Palavras-chave: Educação a distância; Qualificação profissional; Inclusão social.Introduction Courses to EAD Professional Qualification: Proposals for a Friendly EnvironmentAbstract The focus of the reasearch is to analyze the inclusion of disciplines in DL mode for Professional Training Courses, in a Vocational Technology Center of Civil State of Rio de Janeiro Construction. The research aims to assess whether educational environments are conducive to the implementation of Distance Education - Distance Education and to propose favorable conditions for a Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). This work focuses on cyberculture and also on contemporary mutations of relationship to knowledge (Lévy 1999). It uses Spritzer and Bittencourt (2009) to address issues of pedagogical and technical quality of courses mediated by EAD. The research methodology with a qualitative approach uses the following instruments: participant observation, semipadronizada interview, and documentary research. At the end of the field research and literature, scores are made about possible favorable environments that enable distance education modality in training courses in the Vocational Technology Center. These scores also make it possible to diagnose that sometimes, EAD is configured as a mechanism promoting detachment between subject and information. Keywords: Distance education; Vocational qualification; Social inclusion.

Using affinity networks as its basis, this study proposes a management model of distance learning (DL) professional training courses as a space conducive to knowledge diffusion, on the basis of the technological profile of course participants. The proposed model uses individual metrics of each actor in the network, the technological profile (TP) of the participants and a diagram of activities used for the actions taken during the pedagogical management of a distance learning course. This is an instrumental case study whose research method is strongly influenced by netnography. The data were collected from participants in two editions of a Brazilian support programme for municipal education leaders. The proposed model defines collective and individual management strategies and contributes to the management of education focusing on the success of the learning process in a virtual learning environment by incorporating the TP of subjects involved in distance learning courses.

This article deals with different strategies for group development in a virtual learning environment (VLE). For this purpose, we sought to investigate the organization and social interactions of students, during group dynamics that occurred in a distance education course. The methodology used in the research was qualitative and quantitative, with descriptive approach, classified as a case study. For data collection, we used the VLE ROODA communication tools (Forum, Contacts and Social Map), the environmental sociometry tool (Social Map), as well as participant observation and questionnaires. Thus, we analyzed the application of three group-formation strategies: random, chosen by the teacher and free choice. Interaction data categorization occurred within the virtual learning environment and was accomplished through the group development stages suggested by McClure. This study allowed us to determine that all three strategies are efficient for distance education, as long as the right time in class for the application of the strategy by the teacher is observed. This study aimed to elucidate the importance of using group work in distance education, especially for integrating students and enabling a greater number of social interactions in the virtual environment. Thus, the results confirm that the use of formation strategies can be effective for Distance Education, since the development of collective activities depends on cohesion and the mediation of conflicts between members of the group.

Palavras-chaves: Pesquisa na Universidade; Formação em Pesquisa; Trabalho de Conclusão de CursoScientific Research in the Training of University StudentsAbstract I was investigated regarding the resistance that university students have to get involved in research activity during their university training process. A field research was developed, from a qualitative perspective, supported in Phenomenology with students from the Faculty of Economic and Social Sciences, from the University of Carabobo (Venezuela). Discussion groups and participant observation were used to capture the information. A total of five groups were organized, three with seven participants and two with six; all students from the Schools of Commercial Administration and Public Accounting. From the results it emerged that the training for scientific research, during the career, is carried out through the lectureships of the research component. It was noted that student resistance to research activity, during their university training, is anchored to the existence of a gap, which has arisen between the research activity carried out by professors in the institution and the activity that students carry out in their Special Degree Work. Students have little knowledge regarding the scientific activity that takes place in the university, which limits their participation and involvement in these activities and generates a certain apprehension and fear due to the unknown and insecurities, since research is seen as something reserved for the "chosen ones". Furthermore, the low motivation towards research appeared related to the experience lived in the lectureships of the research component, the dynamics and didactics used by most of the professors; as well as the disarticulation between these lectureships with the ones of the disciplinary area. Despite this, the students considered that executing the final research project of the Special Degree Work is relevant in their professional training, due to its academic usefulness and its potential to strengthen disciplinary knowledge. This paper explores how outdoor performances actively define and create the essential character of open spaces in Brazil, a country known for its overwhelming abundance of outdoor life. We investigate the importance of open spaces within the urban fabric, and consider the ways in which the history and aspirations of the local community become meaningfully woven into these spaces. We chose an open space, or largo [3], in the city of Rio de Janeiro called Largo da Carioca, which embodies the relation between collective memory and appropriation. We then consider how the Largo has consistently been used as an arena of performance despite the intense urban changes and movement of people over the last 50 years. As a way of grasping the dynamic of the activities of the Largo da Carioca we adopted two approaches: historical-evolutive and participant observation. The first concerns the evolution of the urban space of Largo da Carioca and the background of outdoor performances as a way of introducing the popular arts of Rio de Janeiro, and as a way of connecting our theoretical analysis to the field research. In the second approach we use tools and methods from ethnographic research such as field annotations, direct interviews and visual resources, like photographs and video-shooting, so as to fulfill and complement our work. We argue that the urban essence of these performances is related to the ‘inviting’ conditions of this particular urban site and to its (in)formal structures, uses and regular activities. It invites – because of its openness, formal and social largeness and amplitude – a singular melange of uses and appropriations through which the formal and social are amalgamated – for, as one informant said, it is ‘an open space of constant comings and goings’ (Igor Ferreira, 13/07/03).

G. I. Gurdjieff (c.1866–1949) was born in Gyumri, Armenia and raised in the Caucasus and eastern Asia Minor. He also traveled extensively throughout Turkey to places of pilgrimage and in search of Sufi teachers. Through the lens of Gurdjieff’s notion of legominism, or the means by which spiritual teachings are transmitted from successive generations, this article explores the continuing significance of spiritual practice and tradition and the ways that these forms remain relevant in shaping contemporary trends in spirituality. Beginning with Gurdjieff’s use of legominism, the article provides reflection on some early findings done in field research in Turkey— through site visits, interviews and participant-observation—conducted in the summers of 2014 and 2015. The aim of the project is both to meet individuals and groups, particularly connected to Sufism, that may have some contact with the influences that Gurdjieff would have been familiar with, and to visit some of the sites that were part of Gurdjieff’s early background and which served to inform his work. Considerations of contemporary practices include the view of spiritual transmission, and practices of pilgrimage, prayer and sohbet, or spiritual conversation, in an ongoing discourse about spiritual transformation.

Constraints on our personal and professional life imposed by the COVID 19 pandemic have radically influenced our approach to forms of education, including those used in further professional training of employees. This shift means the focus on distance education as a managed educational form, which is suitable for further professional training. The aim of the paper is to present the implementation of distance education in further professional training in enterprises and based on the empirical research propose ways of improving options of education. Distance education is characterised in terms of its principles and developmental stages. Its first generation was correspondence education. The Learning Management System (LMS) and Learning Content Management System (LCMS) are described as the systems applied in further professional training. The research was conducted by means of the questionnaire method, combined with the pre-research survey. Results of empirical research are presented in tables. Separate parts of the paper deal with ICT application in corporate education (correspondence education, Computer-based training (CBT), Web-based training (WBT), Technology Based Training (TBT) and with the utilisation of Learning Management Systems (LMS). Analysis of respondent opinions shows that respondents tend to prefer the face-to-face form of corporate education. The length of the pandemic is going to affect the spread of e-learning in corporate education and its role in education. The learners’ interest may be expected to be shifted to LCM and LCMS utilisation. The paper is a partial result of the research scheme VEGA No. 1/0309/18 “Social networks in human resource management” supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Research and Sports, Slovakia
