<div align="center"><table width="645" border="1" cellspacing="0" cellpadding="0"><tbody><tr><td valign="top" width="439"><pre><strong>Abstract:</strong> This study aims to determine the correlation of metacognitive knowledge and problem solving abilities of students who are taught with the Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) and Verification learning model on buffer solution material. This study uses a test instrument at the end of learning. The research sample was conducted in two research classes at SMAN 1 Karangrejo Tulungagung. The test instrument used consisted of 2 types of tests with the topic of buffer solution material in the category of metacognitive knowledge and problem solving abilities with instrument reliability values with Cronbach alpha of 0.779 and 0.728 with high categories. Pearson product-moment correlation test resul1ts in research data indicate a strong correlation between metacognitive knowledge and problem solving ability with (<em>r<sub>count</sub></em> = +0954) with the most influential metacognitive component, conditional knowledge (<em>r</em></pre><sub>count</sub><pre> = +0.802).</pre><p class="Abstract"><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui korelasi pengetahuan metakognitif dan kemampuan <em>problem solving</em> siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan model pembelajaran <em>Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) </em>dan verifikasi pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan instrumen tes di akhir pembelajaran. Sampel penelitiannya dilakukan pada dua kelas penelitian di SMAN 1 Karangrejo Tulungagung. Instrumen tes yang digunakan terdiri dari dua jenis tes dengan topik materi larutan penyangga dalam kategori pengetahuan metakognitif dan kemampuan <em>problem </em>solving dengan nilai reliabilitas instrumen dengan <em>cronbach alpha</em> 0,779 dan 0,728 dengan kategori tinggi. Hasil uji <em>Pearson product-moment correlation</em> pada data penelitian menunjukkan adanya korelasi yang kuat antara pengetahuan metakognitif dan kemampuan <em>problem solving</em> dengan<em> </em>(<em>r<sub>hitung</sub></em><em>=</em><em>+</em>0.954) dengan komponen metakognitif yang paling berpengaruh yaitu pengetahuan kondisional (<em>r<sub>hitung</sub></em><em>=</em><em>+</em>0.802<em>)</em>.</p></td></tr></tbody></table></div>

Aim of this research is to investigate different impact of Process-Oriented Guided-Inquiry Learning (POGIL) and verification as learning approach at senior high school students’ metacognitive knowledge grade XI program IPA on acid-base topic. Research design used was quasi experimental. Hypothesis testing uses t-test with 5% (0,05) significance utilizing SPSS 21 application. Results show that (1) there is significance difference of students’ metacognitive knowledge that is taught by POGIL approach and verification, and (2) students that are taught by POGIL approach give better answer’s pattern of declarative, procedural, and conditional knowledge than students that are taught by verification approach.

Abstract. This research aims to see the effectiveness of using Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) toward problem solving ability of students. This research was conducted due to lack of information of students’ ability in solving the problem, especially students of Science Education Department (IPA) when they were given an innovative learning such POGIL. Problem solving ability is an ability that can be trained in learning process which is closely related to master the concept by students. Mix method is used in this research. The subject of this research is students of Science Education Department FKIP ULM batch 2015. To collect the data, it used quantitative data of pre-test and post-test of the ability of problem solving and qualitative data, observation and interview. The result of this research shows that the ability of students in solving the problem has been significantly increased by using POGIL.  Keywords: Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL), problem solving, science education  Abstrak. Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi karena belum diketahuinya bagaimana kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa pendidikan IPA ketika diberikan suatu pembelajaran inovatif salah satunya POGIL. Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan kemampuan yang didapat dilatihkan dalam suatu proses pembelajaran yang erat kaitannya dengan penguasaan konsep mahasiswa. Jenis penelitian ini merupakan penelitian mix method. Subyek penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa Prodi Pendidikan IPA FKIP ULM angkatan 2015. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dengan menggunakan data kuantitatif pretest dan posttest kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan data kualitatif dengan lembar observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah teknik analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah mahasiswa sebelum dan sesudah dilakukan pembelajaran POGIL mengalami peningkatan. Kata kunci: Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL), pemecahan masalah, pendidikan IPA

According to the research result, POGIL could be well promoted learning model to developing problem solving skill on acid-base topics. This result does imply to the next similar research that appropriate exploration of problem solving ability on another contextual chemistry topic such as rate of reaction, chemical equilibrium, and colligative properties. Exploration about metacognition involvement on POGIL also the other implication of this research result that can be deeply analyzed.

Abstract - This study aims to determine the effect of Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning model of Virtual Lab to the ability of solving physics problem of high school students of class X. This research type is quasi experiment with pretest-postest control group design research design. The population of this research is all students of class X MIPA SMAN 1 Kuripan with sampling technique using purposive sampling. There are two samples taken are the sample as experimental class given treatment in the form of learning using learning model POGIL assisted Virtual Lab and control class treated using conventional learning model. Data collection of problem-solving abilities is done by a blueprint test technique. The research hypothesis was tested by using the t-test polled variance with 5% significance. It was concluded that the use of Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning model (POGIL) with Virtual Lab has an effect on students problem solving ability with ttable = 2,00 <tcount = 3,11. Keywords: POGIL, Lab Virtual, Problem Solving Ability,

This study aims to determine a guided inquiry learning model enriched by problem solving can provide better results for students’ scientific argumentation skills than guided-inquiry learning models. This study applies a quasi-experimental research design with post-test and a descriptive design. The sampling technique in this study applies a cluster random sampling technique. The data of the students’ scientific argumentation skills is obtained from the ability of students to answer the descriptive questions of scientific argumentation. The instruments include learning instruments and measurement instruments. Descriptive analysis and a one-part t-test with the help of SPSS 25 for Windows are used in analyzing the data. The results show that guided inquiry learning model enriched by problem solving serves better results than guided inquiry models towards students' scientific argumentation skills in buffer solution material. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang diperkaya problem solving terhadap keterampilan argumentasi peserta didik pada materi larutan penyangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan rancangan penelitian eksperimental semu dengan pasca tes dan rancangan deskriptif. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan adalah cluster random sampling. Data keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah peserta didik diperoleh dari kemampuan peserta didik menjawab soal tes uraian keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah. Instrumen yang digunakan meliputi instrumen perlakuan dan instrumen pengukuran. Analisis data menggunakan analisis deskriptif dan uji-t satu pihak dengan bantuan program SPSS 25 for windows. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing yang diperkaya problem solving memberikan hasil yang lebih baik dibandingkan model inkuiri terbimbing terhadap keterampilan argumentasi ilmiah peserta didik pada materi larutan penyangga.

<p><strong>Abstract:</strong> The aim of this study is to investigate the difference of XI grade science students’ metacognitive knowledge as the impact of POGIL and verification learning on solubility equilibrium topic. The study used quasy experiment design. Analysis is done using Mann-Whitney U test at 5% significance. The result showed that there is difference on students’ metacognitive knowledge who are taught by POGIL and verification learning. The students who are taught by POGIL have higer metacognitive knowledge than that of are taught by verification learning.</p><strong>Abstrak:</strong><em> </em>Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan pengetahuan metakognitif siswa kelas XI IPA sebagai dampak dari pembelajaran POGIL dan verifikasi pada topik kesetimbangan kelarutan. Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalalah <em>quasy experiment</em>. Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan uji <em>Mann-Whitney U </em>pada taraf signifikansi 5%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat perbedaan pengetahuan metakognitif antara siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan menggunakan pembelajaran POGIL dan verifikasi. Siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan POGIL memiliki pengetahuan metakognitif lebih tinggi dibandingkan siswa yang dibelajarkan dengan pembelajaran verifikasi.

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran Termokimia melalui penerapan strategi Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) (POGIL) di kelas 11 SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. Penelitian ini menggunakan One Group Pretest-Posttest Design yang diadakan di SMAN 8 Pekanbaru pada tahun akademik 2017/2018. Objek penelitian adalah XI MIA 1 yang terdiri dari 32 siswa. Pengumpulan data siswa menggunakan teknik tes pretest dan posttest. Keberhasilan pembelajaran dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa ditunjukkan oleh peningkatan kriteria berpikir kritis dari hasil pretest dan posttest yang menganalisis persentase skor berpikir kritis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa. Siswa mengalami peningkatan dari kategori berpikir kritis sangat rendah ke kategori sangat tinggi dengan persentase 15,625%, dari kategori rendah ke kategori sangat tinggi adalah 40,625%, dari kategori rata-rata ke kategori sangat tinggi adalah 9,375%, dari kategori sangat rendah hingga kategori tinggi adalah 12,5%, dan dari kategori rendah ke kategori tinggi adalah 21,875%. Berdasarkan analisis data, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan strategi Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) mampu meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran Termokimia di SMAN 8 Pekanbaru.   The research was held to determine the improvement of student’s critical thinking ability on Thermochemistry subject through implementation of Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) strategy at 11th Grade of SMAN 8 Pekanbaru. This research used One Group Pretest-Posttest Design which held in SMAN 8 Pekanbaru at academic year of 2017/2018. The object of research is XI MIA 1 that consist of 32 students. The data collection of students used test technique which are pretest and posttest. The success of learning in improvement of student’s critical thinking ability is showed by improvement of criteria of critical thinking from pretest and posttest results that analyzed the score percentage of critical thinking. The result of research showed that there was an improvement of student’s critical thinking ability. The students have an increase from the very low category of critical thinking to very high category with percentage of 15,625%, from low category to very high category is 40,625%, from average category to very high category is 9,375%, from very low category to high category is 12,5%, and from low category to high category is 21,875%. Based on data analyze, it can be concluded that implementation of Process Oriented Guided Inquiry Learning (POGIL) strategy is able to improve student’s critical thinking ability on Thermochemistry subject at SMAN 8 Pekanbaru.
