<p>The existence and role of religion (Islam) get a sharp criticism, which essentially needs a re-examination of religious dogma that has been frozen, if religion does not want to be abandoned by the swift stream of modernization. Truly the religion God revealed to the earth is for man. So religion is born to man, not man born to religion. If man is born to religion, then the most prominent is his transcendent dimension, the religious world from which he came, far from the earth. If so, then humans enter into the world aIkoholistik-theocentric, intoxicated. Factors that cause humans away from the ideal message of the Qur'an is a factor understanding of religion. A series of worship conducted by religious people such as prayer, zakat, fasting, pilgrimage, and the like only stop at the point of carrying out obligations (fiqh oriented) and become a symbol of piety, while the fruits of worship that dimensi sosial less visible. Among religious communities, there has been a misunderstanding in interpreting and appreciating and appreciating the symbolic message. As a result, religion is understood only as an individual savior and not as a social blessing.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p>Eksistensi dan peran agama (Islam) mendapatkan kritik tajam, yang intinya perlu adanya pengkajian ulang terhadap dogma agama yang selama ini telah membeku, jika agama tidak ingin ditinggalkan begitu saja oleh derasnya arus modernisasi. Sesungguhnya agama itu diturunkan Tuhan ke bumi memang untuk manusia. Jadi agama lahir untuk manusia, bukan manusia lahir untuk agama. Jika manusia lahir untuk agama, maka yang pal­ing menonjol adalah dimensi transendennya, dunia agama tempat asal ia turun, jauh dari bumi. Jika demikian, maka manusia masuk kedalam dunia <strong>a</strong>Ikoholistik-teosentris, mabuk ketuhanan. Faktor yang menyebabkan manusia jauh dari pesan ideal al Quran adalah faktor pemahaman terhadap agama. Serangkaian ibadah yang dilakukan umat beragama (Islam) seperti shalat, zakat, puasa, haji, dan sejenisnya hanya berhenti pada sebatas menjalankan kewajiban (fiqh oriented) dan menjadi simbol kesalehan, sedangkan buah ibadah yang berdimensi sosial kurang nampak. Di kalangan masyarakat beragama, telah terjadi kesalahpahaman dalam memaknai dan menghayati serta mengapresiasi pesan simbolik itu. Akibatnya, agama hanya di pahami sebagai penyelamat individu dan bukan sebagai keberkahan sosial.</p><p> </p>

In the article the authors note that since the 1970s, with the rise of the Islamic movement and the Islamic revolution in Iran, philosophers and political scientists started to talk about religious renaissance in many regions of the world. In addition, the point at issue is the growing role of religion in society, including European countries that have long ago gone through the process of secularization. The reasons for this phenomenon, regardless of its name, are diverse, but understandable: secular ideologies of the last century failed to explain the existing social problems and give them a rational alternative.

This study examined the role of religion in xenophobic responses to the threat of Ebola. Religious communities often offer members strong social ties and social support, which may help members cope with psychological and physical threat, including global threats like Ebola. Our analysis of a nationally representative sample in the U.S. (N = 1,000) found that overall, the more vulnerable to Ebola people felt, the more they exhibited xenophobic responses, but this relationship was moderated by importance of religion. Those who perceived religion as more important in their lives exhibited weaker xenophobic reactions than those who perceived religion as less important. Furthermore, social connectedness measured by collectivism explained the moderating role of religion, suggesting that higher collectivism associated with religion served as a psychological buffer. Religious people showed attenuated threat responses because they had a stronger social system that may offer resources for its members to cope with psychological and physical threats. The current research highlights that different cultural groups react to increased threats in divergent ways.

Mercury degassing is a global process. In geological development, it begins with the formation of deep fractures that can penetrate the great depths of the mantle. As the linearity lengthens, the temporal degassing and intensity of mercury weaken this connection with the depths of its individual parts and the Earth, or the period of strengthening of this connection will vary depending on the development of the characteristics observed. The concentration of mercury and antimony-mercury ores along the outer frame of circular and oval and other structures can most likely be explained by the Earth's total mercury degassing. In our opinion, the ideal situation is the junction of circular, oval, and other structures with linear nodes, where industrially important deposits of minerals can be formed. This article is devoted to the role of religion in modern society. The author reveals the main directions of religion in society, the problems associated with understanding religious dogmas and solving these problems. Special attention is paid to the problem of activization of ultra-radical groups based on religious grounds, the perception of the world community of religion and the problem of correct understanding of religion on the example of Islam. Based on the analysis, the main causes of the emergence of problems related to religion and its perception were identified. Using sources whose authors directly deal with the problems of religion throughout their life, the author gives some recommendations for eradicating the problems that arise from a misunderstanding of religious values.

Religion appears to shape the daily lives of most children in America; the influence of religion often serves as a template for making decisions, establishing relationships, comprehending the world, and finding meaning in confusing and/or traumatic situations that children may encounter. To ignore the role of religion and spirituality in behavioral and mental health treatment is to dismiss a central domain of child and adolescent development as well as a potential path to healing. In this chapter, we discuss the role of spirituality and religion in children in rural communities and how they can be integrated into counseling and therapy as a path to healing.

The role of higher education is crucial in a world that seems torn apart by cultural, economic, political and social differences, and yet is, at the same time, ever more closely drawn together by technology, travel, social and economic needs. Higher education offers no panacea for the disunity of this complex and confusing world. It should, however, contribute to a kind of understanding that spans the differences among the people of the world, or at least those within one country. In this connection liberal arts education is today in jeopardy, unsure of its competence to serve the ideal of humanitas that at one time was conceded to be both the stable ground and the ever elusive goal of higher education.
