A hypothetical artwork is an artwork that exists only as a fictional creation of an art theorist. The explicatory powers of such hypothetical artworks are mainly used by an art theorist to reflect on an art theoretical issue under consideration. Such an artwork has an intriguing and paradoxical nature. On the one hand, it is only fictitious, but, on the other hand, it tries to function as a real token, persuading the reader to trust it as if it were a real artwork. Even though this kind of argumentation can be deceiving, as it presents a statement of real art on the basis of fiction, it has some important explicatory abilities that can be put to good usein the art educational process. In this case, the construction of the hypothetical artwork is handled as the construction of a theoretical model. The author calls such theoretical construction the method of hypothetical artwork modelling, and its result the hypothetical artwork model. Such a hypothetical artwork model can be usefully employed when one wishesto encourage the student to become fictionally involved in the process of creation of an artwork, thus giving him or her more personal experience of problems that accompany the process of creating a real artwork. When such hypothetical experience is gained, the student can more efficiently learn about the considered art issue. In the paper, the authordemonstrates how the explicatory powers of the method of hypothetical artwork modelling can be put into educational practice regarding an issue taken from colour theory (i.e., the primary colours fallacy).

Since it relies on verbal and non-verbal communication, the teaching process is significantly determined by their characteristics and quality. Although these two types of communication are intertwined in the classroom and their roles are dialectically connected, non-verbal communication and some of its signs are often unjustifiably considered less important. Therefore, this paper will focus on facial expressions as one of the most significant types of non-verbal signs used in teaching. The goal of this paper is to determine teachers' perceptions of the importance of facial expressions and the type of feedback that it most often helps to obtain during the teaching process. The research sample consists of 107 primary school teachers from the territory of the Nis' School Administration. The results of this research show that teachers recognize the role of facial expressions in teaching and that the feedback they most often receive through facial expressions is related to the students' feelings and their cognitive activities. Moreover, it was found that the students' age, that is, the level of schooling, significantly determines the diversity of their perceptions on this issue.

Designing and planning education is an important part of the complex professional competencies of teachers, which were the subject of several years of research carried out at the University of Constantine the Philosopher in Nitra. Scientific research of Slovak experts focused on the issue of the professional competencies of teachers. The starting point was to determine the current state of professional skills of teachers in the Slovak Republic, then a complex of necessary competencies was identified. The relevance of the teacher's competency complex was confirmed by their practical implementation, which was assessed by competent evaluators. The paper presents the professional competence to plan and design, which we understand as a basic pillar of quality and effective education. A modern school requires the personal and social development of the student, good study results, but also in a complex of student values, which can be ensured by a methodologically and professionally thought-out organization of the teaching process. One of the results of the APVV research project, Evaluation of Teacher Competencies, was the creation of tools and criteria for evaluating and self-evaluating the quality of a teacher's professional competencies in educational practice. Part of the paper is to present the practical implementation of a special methodology aimed at evaluating the competence to design and plan teaching, in the form of a case study model."
