy of their maintenance and repair, which are in service with the Armed Forces of Ukraine in technical condition, the implementation of which as an alternative to the use of service life (resource) of relevant samples control of the limit condition or the need for maintenance and repair of the product, which are accepted as a result of continuous (periodic) control of the parameters that determine the technical condition.
