It is very important to measure financial performance to assess the accountability of local governments in managing regional finances. Accountability is not just the ability to show how public money is spent but includes the ability to show how public money is spent efficiently, effectively and economically. The problem that is currently being faced by the Medan City Government is the fluctuating percentage of PAD achievement of the Medan City Government from 2014 – 2018. This study aims to determine the financial performance of Medan City measured based on the Regional Financial Independence Ratio Analysis, PAD Effectiveness Ratio, PAD Efficiency Ratio, Ratio Degree of Fiscal Decentralization, Growth Ratio and Harmony Ratio for the period 2014-2018. This study uses a quantitative descriptive method that is doing calculations on the financial data obtained to solve problems that occur by analyzing the ratio of regional financial independence, PAD effectiveness ratio, PAD efficiency ratio, fiscal decentralization degree ratio, growth ratio and compatibility ratio. The results of this study indicate that the financial performance of the Medan City Government is quite good from the aspect of independence with the "participatory" category, then from the aspect of the effectiveness ratio and efficiency ratio, it is still necessary to pay attention again because the average ratio results show the category of being less effective and less efficient. On the aspect of the degree of decentralization, the results show a "medium" category where the amount of PAD contributes quite well to regional income in Pemko Medan. The resulting compatibility ratio shows that the percentage of the use of APBD for operational expenditure is higher at 76.7% compared to capital expenditure, which is 23.2%. The results of the regional income and expenditure growth ratio in the Medan City Government have decreased and increased every year.

This study aims to analyze the financial performance of the Bengkulu City government with a degree of fiscal decentralization approach and to determine the effect of the PAD component on the Bengkulu City Government Financial Performance. The data used in this study is secondary data in the form of time series data and processed by multiple linear regression analysis tools (multiple regression). The empirical results of this study indicate that based on the calculation of the degree of fiscal decentralization ratio, the financial capacity of Bengkulu City is still at a very low capability level which is founded a very large difference between government spending and regional opinion. So it appears that Bengkulu  Government still relies on assistance from the Central Government and is not yet independent. This can be an underline for local government to improve their ability being more independent and capable.

Interest rates play a key role in attracting foreign investor activity in the country. This study investigated the effect of interest rates on foreign investor activity at Nairobi Securities Exchange in Kenya. Monthly data was collected from Nairobi Securities Exchange, Central Bank of Kenya and Kenya National Bureau of Statistics. Time series data for eleven year period spanning from January 2009 to December 2019 was used.  The multiple regression model results disclosed that interest rates as measured by lending rate had a positive and statistically significant effect on foreign investor. Inflation rate results had a negatively but statistically significant effect on foreign investor. The results for exchange rate had a negative but statistically insignificant effect on foreign investor activity. The deposit rate results indicated a negative and statistically significant effect on foreign investor activity implying that commercial banks deposit rate has an effect on foreign investor activity. The results for 91-day treasury bills specified a positive and non-statistically insignificant relationship with foreign investor activity pointing that for 91- day treasury bills do not affect the foreign investor activity at Nairobi securities exchange in Kenya.

This study aims to determine how much influence the Debt to Assets Ratio (DAR) and Debt to Equity Ratio (DER) have on the Return on Equity (ROE) of PT Bank Mandiri Tbk which are listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The research design used in this research is associative/quantitative research. The population in this study is the annual financial statements of PT. Bank Mandiri Tbk for the period 2012-2019, while the sample was taken using time series data, namely the annual financial statements of PT. Bank Mandiri Tbk for the period 2012-2019 which consists of balance statements, income statements, and cash flow from funding activities from 2012 to 2019. The result of the coefficient of determination (R Square) is 0.813. This figure means that 0.813 or 81.3% of the diversity of data from financial performance data can be explained by the two independent variables, namely the Debt to Asset Ratio and the Debt to Equity Ratio. While the rest (1-0.813 = 0.817) or 18.7% is explained by other factors outside the study. The results of statistical tests show that the Asset Ratio and Debt to Equity Ratio together (simultaneously) have an effect on financial performance (Return on Equity).

This study examines the effect of financial deepening on financial performance of Nigerian Deposit Money Banks using time-series data spanning 1990Q1-2017Q4. The financial performance is expressed by return on assets (ROA) and return on equity (ROE) with total bank liability, private sector credit and market capitalization as measure of financial deepening. The technique of analysis deployed is autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) to co integration. The findings show that the effect of total bank liability is positive and significant. Market capitalization and private sector credit on the other hand exert negative and significant effect. The study concludes that financial deepening affect financial performance of Deposit Money Banks in Nigeria. It then recommends effective loan recovery strategy to mitigate the negative influence of private sector credit due to non-performing loans.

The data used in this study were sourced from the Central Statistics Agency and the Directorate General of Fiscal Balance so that the data in this study were secondary data using the econometrics method through a panel data regression equation in the form of a combination of 10-year time series data (2008-2017) and cross section data 6 Regency / City areas in Gorontalo Province. Estimation is done using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM). The results of this study indicate that (1) Partially the degree of fiscal decentralization has a negative effect (unidirectional relationship) and significant on poverty means that the greater the fiscal decentralization variable will have an impact on reducing the level of poverty (2) Partially economic growth has a negative effect (unidirectional relationship) and significant to poverty means increasing economic growth can reduce poverty levels (3) Simultaneously the degree of fiscal decentralization and economic growth have a significant effect on poverty in Gorontalo Province. The banking sector is the most vital partner of development for countries' economies. It has a remarkable contribution to the country's Gross Domestic Product. This study investigates the relationship between the market interest rate and commercial banks' financial performance. As Bangladesh's banking industry is growing, it is vital to maintain a more robust profitability level for its financial stability and soundness. Banks have some determinants that have a significant impact on their performance. The convenience sampling method is used to select the targeted sample. The study includes the time series data of eight years of fifteen commercial banks listed on the Dhaka Stock Exchange in Bangladesh. Multiple variable linear regression and correlation analysis are performed to examine the relationship of market interest rate with banks' profitability with statistical software, IBM SPSS version 25, and Microsoft excel. The study explored that the market interest rate has a significant positive impact on banks' profitability. It is also found that the lending rate and interest rate spread are significantly correlated with the banks' financial performance. The study recommended that banks make their investment to make a higher profit margin to enhance their management and financial soundness efficiency.
