Fuzzy Set Theory has been developed during the last decades to a demanding mathematical theory. There exist more than 50,000 publications in this area by now. Unluckily the number of reports on applications of fuzzy technology has become very scarce. The reasons for that are manifold: Real applications are normally not single-method-applications but rather complex combinations of different techniques, which are not suited for a publication in a journal. Sometimes considerations of competition my play a role, and sometimes the theoretical core of an application is not suited for publication. In this paper we shall focus on applications of fuzzy technology on real problems in business management. Two versions of fuzzy technology will be used: Fuzzy Knowledge based systems and fuzzy clustering. It is assumed that the reader is familiar with basic fuzzy set theory and the goal of the paper is, to show that the potential of applying fuzzy technology in management is still very large and hardly exploited so far.

Abstract: The equality between women and men need to be integrated into the business management. It is a valid and current social demand which involves all social fields, from politics to economy. From our point of view, business management based on the Discourse Ethics of Jürgen Habermas can be the most successful way for companies to achieve this aim. This model gives us the key to promote a business management where equality becomes an inalienable value of corporate culture. In this line, the demand for business ethics and gender equality has been incorporated into the political and economic agenda of the European Union, understood as a resource to enhance the competitiveness of member countries. Thus, we will analyze the risk associated with this profitability discourse, while we address the potential of the dialogic ethics for business and the Gender Social Responsibility concept to promote gender equality in companies. Keywords: gender equality, business ethics, gender social responsibility. doi: https://doi.org/10.20318/femeris.2017.3546

This study examined the incorporation of tacit knowledge into corporate business intelligence and its impact on business performance, specifically analyzing individual productivity. Business productivity in relation to the use of knowledge has been investigated but using macro-dimensions not specifically oriented to individual workers' productivity. This study was based on externalization, one of the modes in the theory of organizational knowledge creation (that is, converting tacit knowledge into explicit knowledge). The findings on the literature stated that knowledge is the most important piece of business competitive advantage and that tacit knowledge is a key part of that knowledge. This research found that tacit knowledge did not influence individual engineers' productivity and as such did not affect business performance. Additionally, it found that tacit knowledge was not a factor that could be used to predict individual productivity. This research was the first attempt to investigate individual productivity in relation to tacit knowledge.

Research on the Implementation of Business Intelligence Software into Study ProcessLaima Zalieckaitė, Rimvydas SkyriusSummaryThe dynamic and complicated economic environment is driving businesses to respond swiftly to market changes and look for new opportunities; this drive requires decisions based on reliable and timely information. To handle huge volumes of accumulated data and a variety of information sources, companies have to apply business intelligence approaches. The set of business intelligence tools serves as a decision support environment providing simple, interactive and intuitive analytical functions. The growth of the business intelligence software market and functionality indicates its growing demand for business management; this growth has to be considered by academic institutions engaged in management studies. This paper examines the possible ways of using the business intelligence software in the study process, the possible problems and implementation modes.
