<p><strong>Abstract: </strong>Teacher leadership is a leadership attitude shown by the teachers involving idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. This study is conducted to investigate the relationship between teacher leadership and students’ motivation to learn English. By knowing the association between these variables, English teachers will be able to strategize in conducting the learning process in class to motivate their students. If students are motivated in learning English, then their performance and achievement might increase too. The design of the study is correlational. The relationship is determined by correlating scores from two questionnaires given to the students. The result indicated that there is a positive moderate relationship between teacher leadership and students’ motivation in learning English. The correlation coefficient is 0.342. It means that the higher the degree of teachers’ leadership, the higher the students’ motivation. In contrast, when the teachers have low degree of leadership, the students will gradually lose their motivation. In conclusion, the result of this study has shown that there is a significant relation between teachers’ leadership and students’ motivation.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong> Kepemimpinan seorang guru dalam melakukan pembelajaran di dalam kelas dapat dilihat melalui beberapa hal, yaitu <em>idealized influence</em>, <em>inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, </em>dan<em> individualized consideration</em>. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk menginvestigasi hubungan antara kepemimpinan guru dengan motivasi siswa dalam belajar Bahasa Inggris. Dengan mengetahui hubungan antar dua variabel ini, guru dapat mengatur strategi lebih baik dalam melakukan proses belajar di kelas. Hasil penelitian mengindikasikan adanya hubungan positif yang sedang antara kepemimpinan guru dengan motivasi siswa dalam belajar <strong>b</strong>ahasa Inggris. Koefisien korelasinya adalah 0.342. <strong>Hal i</strong>ni berarti semakin tinggi kualitas kepemimpinan guru, semakin baik pula motivasi siswa dalam mempelajari Bahasa Inggris. Begitu pula jika guru mempunyai kualitas kepemimpinan yang rendah, maka besar kemungkinan bahwa lambat laun siswa akan kehilangan motivasi dalam belajar Bahasa Inggris. Kesimpulannya, kepemimpinan guru mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan motivasi siswa dalam belajar bahasa Inggris.

More and more, healthcare institutions work to ameliorate the relation supervisor/supervised. In hospitals, transformational leadership proved to influence employee’s motivation and satisfaction (Spinelli, 2006, p.20) thus the hospital’s services. To our knowledge, there is no study conducted on the administrative employees in the healthcare sector in Lebanon that constitute our sample. There is only one study conducted on nurses by El-Jardali et al., (2008) in 69 hospitals in this country. Given this situation, we how can describe the relationship between transformational leadership and employee’s job satisfaction in hospitals? Data processing of a questionnaire administered to 455 employees of 28 over 125 hospitals in Lebanon shows that there is no significant relationship between the employee’s job satisfaction and these two transformational leadership components: leader’s idealized influence and intellectual stimulation. While we found a correlation between employee’s job satisfaction and two other components: inspirational motivation (Training; projects monitoring) and individualized consideration (Active listening to employee’s work issues).

This chapter examines the role of green transformational leadership on promoting green organizational behavior. Green transformational leadership has been found to be influencing green organizational behavior. The study uses content analysis and website analysis. Nedbank is used in the chapter as an archetype of an organization with a green transformational leadership which has influenced green organizational behavior. Four characteristics of green transformational leadership namely idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration were used. The leadership engages its customer and rewards them for green behavior which is important for intellectual stimulation and motivating their employees. The study contributes to the body of knowledge on green transformational behavior by confirming the relationship. The chapter recommends that more trainings and educational awareness on green values be provided to the management so that ultimately this are emulated and practiced by their employees.

One of the problems that employees often face is the employment pressure from their superiors. The impact of the problem includes the increase of employee turnover, the decrease of employee motivation, and the increase of employee absenteeism. Such condition decreases organizational effectivity. Therefore, the first step done by the organization is to increase employee commitment in order to improve effectiveness. To increase employees' commitment, the role of leadership is very important. One of the most popular leadership styles and suitable applied in many setting is the transformational leadership style. It significantly contributes to the improvement of organizational commitment. The leadership has four dimensions: idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration. The current study aims to find empirical evidence of the contribution of transformational leadership styles to organizational commitment. The employees of BPR in the city of Semarang are used as samples in the study. The data used are primary data obtained from the distribution of questionnaires to respondents. This study used descriptive analysis techniques and multiple linear regression. The results prove that simultaneously transformational leadership style significantly influence the organizational commitment. Partially inspirational motivation and individualized consideration variables have a significantly positive effect on organizational commitment. However, the idealized influence and intellectual stimulation variable have no effect on organizational commitment. The findings have theoritical and practical implication. From theoritical side, the continued research need to conduct to give clearer description of the two variables relationship. From practical side, leaders of BPR can consider the findings to improve their employee commitment.. Keywords: transformational leadership style and organizational commitment

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komponen kepemimpinan transformasional yang dipraktikkan oleh kepala sekolah di SDN Kedaung Kaliangke 03 Pagi sebagai sekolah model SPMI yang meliputi idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intelectual stimulation, individualized consideration, dan initiative of culture. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif dengan jenis penelitian field study research atau studi lapangan dengan tehnik pengumpulan data melalui: 1) interview yang mendalam. 2) Observasi partisipatif. 3) catatan lapangan dan 4) Dokumen. Proses analisis data dilakukan mulai dari pengumpulan data, editing (pemilahan) dan pengecekan keabsahan data,untuk pengecekan keabsahan data peneliti menggunakan metode tringulasi data. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif dengan mengacu model interaktif Miles dan Huberman, yang meliputi pengumpulan data, reduksi, penyajian data, dan menarik kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Subjek penelitian ini adalah kepala sekolah, dewan guru, tenaga kependidikan dan komite sekolah. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sebagai berikut: (1) Idealized influence yang dimiliki kepala SDN Kedaung Kaliangke 03 Pagi yaitu kepala sekolah melibatkan guru, karyawan, pengawas pembina, dan komite sekolah baik dalam penyusunan visi, misi, tujuan, dan program kegiatan sekolah, selalu mengadakan rapat rutin terkait dengan kendala yang dihadapi dalam program kegiatan sekolah. (2) Inspirational motivation yang dimiliki kepala SDN Kedaung Kaliangke 03 Pagi yaitu kepala sekolah tidak hanya memakai satu gaya kepemimpinan tapi selalu melihat situasi dan kondisi yang dihadapi. Nilai yang ditanamkan oleh kepala sekolah SDN Kedaung Kaliangke 03 Pagi antara lain saling salam, sapa, senyum. Kepala sekolah  bergabung dengan guru dan karyawan saat jam istirahat, atau saat tidak ada tugas atau kewajiban yang harus diselesaikan. (3) Intellectual stimulation yang dimiliki kepala SDN Kedaung Kaliangke 03 Pagi yaitu kepala sekolah menanamkan penyelesaian kerja secara cekatan, tepat waktu, dan kepala sekolah juga menghindari menggurui para guru dan karyawan tetapi mengajak untuk saling bekerjasama. (4) Individualized consideration yang dimiliki kepala SDN Kedaung Kaliangke 03 Pagi yaitu kepala sekolah selalu menindaklanjuti kebutuhan guru, karyawan maupun siswa, selalu mengadakan workshop, pelatihan seperti MGMP internal maupun MGMP ekternal, dan studi banding. (5) Initiative of culture yang dimiliki kepala SDN Kedaung Kaliangke 03 Pagi yaitu kepala sekolah berusaha bersikap positif, seperti hal kecil misalnya sholat dhuha disela-sela kesibukannya, memecahkan masalah misalnya dalam kedisiplinan guru dengan cara mengamati dan menanyakan alasan kenapa sering datang terlambat. Kepala sekolah bersikap tegas terkait dengan kewajiban dalam pelaksanaan tugas dan bersikap lembut atau bahkan ngayomi terlepas dari tugas dan tanggungjawabnya sebagai kepala sekolah. Dalam Praktik kepemimpinan transformasional kepala sekolah yang diterapkan pada SDN Kedaung Kaliangke 03 Pagi persepektif Al-Qur’an adalah dengan melakukan internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter, dengan internalisasi nilai-nilai karakter dan menciptakan budaya relegius sekolah sangat berpengaruh positif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi kepribadian guru. Adapun nilai-nilai karakter yang diinternalisasikan adalah sebagai berikut: (1) kepribadian yang mantap dan stabil. (2) Kepribadian yang dewasa. (3) Kepribadian yang disiplin. (4) Kepribadian yang arif. (5) Kepribadian yang berwibawa. (6) Kepribadian yang teladan bagi peserta didik dan (7) Kepribadian berakhlaq mulia. Proses internalisasi melalui: (1) Pembinaan rutin dan pembiasaan. (2) Reward and Punistment. (3)Aturan-aturan sekolah. (4) Persuasive/ajakan. (5) Penciptaan suasana yang islami/religius dengan pendekatan moral knowing, moral feeling  dan moral action dengan tahapan transformasi, transaksi dan traninternalisasi. Implikasi terhadap peningkatan kompetensi  kepribadian guru yaitu adanya peningkatan: (1) Kepribadian yang mantap dan stabil dengan indikator guru taat pada norma hukum, sosial dan agama, bangga menjadi guru dan bersih aqidahnya. (2) Meningkatnya kepribadian yang dewasa dengan indikator kemandirian, sabar tidak emosi serta memiliki etos kerja. (3) Adanya peningkatan kepribadian  yang arif  yaitu dengan indikator pola berfikir dan bertindak sesuai dengan norma agama dan budaya setempat. (4) Kepribadian yang berwibawa dengan indikator gaya dan prilaku guru yang terbuka ketika di ajak bicara dan berprilaku sopan  serta tidak melakukan hal-hal  yang menghilangkan martabat guru.  (5) Adanya peningkatan keteladanan dengan indikator guru-guru tidak kasar dan sombong  dalam berbicara dan bersikap dan penampilannya rapi, manarik serta terbiasa kerja keras. (6) Meningkatnya  kedisiplinan  para guru indikatornya dari dokumen absensi sembilan puluh sembilan  persen aktif. (7) Kepribadian yang memiliki akhlaq mulia indikatornya tidak adanya guru yang bertindak melanggar norma-norma agama dan hukum, bersikap jujur, ikhlas dan suka menolong.

This study examined the mediating effect of organizational citizenship behavior on the performance of small and medium-sized enterprises in China and investigates the factors that affect the performance of small and medium-sized enterprise. The factors investigated include idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration. The results show that intellectual stimulation, inspirational motivation, individualized consideration had positive effects on organizational performance. Inspirational motivation, individualized consideration positive effects on organizational citizenship behavior. At the same time, inspirational motivation, individualized consideration can influence organizational performance through the meditating effect of organizational citizenship behavior.

This Participatory and Appreciative Action and Reflection (PAAR) investigation illustrates a leader’s first steps in a “values-to-action” journey. Drawing on the interface between transformational leadership and organizational culture, this study focused on the birth of the Severn Stars—a professional netball club in the United Kingdom. In particular, this PAAR investigation explored how the leader’s values were operationalized through the club’s inaugural year. Fourteen operational managers, coaches, and players were individually interviewed in order to gain an appreciative gaze and subsequently reframe their lived experience. Results demonstrated how transformational leadership was manifested through the pragmatic deployment of club values and how the organizational culture was, in part, characterized by individualized consideration, intellectual stimulation, idealized influence, and inspirational motivation. These behaviors and the organizational culture were shown to enhance prosocial relationships and social connections across the club, the influence of the Super Stars, and stakeholders’ perceptions of autonomy.

Objective - The main objectives of this study is to examine the relationship between transformational leadership characteristic (i.e., idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individual consideration), organizational commitment and job performance of the four State-Owned Banks employees in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Methodology/Technique - The research design applied in the study is a quantitative method. Data used in evaluating the model were gathered from the four State-Owned Banks in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. 345 permanent employees of those four State-Owned Banks participated in the survey. The Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), using LISREL 8.8 Software will be employed to examine the relationship among the constructs in the study, which are transformational leadership characteristic, organizational commitment, and job performance. Findings - The findings of the study concluded that transformational leadership characteristic insignificant relationship on job performance, transformational leadership characteristic positive significant relationship on organizational commitment, organizational commitment positive significant relationship on job performance, and Organizational commitment mediates the relationship between transformational leadership characteristic and job performance of employees of the four State-Owned Banks in Pontianak, West Kalimantan. Novelty - Variables used in this study partially been done but research regarding all variables of employees of the four State-Owned Bank in Pontianak, West Kalimantan, Indonesia felt there was still no. Maya Widyana Dewi, 2014. The Influence of Transformational Leadership To Valuation Observed From Learning And Growth Perspective of Balance Scorecard In Rumah Sakit Umum Daerah Karanganyar. The research was carried in order to know the influence behavior of transformational leadership that consist of Idealized Influence, Inspirational Motivation, Intellectual Stimulation and Individualized Consideration, in a partial (dimentional) or simultant (all of it) to valuation measurement that is observed from learning and growth perspective of balanced scorecard in RSUD Karanganyar. This research was carried out using survey method, is a research that takes a sample from a population and using questioner as an instrument with judgmental sampling. The sample is 112 fixed employee in RSUD Karanganyar, medic and non medic employee. While the result of the analysis shows, in a partial manner, transformational leadership that has the shape of inspirational motivation and individualized consideration have significant influence to valuation observed from learning and growth perspective, whereas idealized influence and intellectual stimulation have not. A simultant manner, idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation and individualized consideration have powerful influence to valuation observed from learning and growth perspective in Balanced Scorecard.Key word : balanced scorecard, kepemimpinan, kinerja, learning and growth

Transformational leadership supports higher education to frame their attitudes to shift their university forward. It has four leader higher education characteristics. Of these, idealized influence is defined as leader’s behavior and the follower’s attributions about the leader. Inspirational motivation refers to the ways by which transformational leaders motivate and inspire those around them. Individualized consideration represents the leader’s continuing effort to treat each individual as a special person and act as a mentor; who attempts to develop their potential. Finally, intellectual stimulation represents the leader’s higher education effort to stimulate followers to be innovative and creative to define problems and approach them in new ways. It is considered that who demonstrate these leader higher education characteristics of transformational leadership have effects on satisfaction leader University UII Yogyakarta and better performance at university. Therefore, this study purposes to discover the level of transformational leadership that higher education demonstrate at higher education during their administrative practices on daily basis. Results reveal that university demonstrate high level of characteristics of transformational leadership in terms of idealized influence, inspirational motivation, individualized consideration and intellectual stimulation behaviors.


This study employs structural equations modeling via PLS to analyze the 732 valid questionnaires in order to assess the proposed model that is based on the transformational leadership characteristics to identify its effect on the performance of employees in the government sector in Dubai. The main independent constructs in the model are idealized influence, inspirational motivation, intellectual stimulation, and individualized consideration. The dependent construct is employee performance. The study will describe relations among the various constructs. Our work has improved our insight in the importance of transformational leadership. Results indicated that all four independent variables significantly predicted employee performance with a various percentage. The proposed model explained 37% of the variance in employee performance
