The author recommends the following method of treatment of such bleeding: 1) at strong periods-rest, means reducing the uterus; treatment of existing diseases of organs in the interval of bleeding by infections of nonspecific means (calcium, foreign protein, own blood and serum); application of follicular hormone at hypoplasia of uterus on the basis of insufficiency of ovary; X-ray castration in women close to menopause in cases where strong monthly bleeding leads to anemia; 2) in case of frequent periods - to pay attention to the general condition of the body, in the absence of local and general changes treatment with hormones (in shortening of the second phase of the cycle - lute body hormone in the second half of the cycle, in hypoplastic uterus - follicular hormone) is indicated; 3) in bleeding on the basis of myoma- X-ray castration, if the bleeding led to anemia, the tumor is not larger than a child's head and the woman is over 45 years old; or surgical treatment; 4) in atypical bleeding-in cases of ascending endometritis, accompanied by severe inflammatory phenomena, fever a. recommends conservative treatment.

Abstract. Analysis of available literature and our own experience, the main causes of the lysis / rejection of autoderm grafts are systematized. It is shown that there is no consensus among combustiologists about the causes of these complications. It is believed that the leading cause of such complications is the general condition of the body, the unpreparedness of wounds for surgical treatment and the development of disseminated intravascular coagulation syndrome in seriously ill people. The frequency of unsatisfactory treatment results also correlates with the level of contamination of the burn wound. An increase in microbial seeding to 107 or 108 colony forming units per gram is a relative contraindication to surgery, while the optimal level for skin grafting is considered to be 104 colony forming units per gram. In addition, locally plastic interventions are possible with a microbial load of 105 colony forming units per gram, subject to compensation for violations of the general condition of the victim. Of great importance are the timing of autodermotransplantation. Conducting skin plastics later than 14 days after the injury increases the risk of postoperative complications. This is due to the peculiarities of the pathophysiological processes characteristic of burn wounds. During the first two weeks from the moment of the injury, the processes of reparative regeneration prevail in them, however, their intensity progressively decreases over time. It has been demonstrated that immune system disorders also have a significant effect on the rate of graft lysis. Domestic experts have developed an original method for predicting the likelihood of an unsatisfactory result of skin grafting, based on an assessment of a number of parameters of the immune system. The results of our observations indicate that the main causes of lysis / rejection of autodermotransplantants in the postoperative period are insufficient preparation of wounds for surgical treatment, changes in the general condition of the body, impaired immune system (autoaggression), and a high level of microbial contamination. The development of common criteria for assessing a patients readiness for skin grafting to prevent rejection of transplanted autoderm grafts remains an urgent task of combustiology.

BACKGROUND: After surgical treatment of congenital spinal deformities, we can see the progression of deformities of the spinal column segments free from metal structures, which leads to the need for reoperation. Without sufficient scientific evidence, several specialists after surgical treatment use various orthoses on the body to prevent scoliotic compensatory changes. AIM: This study aims to assess the results of body orthosis after surgical treatment of children with congenital spinal deformity with the impaired formation of the vertebrae, using orthoses, compensatory deformity after one year of treatment. MATERIALS AND METHODS: Twenty-five patients aged 2 to 12 years (10 boys and 15 girls) after surgical treatment of congenital deformity of the spine in the thoracic regions (13) and lumbar regions (12), wearing body orthoses. The results were assessed at 3, 6, and 12 months using thermal sensors for the orthosis wearing time by X-ray and statistical methods. RESULTS: After three months of wearing the brace, we saw a correction of about 50% of the value of the initial compensatory deformity. After six months, both thoracic and lumbar, the correction was 60%. After one year, when performing an X-ray image without an orthosis, in thoracic deformities without a brace, the correction stabilized and remained at the level of 40%. In lumbar deformities without a brace, the original deformity returned, i.e., the correction occurred but was not fixed without the orthosis. Only one of 25 patients (4%) required a second operation to increase the fixations duration. CONCLUSION: The results of observing a group of patients (25 children) for one year after surgical treatment of congenital spine deformity showed a positive effect of a functionally corrective orthosis on the body to correct secondary deformities.

Pentalogy of Cantrell with ectopia cordis is an extremely rare and lethal congenital anomaly included congenital hearth disease (CHD), midline supraumbilical abdominal wall defect, defect of lower sternum part, deficiency of the anterior diaphragm, a defect in the diaphragmatic pericardium. The complexity of this syndrome is usually incompatible with life. Depending on the location of the protruding heart and on the extent of the body wall defect, ectopia cordis may be grouped into cervical, thoracic, thoracoabdominal, or abdominal types. The heart mostly uncovered, covered with a serous membrane less often, and covered with skin rare. Depending on combination defects pentalogy of Cantrell classified for 3 different classes by Toyama (classified in 1972): 1 class – complete syndrome (all five defects), 2 class – probable syndrome (included intracardial defect and ventral abdominal wall defect) 3 class – incomplete syndrome (with various combinations of defects present, including a sternal abnormality). Presented clinical case newborn pentalogy of Cantrell first Toyama class. We used X-Ray for firstly diagnostic, for visualization CHD was performed CT. For postnatal diagnostic CHD are used Echo and CT. CT allows graphically to see the type of CHD and predict a surgical treatment. The strategy of surgical treatment and further prognose are depend on combination of anomalies within the framework of pentalogy of Cantrell. By CT we determined atresia of the pulmonary artery with major aorto-pulmonary collateral arteries (MAPCA), ventricular and atrial septal defects.

Introduction: Anterior retropharyngeal realignment, distraction, and atlantoaxial fixation are an option for the treatment of symptomatic basilar invagination (BI). The anterior implants for distraction and fixation for atlantoaxial joints are still evolving. We share our experience using a novel implant which can easily, safely, and rigidly fix both lateral masses to the body of the axis. Methods: After exposing both the atlantoaxial joints anteriorly, the joints were prepared, distracted with wedge shaped autologous tricorticate bone grafts and realigned to correct the cervicomedullary strain. The atlantoaxial joints were fixed using a novel titanium plate by passing screws upwards and laterally into the lateral masses of the atlas and centrally into the body of the axis. Post-operative imaging showed effective correction of BI and atlantoaxial dislocation. Post-operative dynamic X-ray images confirmed maintenance of rigid fixation at 6 months. Conclusion: This new plate screw construct is safe, easy, cost-efficient, and biomechanically appealing option for the treatment of symptomatic BI. Reconstructive tomography is a new technique in diagnostic radiology for imaging cross-sectional planes of the human body /1/. A collimated beam of X-rays is scanned through a thin slice of the body and the transmitted intensity is recorded by a detector giving a linear shadow graph or projection (see fig. 1). Many of these projections at different angles are used to reconstruct the body-layer, usually with the aid of a computer. The picture element size of present tomographic scanners is approximately 1.1 mm2.Micro tomography can be realized using the very fine X-ray source generated by the focused electron beam of a scanning electron microscope (see fig. 2). The translation of the X-ray source is done by a line scan of the electron beam on a polished target surface /2/. Projections at different angles are produced by rotating the object.During the registration of a single scan the electron beam is deflected in one direction only, while both deflections are operating in the display tube.

Spontaneous mammary tumors in females of a high tumor strain of C3H mice were cut into small fragments that were Implanted into the subcutaneous tissue of the back of males of the same strain, where they grew as transplantable tumors. When about Cm. In diameter daily fractional radiation was begun, applied to the tumors, the rest of the body being shielded by a lead shield. Two groups were treated with 150 and 200 r X-ray dally, of half value layer 0.6mm. copper; a third group was treated with 500 r cobalt radiation dally. The primary purpose was to examine the enzyme changes during radiation, with histochemlcal technics.

X-ray microanalysis and Convergent Beam Electron Diffraction (CBD) studies were conducted to characterize the second phase particles in two commercial aluminum alloys -- 7075 and 7475. The second phase particles studied were large (approximately 2-5μm) constituent phases and relatively fine ( ∼ 0.05-1μn) dispersoid particles, Figures 1A and B. Based on the crystal structure and chemical composition analyses, the constituent phases found in these alloys were identified to be Al7Cu2Fe, (Al,Cu)6(Fe,Cu), α-Al12Fe3Si, Mg2Si, amorphous silicon oxide and the modified 6Fe compounds, in decreasing order of abundance. The results of quantitative X-ray microanalysis of all the constituent phases are listed in Table I. The data show that, in almost all the phases, partial substitution of alloying elements occurred resulting in small deviations from the published stoichiometric compositions of the binary and ternary compounds.

SummaryThe treatment of femoral head necrosis of adults is still rather problematic. Conservative treatment has been reported relatively unsuccessful and surgical treatment does not show convincing results either. The most effective seems to be a surgical treatment in early stages of the disease, however, the diagnosis still remains relatively complicated. For the late stages (2B and above) the most effective treatment option is represented by core decompression and vascular grafting. However, drilling and plombage (especially when using press-fit technique) seems to be successful, although not excellent. The authors describe their own method of drilling and plombage of the necrotic zone of the femoral head in 41 patients with X-ray detected necrotic changes of the femoral head. The pain measured by VAS was seen to decrease after surgery in all patients significantly. The Jacobs score was also observed to have increased (from fair to good outcome). We have not observed any large femoral head collapse after surgery, moreover, in some cases an improvement of the round shape of the femoral head was seen. It is important to mention that in all cases femoral heads with existing necrotic changes (flattening or collapse) were treated. Although the clinical improvement after surgery was not significantly high, the method we describe is a safe and simple method of diminishing pain in attempt to prepare the femoral head for further treatment in a future, without significant restriction of the indication due to necrosis (osteochondroplasty, resurfacing, THR).

The pharyngeal tonsil is a lymphatic tissue mass located in the roof of the nasopharynx. The function of the pharyngeal tonsil is to prevent infections with the help of antibodies. Chronic inflammation and allergies lead to hyperplasia of the adenoids that is found almost exclusively in children. The treatment of choice is surgical treatment; conservative treatment is only indicated preoperatively or if surgery is contraindicated. In this paper, we will present a new surgical method for adenoidectomy performed trans-orally with coblation, under endoscopic control.
