Key words: digital media, multimedia technology, climate change, cyber ecocriticism, pedagogy Ecocriticism in general has concentrated on literary texts and has relegated other types of texts, particularly digital and interactive texts which are those which arguably have the greatest influence and readership in the 21st century. Thus, the need for ecocritical study of digital media, which would combine the investigation of the rhetorical and narrative features both of websites as a totality and of their specific content, as well as reception and reader response analyses. Using the experience of a graduate course, the multiple benefits of this approach illustrates how the ecocritique of digital media can achieve numerous objectives in a variety of pedagogical situations and provide a way to integrate environmental issues into skill dominant courses.

ABSTRACT This research aims to understand how the Brazilian digital media presents and interprets data on the allegations of violence against the elderly. The hypothesis that drives such work is that certain categories of violence are so naturalized that they are not even approached by the media outlets, reproductive technologies of a speech that stereotypes old age. Carried out by analysis of published news reports of violence against the elderly divulged on the World Wide Web, retrospectively covering a period of 10 years. We realize that, despite numerous efforts and the existence of laws and policies, underpublicized, there is much to be advanced so that the elderly can consider themselves proper citizens and subjects of law.   KEYWORDS: Elderly; Violence; Media; Stereotypes. Abstract This study examined psychometric properties and feasibility of the Family Psychoeducation (FPE) Fidelity Scale. Fidelity assessors conducted reviews using the FPE fidelity scale four times over 18 months at five sites in Norway. After completing fidelity reviews, assessors rated feasibility of the fidelity review process. The FPE fidelity scale showed excellent interrater reliability (.99), interrater item agreement (88%), and internal consistency (mean = .84 across four time points). By the 18-month follow-up, all five sites increased fidelity and three reached adequate fidelity. Fidelity assessors rated feasibility as excellent. The FPE fidelity scale has good psychometric properties and is feasible for evaluating the implementation of FPE programs. Trial registration ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT03271242.

Abstract Background Edge restenosis still occurs after stent implantation, even by using new generation drug-eluting stents (DES) considered to have favorable biomechanical properties. Mechanical stress imposed on the stent edge are thought to be aggravated by hinge motion at a point between the stented and unstented segments, inducing chronic local inflammation and neointimal overgrowth. Purpose The aim of this study was to investigate the association between the development of edge restenosis and hinge motion in right coronary artery (RCA) where the excessive vessel movement is commonly observed. Methods Among consecutive 650 lesions in RCA where new generation DESs were implanted between 2009 and 2019, 427 serial lesions with sets of angiographies at baseline and follow-up (6–18 month) were included. In addition to conventional quantitative angiography analysis, hinge angle at stent edges was measured (Fig. 1). All the appropriate data for intravascular imaging were analyzed for both stent edges and reference segments. Results Binary restenosis occurred in 43 lesions, and 39 of them were referred to re-intervention. Fifty five percent of them were related to stent edges (15 at proximal and 9 at distal edges). Classical risk factors including diabetes and hemodialysis were more prevalent in the restenosis group (p<0.05). Hinge angle was statistically larger in edge restenosis group than body restenosis or no restenosis group (17.3° vs 11.6° vs 10.6°, p<0.001, Fig. 2). In per-edge analysis, hinge angle, dissection and residual plaque ratio were the independent predictors for binary restenosis (Table 1) with the optimal cut-off value of hinge angle 11.5°. The coexistence of excessive hinge angle and residual plaque burden had an amplified effect on the angiographic stenotic progression at stent edge (p for interaction <0.001) and the incidents of binary restenosis (16.7% vs 1.7% p<0.01, Figs. 3,4). Conclusion Substantial stress determined by angulation at the stent edge and its interaction with residual plaque can be considered as one of the plausible mechanisms for edge restenosis. For tortuous RCA lesions, it would be important to decide the stent-landing zone for minimizing hinge motion and optimize the future stent design. Abstract PURPOSE To describe decreased growth velocity with long term use of BRAFV600e and MEK inhibition in a patient with anaplastic ganglioglioma. RESULTS 4-year-old patient was found to have a 6 x 4.6 x 5 cm mass in the hypothalamus. Pathology consistent with anaplastic ganglioglioma and chromosomal microarray revealed a BRAFV600e mutation. Patient started on dabrafenib and trametinib and tumor decreased 85% after 3 months. She is stable without significant toxicities 39 months on therapy, and is now 8 years old. Patient had been growing at the 25% for weight and 12% for height but is now 65% for weight and 0.5% for height. It is difficult to tease out the relationship between the tumor, the location of the tumor, and the BRAF and MEK inhibitors and their effect on growth. Discussions with the family and endocrinology are ongoing but being <1% for height will lead to decrease in quality of life. CONCLUSIONS Further follow-up study is needed to determine if this is truly a long-term toxicity, or if this may just be a direct result of the location of the tumor. Would supplementation with growth hormone in this patient lead to losing control of a high grade tumor, or would it simply replace a hormone that is not produced?

That is the achievement of the psychologists. In our own society they are very kind, and do everything for our own good. The tales of what they do elsewhere are rather terrifying.—Hilda NeatbySo Little for the Mind (1953)Documenting the impact of the mental hygiene movement has been problematical for historians. The hygienists operated in the realm of mass psychology and social relations, within the “mentalities” of children—particularly of the postwar generation—who have left little observable evidence of changing social attitudes and relationships resulting from changes to mass child-rearing and schooling practices. The influence of the movement upon parenting literature and curricular documents may be readily observed in postwar baby books, magazines, newspapers, radio scripts, and films, as well as in the changing language of educational theorists and practitioners. But as to seeing the actual effects of this material upon any society, documentary evidence has remained elusive.

A study of digital news on public libraries is presented through media mapping and a thematic and consumption analysis based on Facebook interactions. A total of 7,629 digital news items published in 2019 have been considered. The media mapping includes the evolution of the volume of news publications, the most prominent media outlets and journalists, and the sections in which most news items are published. For the thematic and consumption analysis, the top 250 news items with the highest number of Facebook interactions are considered, defining 15 thematic categories. The most published topics include: new libraries and spaces, collections, and libraries from a historical perspective. The topics that generate the most interactions are the value of libraries (social, human, and cultural capital), libraries from other countries, and new libraries and spaces. The value and originality of the current study lie in the measurement of the consumption of news and digital media through Facebook interactions. The methods used and results obtained also provide new knowledge for the disciplines of Communication and Media Studies by developing the idea of media mapping for its application to other topics and media in future work, as well as for Librarianship, particularly the information obtained on public libraries.

Objective: Validated through experimental studies a new generation of flow diverters (Surpass™ FD) was evaluated for treatment of intracranial aneurysms (IA). We present our multicenter preliminary clinical and angiographic experience. METHODS: To achieve the calculated flow disruption between the parent artery and aneurysm for thrombosis, single FDs were placed endovascularly in parent arteries. Implants measured 2.5-5.3mm in diameter with a length of 10-80mm. Patients were enrolled harboring a wide range large and giant wide-neck, fusiform and multiple small and blister-type aneurysm. Clinical and angiographic follow-up were performed at 1-3, 6, and 12 months. RESULTS: A total of 186 consecutive IA in 161 patients (mean age 57.1 years) were treated at 33 centers. Fifty-three aneurysms were smaller than 5 mm, 64 were 5-9.9mm in diameter, 47 were 10-20mm in diameter, and 22 were larger than 20mm (10.4±0.7mm, neck size 6.0±0.5mm [mean±SEM]) . The aneurysms originated in 63.4% from the internal carotid artery; 22% and 14.5% of the lesions were located in the anterior circulation distal to Circle of Willis and posterior circulation respectively. Technical success was achieved in 182 aneurysms (98%); average number of devices used per aneurysm was 1.05. Permanent morbidity and mortality during the follow-up period of mean 8.4months (range 1-24 months) including periprocedural complications for patients with aneurysms of the anterior circulation were encountered in 5 (3.7%) and 2 (1.5 %) patients respectively and 1 (3.7%) and 4 (14.8%) respectively for patients with aneurysms of the posterior circulation location. One-hundred-ten patients (70.5%) harboring 127 (70.2%) were available for clinical and angiographic follow-up and showed a complete or near complete aneurysm occlusion in 63 (81.8%) of the ICA. Aneurysms of the ICA≥10mm that were completely covered by FD and not previously stent-treated with a minimum of 6 months follow-up available in 16 patients showed a complete obliteration in 81.3% (n=13) and >90% occlusion in remaining 3 patients. CONCLUSION: Preliminary data demonstrate high safety and efficacy of a new generation of FD for a wide range of IA of the anterior and posterior circulation with a single implant.
