The practical activity of a lawyer involves a comprehensive analysis of various legal situations, the search for optimal ways to resolve them, the use of analogies, generalization, development and substantiation of new legal positions (including based on doctrinal sources), that is, it contains elements of the researcher's work. With this in mind, one of the important components in teaching legal students is the formation of their research competencies. The purpose of this study is to prepare proposals for improving approaches to the formation of scientific research competencies of students of legal specialties. During the research, formal legal, sociological and other methods of scientific knowledge were used. As a result of the study, proposals were substantiated for the formation of scientific research competencies of law students, based on the logic of scientific research in the field of law. These proposals imply consistent training of law students to work with facts of reality, scientific facts, scientific problems and scientific hypotheses, using appropriate methods of scientific knowledge.

Museum curators are rarely the subject of analysis as scientists. By contrast, there is a whole literature on their propensity to give priority to the scientific knowledge of collections over the effort to communicate with different audiences and make museums accessible. This article examines the Late Raphael exhibition at the Louvre (Paris) and draws on the exhibition texts (catalogues, artwork labels, wall texts) to explore the practical activity and preoccupations of the museum curators concerned: the exhibition is simultaneously material for the scientific demonstration of a thesis – part of a debate on the value of the artist’s late works – and for communication aimed at both fellow specialists and the wider public. Communication is not distinct from scientific research and handled with less respect. The two are directly interwoven and communication represents a practical activity with its own difficulties.

Sources of scientific knowledge and the process of scientific research are necessary for defining security phenomena. The levels and types of scientific knowledge and scientific sources are numerous. The aim of this paper is to define, describe and classify the levels (quality and quantity) of scientific knowledge and sources of that knowledge. In this regard, the paper discusses the evaluation of knowledge and sources of knowledge, points to various personal and material sources of knowledge, and various public and confidential - written and audio-visual scientific sources and objects. The conclusion of the author is that the evaluation of the source of scientific knowledge, as well as the scientific facts themselves, is important for the outcome of the research process and the achievement of true and objective scientific knowledge about security phenomena.

The problems of syntax are constantly in the focus of attention of linguists, since the sentence structure in modern Ukrainian language is quite flexible and sensitive to target institutions of communication. As a result, new questions arise at every stage of scientific knowledge. These topical issues also include that of insertability. Modern studies connected with the parenthetical constructions do not fully solve the problem of their formation and development in modern linguistics. The purpose of the proposed scientific research is a comprehensive analysis of the parenthetical constructions in Ukrainian linguistics. The paper studies the problems associated with the formation of the parenthetical constructions category and analyzes the development of the doctrine of the parenthetical components in modern linguistics. The parenthetical constructions are considered as forms that are included in the sentence for expressing the emotional attitude of the speaker to the message. From the formal grammatical point of view the syntactical units are studied in isolation from the sentence. From the communicative point of view these units do not change the main modal meaning of the sentence but explain it, giving a special colour. The analysis shows that the attention of scholars was focused on the essence of parenthetically; on the functioning of the parenthetical units; on their analysis and semantics; on their correlation with the part of the sentence. The concept of «parenthetical» goes beyond the traditional syntax and it is the realization of expression which belongs to the specificity of not only a particular style, but also a particular author. The paper analyzes the works of Ukrainian linguists based on the study of the special status of parenthetical units; their facultative nature; the structural organization of sentences with the definite syntactic components; their position in the sentence; the semantics of parenthetical constructions; the communicative and textual potential of these units. Now the question of parenthetical words goes beyond the limits of the traditional syntax, since it represents an implementation of a statement plan related to the specifics of not only a certain style, but also of a certain author, therefore studying this phenomenon in linguistics remains relevant in the future.

Accounting as a practical activity was being developed during millennia but the final forming of accounting science is impossible without the development of its modern theory, which is correspondent to the requirements of scientific doctrines of the 21st century. The existing theory, in many cases, is not good at all and, in general, it is the set of technical approaches of realization of double record. The results of economic investigations of the world level show the impossibility of modern accounting science to fulfill its functions because of its conservative character and it was not changed during many years. All these investigations have a direct impact on economy and show that the understanding of the basic postulates changes and the stress is made on psychological and social aspects and avoiding of material ruling.

Scientific knowledge of the historical future requires methodology. And methodology is the application of ideology in scientific research in General, and in research of social processes in particular. For example, religion is always an ideology. It is an illusory ideology. Illusory not because it cannot be as described by the religious ideal (that the ideal is unattainable). For Man, as for his creation — God — there is no unattainable and cannot be. Religion is illusory, not in the sense of an ideal, but in the sense that it cannot be and become in this way, through faith. Religion creates and strengthens (fixes) the ideal but proceeds from the fact that the ideal created by man is a creative force. But God is not power. It’s just a representation of human power. And what the person who created it expects from God is a human goal.

It is argued that patents encourage scientific development, benefiting society by creating useful products and services that improve the quality of life. However, by granting exclusive rights of exploitation, patents create situations in which they interfere with the exercise of the freedom of scientific research. This work examines five scenarios where this problem can be seen and the utilitarian function of patents is questioned. Firstly, the effects of research funding in the definition of the lines and research objectives are observed. Secondly, the anticommons is studied, as it is a situation where excessive fragmentation of ownership in scientific knowledge may prevent its use. Thirdly, broad patents and their implications are examined. Fourthly, the deterrent power of patent litigation, which creates an unexpected business model, is analyzed. Fifthly, secrecy is looked upon, as it is encouraged by the logic in which the patent system works.

This article presents two vignettes from ethnographic research conducted in a ‘biological services unit’ or mouse house at a life sciences research institute in the UK. I focus on the ‘intimate knowledge’ two animal technicians demonstrated as crucial to care for the mice, where affective knowledge operated alongside scientific knowledge of animal welfare and administrative knowledge of keeping laboratory animals. I then show how caring for and about laboratory mice entailed caring about various other things, things that could help improve the lives of the mice. I thematize how the animal technicians ‘care about’ mice, using Astrid Schrader’s twin conceptions of compassion and ‘abyssal intimacy’. However, unlike Schrader and much of the literature focusing on the centrality of ‘sacrifice’ in scientific research involving laboratory animals, I contend that compassion is not centrally informed by death as the abyss here. Rather, the violent relatedness of being replaceable forms the abyss that makes compassion possible. It was the fact of caring about those with whom one becomes so intimately entangled, within the context of paid labour where one is replaceable, that formed the basis for compassion between animal technicians, mice and myself.

Legal relations in labor activity are constantly undergoing reform in Ukrainian legislation. The reason for the reform can be considered the imperfection and instability of labor relations. These factors indicate the need to study legal relations in labor activities and understand the methodological approaches and the justification for reforming legislation. Based on the use of both general theoretical and branch scientific provisions, in particular labor law, it has been proposed in this research to develop main fundamental approaches to the methodology of legal regulation of labor relations in the context of modern development of Ukraine. The study revealed that the methods, methods and techniques used in the scientific knowledge of labor phenomena are interconnected and contribute to the formation of labor relations in the world of work. Conclusions are made regarding the nature and effectiveness of methodological approaches, their relationship with the principles of theoretical and practical activity of subjects of labor relations.
