The article is an attempt to collect and comment on discourse on the relationship between photography and metaphor, which is dispersed in different theoretical works on photography. The author finds these connections crucial in the educational perspective, because they help to inscribe pedagogical activities on photography in a broader humanistic education that aims at cultivating the ability to think. The main theoretical contexts are writings by Bernd Stiegler and Hannah Arendt. The author gives an exemplary analytical study of photographs by Krzysztof Szlapa and Kamil Myszkowski as well as a suggestion of a practical photographic task whose objective is to inspire metaphorical thinking.

The aim of the present study was to evaluate the relationship between BMI and tooth decay in a population of Iranian children. In this cross-sectional descriptive/analytical study, 1482 children were selected from kindergartens and preschool centers in Kerman, Iran. The children underwent examination of deciduous teeth (using the dmft index) after determination of height and weight for calculation of BMI. The relationship between BMI (after adjustment for age) and dmft was determined using Poisson’s regression model. The mean of dmft in children with normal BMI was 1.5-fold that in subjects with extra body weight. Age had a significant effect on dmft. In addition, dmft was higher in boys compared to girls. The results of the present study showed that caries rate in the deciduous teeth of 3–6-year-old children decreases with an increase in body weight.

This article offers a close reading of Hannah Arendt’s Eichmann in Jerusalem: A Report on the Banality of Evil. It argues that in this text, Arendt consistently, even obsessively, evaluates the legal and moral challenges posed by Eichmann’s trial through the relationship between exception and rule. The article contends that the analytical lens of the exception allows us to appreciate the perplexities that Eichmann in Jerusalem presents – some fifty years after the book’s publication – from a still uncommon perspective, and enables us to attend in new ways to Arendt’s own suppositions, propositions, and contradictions in this text.

The thought of resistance of Hannah Arendt: an analysis of the relationship between philosophyy and politics in one of Miguel Abensour's readings

This research aims to elucidate Miguel Abensour’s consideration about Hannah Arendt as a ‘figure of resistance’. In the presented essay, I would like to focus on the relationship between force and power. The idea that power, without resorting to forceful, even violent solutions, is less problematic, is both deceitful and dangerous. Once accepted, it can cause an oversight of violence‐free but possibly harmful forms of power. My focus in the article will be on the two reinterpretations of Master‐Slave dialectics, as presented by Alexandre Kojève and Albert Camus. This will be presented with reference to the position of Hannah Arendt and her remarks on power and force. In conclusion, I will be abstemious: my goal is rather to diagnose and bind the existentialist judgement with the contemporary situation and suggest that thinking outside the force‐power relationship may be continuously fruitful and an important part of reflection on the nature of political power.

Background: Anemia is a public health nutritional problem, especially for pregnant women. Anemia in pregnancy can adversely affect the morbidity and mortality of both mother and baby. According to the WHO, the prevalence of anemia in Indonesia was 40.5% in 2015, and 42% in 2016. One of the government's efforts to reduce the rate of anemia is the provision of iron tablets. In Indonesia, the coverage of giving at least 90 tablets during pregnancy in 2017 reached 80.81%. However, in Maluku Province, the coverage of iron supplementation (47.35%) was included amongst the four lowest provinces. This study aims to examine the relationship between pregnant women's knowledge and consumption of iron tablets and anemia in the Districts of South Leitimur and Teluk Ambon. Methods: This research is an analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The subjects of this study were 165 pregnant women who were taken by purposive sampling.Result: The results showed 50.3% of pregnant women had anemia and only 21.8% complied with taking iron tablets. We found that there was no statistically significant association between pregnant women's knowledge of iron supplementation (p=0.443), as well as compliance with taking iron supplements (p=0.135), and anemia. Nevertheless, the percentage of women with anemia was lower in pregnant women who complied with taking iron supplements than those who did not comply. Conclusion : This study shows that efforts are still required to reduce the prevalence of anemia in Ambon City, including increasing women's compliance to take iron tablets.
