The implementation of the Health System Evolution Plan has resulted in an increase in the rate of patient’s referral to hospitals of medical universities, and thus, hospitals’ performance indicators. The aim of the present study is to investigate the changes in hospital indicators after the implementation of the Health System Evolution Plan and the relationship between this plan and distribution of human resources in hospitals of Tehran University of Medical Sciences. This was a descriptive-analytical and cross-sectional study. The research population consisted of information about human resources and performance indicators before and after the implementation of the Health System Evolution Plan in the hospitals. The research tool was a data collection form. The collected data were analyzed in SPSS software, and analytical results were obtained using the Pearson correlation test and Two Sample t-test. The results showed that there was a significant relationship between hospitals performance indicators and the distribution of human resources after the implementation of the Health System Evolution Plan. In fact, this plan has increased the deficit of nursing and paraclinical staff. In addition, the results showed as hospitals’ performance indicators have increased, more human resources has been recruited in these hospitals. The success of Implementation of Health System Evolution Plan and development of general hospitals indicators need comprehensive. Planning for retainment of all groups of health workers and paying attention to appropriate distribution of physicians, nurses, and paraclinical staff in public hospitals and finally a comprehensive review of human resources standards by the Iranian Ministry of Health. © 2019 Tehran University of Medical Sciences. Background: This study aimed to investigate the effects of using a management contract mechanism on hospital’s performance indicators. Methods: A longitudinal comparative study was done in 4 educational hospitals affiliated to Iran University of Medical Sciences, Tehran, Iran. The related data to 17 performance indicators (including 4 financial, 6 facility utilization, 2 customers, 3 human resources, and 2 quality indicators) of the studied hospitals were collected for two years before management contract implementation and two years after its implementation using hospital information system (HIS). The collected data were ordered and analyzed using EXCELL and SPSS18 software. Results: The results showed the positive effects of contract management implementation on some financial, facility, customer, human resources and quality indicators. Hospital income, patients’ satisfaction, staff satisfaction and the number of inpatients and outpatients of studied hospitals improved significantly after contracting. Conclusion: Although, the present study showed the benefits of contracting process in delivering hospital services, its success largely depends on the clear monitoring of contract and the continuous development of the managerial capacity of contractors.

This study was conducted with the aim of indicating the relationship between competency of human resources and performance of the managers of human resources working in different sections of Bushehr University of Medical Sciences and Medical Services. The method used in this study was practical in terms of objectives and descriptive-correlational in terms of data collection. In this study, the statistical population consisted of all the managers of different parts of Bushehr University of Medical Sciences and Medical Services including 257 individuals. Among these individuals, 149 persons were chosen as the sample size using the Morgan table and the Simple Random Sampling Method. In order to collect the data, a researcher-made questionnaire with 21 questions was used including the questionnaires of Morgan (2011), Ramprest and Hubert (2008) and Mohammadi Zanjirani (2012) for competencies of human resources and it also included a researcher-made questionnaire of the managers’ performance with 30 questions based on the Keykhan Nezhad pattern (2008). The Cronbach’s alpha method was used for the final assessment which the values were 0.74 for the first questionnaire and 0.81 for the second one. The content validity test was also utilized to check the validity so that the questionnaires were approved by the related experts. Analyzing the collected information from the questionnaire was performed by using SPSS software in two parts of Descriptive and Inferential (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, the Pearson correlative test, and the multiple regressions). The results indicated that there was a positive and significant relationship between the two structures of human resources competencies and performance of the managers of human resources. Moreover, the relationship between all the dimensions of competencies (knowledge, attitude, skill and characteristic) and performance of the managers of human resources was significant.

In this study the authors analyze the effects of e-government reforms that began in mid-90ies by confronting the promises which these reforms made to government performance in the period before and after the reforms took place. The authors use fiscal and performance indicators of the Slovenian government and courts to argue that e-government did not yield any notable effects on the state performance. Finally, the authors analyze the reasons why e-government technology cannot be regarded as sustainable and suggest a different approach towards researching how to sustainably improve governance for generations to come.

This article shows the impact of organizational stress on the human resources from the health system. The research wants to highlight the main stressors factors among the medical staff, physicians, and assistants from Târgoviște Emergency Hospital from Dâmbovița County and to determine if the organizational stress affects the personal life of the employees. Understanding the sources of stress and reducing them has a great impact on job satisfaction and on the relationship patient-physician. Also, the article presents the impact of the COVID-19 on the health care workers from a psychological point of view. Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) affected global mental health.

The present research was aimed to the study the relationship between talent management and organizational development and job motivation of the employees in educational, research, student, and cultural deputies of Bushehr University of medical sciences and health services. The method of this research was practical in terms of objectives, descriptive-correlational in terms of data collection method. The statistical population of the research was the entire employees in educational, research, student, and cultural deputies of Bushehr University of medical sciences and health services (consisted of 301 individuals) among whom 170 individuals were chosen as sample size using Morgan table and simple random sampling method. In order to collect data, the three standard questionnaires of Talent management of Oheley (2007), organizational development of Peter Lok and John Crawford (2001), and job motivation of Herzberg (1965) were used. In order to evaluate the reliability of the questionnaires, Cronbach’s alpha coefficient was used, and the value of this coefficient was higher than 0.7 for each of the questionnaires. For evaluation of the validity, the content validity was used, and for this regard, the questionnaires were confirmed by the related experts. The analysis of the obtained data was performed through SPSS software in two parts of descriptive and inferential (Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, Pearson correlation test and multiple regression). The research findings indicated that there is a positive and significant relationship between talent management and organizational development and job motivation of teachers.

The Success of failure of an organization depends on the quality of its human resources and training being an integral part of the strategy to integrate human resources management with an organizations business strategy, coming at the age where employees are beginning to realize that employers have the potential to be much more dynamic and beneficial to the organization. Hence, this study was aimed to determine the relationship between training and employee performance in Mutare City Council, Zimbabwe. Correlational research design was used in this study, with an attempt describe and measure the degree of association between performance and training. A total of one hundred and thirty two (132) respondents (91 males and 41 females) were selected from the employees (population), purposive sampling technique and structured questionnaire were used in data collection. Data was analyzed using quantitative techniques, including inferential statistics. It was established that there was strong positive relationship between training and performance of employees.  It was recommended that all stakeholders, be involved in one way or the other in training to enhance employee knowledge, skills, ability, competencies and behaviour.

The aim of this research is assessment of the relationship between the adoption of social responsibility practices and the performance of the water sector companies. The complexity of challenges in the water sector means that innovative solutions are required, in the manner businesses are conducted and operated. In order to integrate sustainability into business companies, this investigation identifies performance indicators that recognise the main difficulties facing the water industry and contributes to define strategies sustainability for these companies, since the water market and the inherent value of water as a public good embrace all stakeholders. On the other hand, the financial crisis introduces in society, in general, the demand for greater interest on practices of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); for this reason, the authors defend the implementation of CSR strategies to get sustainable success in the water sector. Social anxiety disorder, pervasive and debilitating disorder with a high rate that affects many aspects of human life. The aim of the study was to assess the relation between social phobia and personality traits of Rafsanjan University of medical sciences students. By using Cochran formula and random stratified sampling, 284 person of Rafsanjan University of medical sciences students selected. Participants responded to questions of the NEO Personality and Social Phobia questionnaire. Data analyzed with Pearson correlation coefficient, analysis of variance and regression. Among the individuals, 11.6% had severe social phobia and 4.6% very severe. The relationship between social phobia and neuroticism was reversed and significant and other personality characters were significantly. Neuroticism and openness predicted social phobia significantly. The academic courses in terms of social phobia had not different with them but there were significant differences in the character of personality. <p><strong>INTRODUCTION:</strong> Academic burnout leads to creation of a series of negative and scattered thoughts, loss of hope and emotional and physical exhaustion in carrying out activities. Two factors that affect academic burnout are sleep quality and social intimacy. This study was conducted in order to investigate the relationship between sleep quality and social intimacy, and academic burn-out in the students of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences</p><p><strong>MATERIALS &amp; METHODS: </strong>This study was descriptive and correlational. The population of this study consisted of the students in Tabriz University of Medical Sciences and 196 medical students were selected. They completed Berso et al. Academic Burnout Questionnaire, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI) and Miller Social Intimacy Scale (MSIS). The validity of the questionnaires confirmed by experts’ views. Their reliability were obtained as 77%, 64% and 85% for academic burnout, sleep quality and social intimacy questionnaires respectively by calculating the internal consistency (Cronbach’s alpha). For data analysis, descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation test, Regression, cluster analysis and t-test were used.</p><p><strong>RESULTS:</strong> The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between sleep quality and academic burnout at the level p&lt;0.05 (r=0.38). There was a negative and significant relationship between social intimacy and academic burnout at the level p&lt;0.05 (r= -0.40). Also, the regression results showed that sleep quality and social intimacy were able to predict 37% and 39% of academic burnout respectively. Moreover, the students were divided into two clusters of individuals with high social intimacy and individuals with low social intimacy. No significant difference was found between the two types in terms of the variable of academic burn-out.</p><p><strong>CONCLUSION:</strong> Based on the research results, it can be stated that the variables of sleep quality and social intimacy are the predictor factors of academic burn-out.</p>

ABSTRACTThis study employs path analysis to examine the relationship between clergy age and certain quantitative indices of church life in two samples: a sample of 1,553 villages and rural communities, ranging in size from 251 to 1,250 inhabitants and a sample of 584 suburban parishes. The data indicate that clergy aged sixty or over working in rural parishes tend to have contact with a smaller number of active church members, as indicated by attendance on a normal Sunday, than younger clergy working within comparable rural parishes, although they maintain contact with the same number of nominal church members, as indicated by the electoral roll and festival communicants. Clergy aged sixty years or over working in suburban parishes, on the other hand, have contact with the same number of active church members as younger clergy working within comparable suburban parishes. These findings are discussed in the light of a growing body of research which suggests that changing patterns of rural ministry may be generating difficulties and stresses for clergy approaching the age of retirement.
