ResumoA Amazônia Sul-Americana é o espaço vital do sistema internacional no século XXI. AbstractThe South American Amazon is the vital space of the international system in the 21st century. It consists of one of the last fields of capitalism’s expansion, with strategic frontier value for the use of nature and geopolitically relevant area, given the global perspective of scarcity of goods necessary for the growth of the world economy. By this fact comes the importance of a study of the Amazonian natural resources. In this article, based on the empirical-deductive method, its inventory and mapping will be carried out, as well as a further analysis in developmental terms. This approach is justified by the fact that there is a constant reassessment and appreciation of strategic resources conditioned by new technologies, giving the Amazon a frontier of contemporary power. Thus, the objective is to demonstrate the possibility of developing the economy through transformation and adding value to natural resources, raising their management and technological level.

In the 1980s, few agricultural economists, particularly from the Southern Region, published works on international trade or the globalization of the world economy. The initiation of the Uruguay Round of the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade (GATT) in 1986 stimulated such writings as the Southern Agriculture in a World Economy series by the Southern Region Extension International Trade Task Force (Rosson et al.). An even smaller number of agricultural economists were writing on policy linkages between trade and the environment. An early effort to remedy this situation was the Workshop on Linkages between Natural Resources and International Trade in Agricultural Commodities (Sutton).

The primary goal of the present study is to use cross-national data on labor-force structure to examine the manner in which the international system shapes the character of national development, and the consequences of variation in development strategy for the growth and distribution of national income. A complementary goal is to illustrate the use of residual plots to overcome the “black box” character of cross-national studies, and thereby provide a bridge to case-study research. Multivariate analyses and residual plots provide results congruent with both world-political-economy and developmental perspectives, and indicate that the world economy may be used by lesser developed countries to obtain more rapid and equitable economic growth, although this was not a natural outcome of the world economy in the 1960s and 1970s.

In modern conditions the role of digitalization which is becoming the main factor of the development of the world economy, is growing significantly, as the competitiveness of individual countries is determined by the level of implementation of innovative banking technologies as a tool for creating digital financial ecosystems. At the same time, there are considered key indicators of bank customers activities related to Internet access and infrastructure development opportunities, the consumer demand for digital technologies, the specific application of legislative norms in this area, the development of innovations in individual countries based on additional investment in the latest technologies and digital start-ups. There is given the definition of the concept of digital economy, analysis of the development of digitalization in terms of its use in various areas: financial, production, trade, social. Within the framework of the national approach, digitization, for which a cyclical character is typical, is considered in detail. So, initially new technologies actively developed in the USA, Germany, Japan and other developed countries, but now these countries reduce the pace of growth of technological implementations, and the less developed countries, where the rates of digitalization are more significant. The article presents dividing countries in four categories, according to the growth of digitalization of the economy. In the world economy, the key to stability and high competitiveness in the long term should be the policy of continuous innovations, which requires from banks and other market participants to make quick and radical decisions that often affect their financial behavior and strategic line of development. Thus, the indicators of the involvement of countries in digital banking indicate that this type of banking activity is gaining momentum, and digitalization is currently the main vector of world development.

Analytical agencies, as well as international organizations, have identified significant threats to the development of the world economy, increasing the likelihood of a new global financial crisis in late 2020–early 2021. The main challenges to the system come from trade wars that could lead to a crisis in the international system of trade regulation, a decrease in the effectiveness of public policy instruments, and a deterioration in the dynamics of global economic growth. An important factor leading to a slowdown in the global economy in 2020 will also be the coronavirus pandemic, although it is difficult, in the first half of 2020, to assess its final impact. The combination of these negative factors, coupled with the unresolved problems of the 2008 global financial crisis, significantly increases the likelihood of a new global economic crisis which could surpass the Great Depression of the 1930s. This study systematizes the main forecasts by international organizations and analytical agencies for the growth of the world economy and considers various theoretical concepts to identify the symptoms of the impending crisis. Ultimately, this article offers options for reducing the negative impact of the crisis on Russia. In connection with the coronavirus pandemic, preliminary estimates have been made of the likely damage to the world economy and the prospects for its recovery.

The purpose of the paper is to study the current problems of ecology and environmental protection, which is associated with the current sustainable trends in economic development. The growth of the world economy as a whole and the economic progress of most developed countries with market relations tends to an increasing use of natural resources and at the same time to an increasing depletion and pollution of the environment. The goal is to determine the essence, prerequisites for the emergence and development of the green economy as a modern concept of interaction between society and nature through the economy, as well as reflect the prerequisites for the activation of the green movement on a global scale in order to preserve nature and ensure the natural conditions of human habitation. In this regard, the essence of the green economy, directions and principles of its implementation for the restoration and strengthening of natural potential are considered. Methodology. A correct assessment and analysis of the dynamics and trends in the development of the world economy in terms of increasing economic potential and increasing the production of economic benefits to ensure the welfare of society allows us to assess the level of impact on nature and the environment. Without the results of these assessments and calculations, significant errors appear in the choice of state priorities for socio-economic policy and in making optimal decisions in the field of production. The study is based on an assessment of the interaction between the world economy and the environment in modern conditions. Results. The questions of modern economic trends in nature and environment are studied. The need for the implementation of the green economy in modern conditions has been determined. The necessity to preserve nature and reduce environmental pollution is becoming more and more urgent. Practical implications. The state of the natural environment and the possibilities of preserving and improving the environment are being studied. An adequate assessment of the state of nature and natural resources will allow the world community to pursue a balanced and effective socio-economic and environmental policy for the harmony of society and nature where it lives. Value/originality. It has been determined that nature is the basis of social life, and at the same time, its preservation is the main goal of social progress. The economy is just the means by which nature creates welfare for society. Nature can exist without humanity, but humanity cannot exist without nature. Therefore, the preservation and strengthening of the environment are more than relevant. To this end, a green economy policy is being implemented in the modern world.

The emergence of COVID-19 has made it ever more onerous for the world economy to rethink the way things are done and to be done. The need and almost compulsory way of services being catered for will never have been made so practically obvious without the influence of a pandemic like COVID-19. The world at some point in time was almost brought to a standstill, with services pertaining to supply-chain deliverables, education / professional development and many more almost brought to a halt. This paper has the platform for critically assessing the pathway SSA economies (SSA) should follow, notably creativity in new technologies, while adopting a stance on ISI approach in order to reduce its reliance on the importation of essential commodities, which seem to have been a worrying concern throughout the crisis of COVID-19. Suggestions for SSA economies to embrace the notion of creative destruction is the focal point in this paper for the realization of growth and development, while at the same time harnessing the power of human integrity to champion competitive innovation.

The 2008–2009 global financial and economic crisis was a result of the global balance disturbance in world economy and international relations. The global leader – the U.S. has been weakened, but temporarily. As long as there is no serious alternative candidate, American domination will continue. In the foreseeable future, the world is likely to face plenty of economic upheavals and political conflicts linked to the development of new technologies, the asymmetry of demographic trends in various regions resulting in mass migration, climate change and environmental problems including scarcity of fresh water. One of the major new trends is globalization, and no single nation, however powerful, is capable of managing it.
