Constructivist education usually involves authentic assessment, which is affected by the media used to teach. Information technology can enhance or hinder the authenticity of assessment in key ways. This chapter provides a framework to analyze the opportunities to enhance authenticity when assessment is mediated by information technology, as well as the limitations of IT mediation on authenticity. The degree of authenticity possible is determined by several aspects of the competence being assessed: the chronicity of access to and use of information, the durability of the display, the use of written, oral and non-verbal communication, and computer use. This framework is used to identify IT tools that enable more authentic assessment, as well as sample approaches. It identifies aspects of competences that may not be authentically assessed via information technologies, limitations on the use of technology, and future trends.

A conceptual methodology for increasing the efficiency of organizational and technological aspects of construction production by developing a predictive tool for participants in a construction project is described here. The initial direction of activity for working off the possibility of implementing the indicated methodology has been determined. During the analysis of a domestic experience of construction companies, the conditions for unlimited and constant integration of information technology (IT) were identified. The importance of constant tracking of innovations in the field of information technology for the selection of the most promising areas and methods of their integration, allowing the participants in a construction project to increase their efficiency at the lowest cost, was found. The description of the principles of systems engineering for the development of monitoring models in the field of IT is brought. The primary classification of information technologies from the point of view of the application in the construction industry is carried out. Based on consultations held with the leaders of construction companies there were defined the groups and subgroups of parameters, that may influence the effectiveness of realization of the construction project.

This article considers how traditional mass media and new information technologies change our thinking about childhood, and the very experience of childhood. It asks questions such as: How does the merchandise of the marketplace, the media and new technologies construct and segment childhood? What should early childhood educators and parents consider in the selection of instructional or entertainment CDs or websites? Four major issues are raised in relation to the ‘information revolution’ and early childhood: concepts of development; media and information technology literacy; critical criteria for software selection; issues of equity and access.

Introduction: the authors discuss the topic of digitalization as potentially one of the most effective ways to fight against corruption in modern Russia. Various forms of information technology application are analyzed, including “egovernment”, “e-Parliament”, and “e-justice”. Pointing to the certainly positive side of this phenomenon, such as the impossibility of the use of private agreements in the decision-making process in favor of one side or another, etc., the authors note the shortcomings of the procedure of digitalization, such as, for example, the ability of a human judge to “let all the circumstances of the incident go through himself”, to very humanely evaluate the motives of the crime, the attitude of the perpetrator towards the offense, the possibility of socializing the specified person; and on this basis to determine a fair and reasonable form and amount of punishment. The purpose of the research: to reveal the importance of introducing modern information technologies in the work of all branches of government as one of the areas of anticorruption. Objectives: to reveal the content of the term “e-justice”, to consider the main trends in the research on the issues related to the proliferation of digital technologies in the administration of justice and to assess the adequacy of their magnitude to modern realities; to emphasize the question of practical implementation of information technology as an effective mechanism of the fight against corruption. Methods: system, structural and functional, analysis, synthesis, expert assessment. Results: the authors describe one of the trends of the modern interdisciplinary research, which is not sufficiently covered in the scientific literature, and is manifested in an attempt to see the novelty in the relations through the use of the latest technical means; the activities carried out in electronic form and/or through the use of digital technologies, dedicated to the digitalization of the judicial system, aimed at improving the quality of the work of the courts, ensuring maximum transparency of their decision-making and reducing corruption in the justice system. Conclusions: the digitalization of cases will reduce all document flow and ensure the safety of all available criminal cases and materials, allowing us to improve the quality of preliminary investigation or preparation for trials, reduce the risks of possible falsification of evidence, and the introduction of “electronic justice” will reduce the manifestation of any forms of corruption in the justice sector.

The prominence of information and communications technology (ICTs) in defining India’s media modernity can be gauged by the growing reach of online social media as well as continuing expansion of digital media channels and satellite broadcasting even in the early 21stCentury. Policies concerning information technologies, from telegraph to satellite networks, have also been central to media politics and with the rise of new media, internet related policies have similarly become pivotal to the interaction between the state and media system. Drawing from a comparative media system perspective, this paper argues that while there has been no major constitutional or legal overhaul, as yet, new ideas and information technology policy activism are reshaping the contours of state action and ‘autonomy’ of the press in India’s democracy. Comparing technology debates in an earlier era, when satellite networks swept across the media system, with the more recent deliberations around liabilities for digital intermediaries, the paper unpacks the nature of change and locates its origins in the revival of discursive institutions (Schmidt 2002, 2008) of technology policy since the early 2000s. Technology related ideas, I argue, now serve as institutions, able to function as a ‘coordinating discourse’ (ibid) that have revived ideals of an autonomous media. Technology inflected ideals of ‘anonymity’ also counter the ‘communicative discourse’ (ibid) of Hindutva and cultural nationalist politics of media which framed the issue of autonomy in the ascendant phase of print and electronic media capitalism until the 1990s.

The relevance of the study under consideration is due to the need to increase the efficiency of students independent work in solving computational problems. A theoretical rationale is proposed and the practical implementation of an automated training and diagnostic system for the formation of skills to solve problems according to the “white box” model is described. The leading idea of the study is the construction of mental schemes for a given topic, which allow to visualize the dynamics of changes in the learner’s level of ability to solve computational problems. The methods of accounting for forgetting educational information and methods of personalized selection of tasks are substantiated. The site for self-management of user independent work is available at the link: http://msbx.ru. The materials of the article are of practical value for teachers who use e-learning tools in the educational process.
