The aim of this research is to examine the adequacy of tools and teaching materials as well as physical and technological conditions in science classes according to the views of science teachers. To this end, qualitative research methods are designed according to phenomenological design. The sample of the research consists of 16 science teachers working in the academic year of 2017–2018 in Mugla province. Semi-structured interview techniques were used to analyze the collected data using descriptive analysis. According to research findings, most of the interviewed teachers stated that class size is appropriate. Teachers have emphasized that there are deficiencies in physical and technological conditions. Especially in some schools, it has been discovered that there are no labs, computers or Internet and interactive whiteboards. It was also determined that the teachers had classroom arrangement as a conventional fixed row arrangement for desks. There is little place in the learning-teaching process for posters, banners, and models. Keywords: Science, physical and technological conditions, tools.

The aims of this study are to reveal how science teachers integrate science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in their lessons and their opinions regarding the advantages and disadvantages they have identified while integrating STEM in their lessons, as well as what kind of difficulties they encounter in the implementation process. For this purpose, a semi-structured interview form was developed and qualitative research method was used. STEM is based on a holistic and interdisciplinary approach to the four disciplines rather than the independent teaching of these four disciplines. The study group comprises 12 science teachers in the province of Mugla in the 2017–2018 academic year. Research findings show that science teachers generally have a positive attitude towards using STEM-based activities but are not able to implement STEM-based activities in an appropriate, complete and accurate way because of difficulties in terms of ‘physical conditions’ and ‘time management’. Teachers stated that STEM education encourages students to do research.

This study was conducted to determine the views of academicians regarding “The Views of Physical Education and Sports Teaching Instructors on Education in the Covid-19 Period”. The study used the phenomenological design, which is among qualitative research designs. The study group comprised 63 academicians carrying out duty in 21 different universities in Turkey during the 2019-2020 academic year. In line with the goal, the study was carried out with academicians who could contribute on voluntary basis. In order to determine the views of the academicians, a structured interview form was used. The interview form comprises four questions aiming to determine the necessity of distance education in the physical education area, which courses in the area can be given within the scope of distance education, possibility of teaching applied courses via distance education and problems they face in courses in the distance education process which has been put into effect compulsorily due to pandemic. The interview form was presented to the opinion of two instructors in the educational sciences area who have carried out qualitative research and then expert opinion was received. The application was conducted by primarily reaching the aforementioned academicians via telephone interview between 1 June-27 July 2020 and conveying the questions via e-mail. The descriptive analysis technique was used in analysis of the data. In the study 79% of the academicians stressed that applied courses should not be taught via distance education, while 52% stated that all theoretical courses could be taught via distance education. Examining the views of the academicians on the problems they faced in courses in the distance education process; 55% stated that the problems were associated with the system, 36% efficiency of the course, 30% inadequate student participation in the course, 21% inadequate student feedback, 21% evaluation, 19% inexperience about distance education and 17% lack of internet and computer opportunities in hometowns of students. Considering the findings of the study integratedly; it is believed that teaching applied courses via distance education is inadequate and inefficient. Also it is possible to state that it may not be appropriate to teach theoretical courses via distance education, except when necessary.

Morality is related to differentiation between ‘good (may be right)’ or ‘bad (may be wrong)’. It usually includes a range of rules that individuals what they should do or should not do in their society. Morality is a kind of specific cognitive concept that involves conscious judgment and making decision on issues related to rightfulness, injustice, right-wrong, good-bad and behave in parallel with these decisions and judgments. Emotional intelligence has a moral dimension as well. Goleman clarifies concept of emotional intelligence, and he underlines emotions’ role on human behaviour and their close relationships. According to Goleman, the emotional intelligence is the ability to identify, assess, and control the emotions of one self, others, and groups. The study group consists of eight undergraduate students were studying at Eskisehir Osmangazi University Faculty of Education in the academic year 2013-2014. Students were selected from 183 university students among their results from Emotional Intelligence Scale (Ergin, Ismen and Ozabacı, 1999) and Determination of Value Test (Rest, 1979) was applied with 183 undergraduate students with the method of standards sampling with the help of the minimum and maximum scores was selected from individuals (Yildirim and Simsek, 2008). The data were collected by a semi-structured interview form that was prepared by the researchers. The development of form was created for the purpose of considering the questions of the study. Data were collected by interview and qualitative data collection techniques. During the interviews, audio recording was used with the data were analysed the collected recordings with the descriptive analysis. After the categorization of data, the Cappa coefficient was calculated for the consistency between categories. The majority of the participants explained themselves as fair, honest, and emotional. ÖzetAhlak, bireyin doğru ile yanlışı ayırt edebilmesini sağlayan ilkeler ve değerler bütünüdür. Ahlak gelişimi toplumun tüm değerlerine kayıtsız şartsız edilgin bir uyma değil, topluma etkin bir uyum sağlamak için değerler sistemi oluşturma süreci olarak tanımlanmaktadır. Duygusal zekâ, kişinin kendisinin ve başkalarının hislerini tanıma, kendisini motive etme, içindeki ve ilişkilerindeki duyguları yönetme yetisidir. Araştırma, probleme uygun olarak algıların gerçekçi ve bütüncül bir biçimde, derinlemesine ortaya konmasını hedefleyen nitel araştırma modeli ve olgu bilim deseni ile desenlenmiştir. Araştırmaya Eskişehir Osmangazi Üniversitesi Eğitim Fakültesi’nde 2013-2014 öğretim yılında öğrenim gören 8 lisans öğrencisi katılmıştır. Araştırmaya katılan öğrenciler, daha önceden kendilerine Duygusal Zekâ Ölçeği (Ergin, İşmen ve Özabacı, 1999) ve Değerlerin Belirlenmesi Testi (Rest, 1979) uygulanmış olan 183 lisans öğrencisi arasından aykırı durum örneklemesi (Yıldırım ve Şimşek, 2008) yardımıyla en az ve en çok puan alan bireyler arasından seçilmiştir. Veriler nitel veri toplama tekniklerinden görüşme tekniği ile araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme formu kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Verilerin toplanması aşamasında elde edilen ses kayıtlarının dökümü yapılmış ve dökümler üzerinden betimsel analiz yapılmıştır. Kodlamaların ardından, kodlayıcılar arası tutarlılığın belirlenebilmesi için Kappa katsayısı hesaplanmıştır. Çalışma grubundaki bireylerle yapılan görüşmeler sonucunda bireylerin çoğu kendisini adaletli, dürüst, duygusal olarak tanımladığı bulunmuştur.

<p class="apa">The aim of this research is to analyze opinions of teachers who work in preschool education institutions concerning precautions that should be taken for indoor and outdoor security. Study group of this research is determined by criterion sampling from purposeful sampling techniques. The study group of this research is consist of eight preschool teachers who work in four private and four public schools in Kocaeli İzmit district in the fall semester of 2013-2014 Academic Year. For the purpose of the research, data are collected with semi-structured interview technique. During the research, the interviews are recorded with tape recorder and the interviews are put down on paper then analyzed. After the recorded data are submitted to approval of participants, the analysis of the data has started. Date are analyzed with descriptive analysis method and coded then interpreted. In order to ensure validity of the research, the data are tried to be analyzed with direct quotes of the participants. Research findings show that the most important risk factors are caused by defective design of schools. Research results also show that schools have not only indoor security problems such as stairs and door but also external security problems such as garden and playgrounds.</p>

The infusion of environmental topics in science courses has long been considered an especially appropriate method of implementing the STS approach to science teaching. While this claim has been supported by anecdotal accounts and case studies, there are few relevant quantitative studies. To begin filling this void, a survey of science teachers in secondary schools in Dade County, Florida, was conducted to investigate the extent and effectiveness of the infusion of environmental topics in the science curriculum. The results of this study indicate that the responding science teachers are very likely to incorporate environmental topics in their science classes. They do this regardless of their length of tenure, and most have engaged in the practice from the beginning of their careers. Finally, while the experience of a teacher in using environmental topics has some positive effect in increasing student interest, the success of this method depends much more strongly on the frequency of its use. Those teachers routinely using environmental topics as a vehicle for teaching science are most successful with it.

This is an interpretive case study to examine the teaching of an experienced science faculty who had a strong interest in teaching undergraduate and graduate science courses and nature of science specifically. It was interested in how he transformed knowledge from his experience as a scientist and his ideas about nature of science into forms accessible to his students. Data included observations (through the 12-week semester) and field notes, Views of Nature of Science-Form B, as well as semi-structured interview. Deductive analysis based on existing codes and categories was applied. Results revealed that robust SMK and interest in nature of science helped him address the different nature of science aspects, and produce original content-embedded examples for teaching nature of science. Although he was able to include nature of science as a part of a graduate course and to address nature of science myths that graduate students had, nature of science assessment was missing in his teaching. When subject matter knowledge and nature of science understanding support each other, it may be a key element in successful nature of science learning and teaching. Similar to science teachers, the development of assessment of nature of science may take more time than the development of other components of instruction (i.e., instructional strategy) for science faculties. Hence, this result may be an indication of the specific need for support to develop this component of teaching.

This thesis is purposed at proving the effectiveness of cartoon videos in teaching speaking to the Eighth Grade Students of SMPN 2 Rantau Kalimantan Selatan in academic year of 2013/2014, and showing that there is a significant difference in speaking ability between the students who were taught by using cartoon videos and those who were taught by using conventional method. This study is an experimental research. The population of this study was the eighth grade students of SMPN 2 Rantau Kalimantan Selatan in academic year of 2013/2014 which consisted of seven classes. The total number of population was 158. There were two classes taken as the sample, Class VIII B serving as control class were taught by using conventional method, while class VIII F as the experimental class were taught by using cartoon videos. Class VIII B consisted of 22 students and class VIII F consisted of 22 students. Both classes were given the pre-test at the beginning and the post-test at the end after the treatment. The data were collected by using speaking test. The data were analyzed by using t-test computation, descriptive analysis, and inferential analysis. The research findings show that there is a significant difference in students’ speaking ability between the experimental group taught by using cartoon videos and those who were taught by using conventional method. The result of the pre-test shows that both groups are poor, while the post-test result shows that the experiment group is better than the control one. The mean score of the experimental class in pre-test was 42.50 and that of control class was 42.73. The mean score in post-test of the experimental class was 75.68 and that of the control class was 57.50. It can be seen that the mean score of the experimental class was higher than that of control class in post-test. Furthermore, based on the hypothesis testing, it could be seen that the value of -t obtained (-5.245) < - t table (-2.018), at the significant level 5%. This implied that there is a significant difference of students’ speaking ability between the students who were taught by using cartoon videos and those who were taught by using conventional method.

This study aims to obtain problems encountered in special education in the direction of opinions of parents attending to Special Training and Rehabilitation Institution and develop solution suggestions compansating these problems. In the scope of study parents of 20 students were interviewed. Tha datas that were obtained as a result of qualitative semi-structured interview form, were analysed by descriptive analysis method. The participant parents were asked 7 questions about education period, physical conditions, difficulties they encountered regarding their children in the scope of relations of teachers with parents and managers and point of view of society. Most of the participants expressed problems such as most of the problems should be solved by top levels, training hours are insufficient and rejection of society. Keywords: Special education, problems in special education, difficulties of parents

<p>Agriculture has predominantly been observed as the activity of men with little or no interest by women hence this study was conducted in two public senior high schools in the Assin South district of the Central region of Ghana aimed to investigate gender differences in attitude towards the learning of agricultural science. A sample of 198, comprising of 188 students and 10 teachers of agricultural science took part in the survey. The research instrument used for the data collection was questionnaire which was developed by the researchers in two different forms, one for the agricultural science students and the other for the agricultural science teachers. Research findings from the study indicated that gender had no significant influence on students’ attitude towards the learning of agricultural science. Also, the attitude of female students towards agricultural science as a profession is not different from that of the male students. The study again concluded that teachers and parents play a key role influencing students to pursue related science courses. However students should be given the room to express their choice of programme to pursue at the senior high level. It must be reiterated that teachers have a major role to play in increasing and sustaining the interest of students in the study of agricultural science. The study recommends that students especially females should be encouraged, towards building a positive attitude in learning of agricultural science to take up major future roles related to the field.</p>

With this research, it is aimed to determine the opinions of secondary school music teachers about the use of EBA. In line with the purpose of the research, the opinions of secondary school music teachers were taken by using the scanning model. The study group of the research consists of 22 music teachers working in ġanlıurfa in the 2021-2021 academic year. In order to collect data in the research, a semi-structured interview form was applied to the teachers. The data obtained as a result of the application were processed and descriptive analysis was made. As a result of the research, teachers related to EBA; They frequently use 'Live Lessons', 'Lessons' and 'My Page' modules, EBA contributes to them and the students, they do not have access problems to EBA, but students have access problems, they prefer 'Mobile Application' when using EBA, ' It was concluded that they performed the 'Live Lesson' module over the 'Zoom' application and did not record it, that they did not find the music lesson contents in the EBA sufficient, that they produced content and made the contents produced outside of the EBA accessible to the students.
