Pour restaurer et améliorer la fertilité des sols en culture de coton, l’arachide (Arachis hypogaea L) a été utilisée comme précédent cultural. L’expérimentation a été faite suivant un dispositif en blocs de Fisher avec quatre (4) répétitions et cinq (5) traitements, sur deux années (2018 et 2019). Les résultats ont montré que l’arrière effet de l’arachide (la biomasse et l’azote résiduel issue de la symbiose entre la légumineuse et les bactéries) a amélioré la croissance et le développement végétatif des plants de cotonnier. L’impact de cet apport organique s’est traduit par des plants de cotonniers statistiquement plus grand, (hauteur supérieur à 100 cm) pour le traitement T5 (précédent arachide + dose complet d’engrais). Le traitement T4 (précédent arachide + ½ dose d’engrais) quant à lui a généré un nombre moyen de capsules supérieur à 8 à la seconde campagne. Il ressort également que le précédent arachide associé à la dose complète et à la demi dose de fumure minérale améliore mieux le rendement du coton-graine. Des gains de 3 à 14 % à la 1ère campagne et 19 à 58 % à la deuxième campagne ont été enregistrés. Ainsi, la rotation arachide/coton est une bonne pratique, à encourager. To restore and improve soil fertility in cotton cultivation, peanut (Arachis hypogaea L) was used as a previous crop. The experimentation was done in a Fisher block design with four (4) replications and five (5) treatments, over two years (2018 and 2019). The results showed that the after-effect of the peanut (biomass and residual nitrogen from the symbiosis between the legume and the bacteria) improved the growth and vegetative development of the cotton plants. The impact of this organic fertilizer resulted in statistically larger cotton plants (height greater than 100 cm) for treatment T5 (previous groundnut + full dose of fertilizer). Treatment T4 (previous groundnut + ½ dose of fertilizer) generated an average number of bolls greater than 8 in the second season. It also appears that the groundnut precedent associated with different doses of mineral fertilizer improves seed cotton yields. Gains of 3 to 14% in the first season and 19 to 58% in the second season were recorded. Thus, the groundnut/cotton rotation is a good practice that should be encouraged.

[THE IMPACT OF PALM OIL SLUDGE RESIDUES AND DOLOMITE RESIDUES ON GROWTH AND YIELD OF PEANUT (Arachis hypogaea L.) IN ULTISOL].  This study aims to determine the best interaction between palm oil sludge (POS) residues and dolomite residues, determine the best POS residue, and determine the best dolomite residue in the growth and yield of peanut plants. This research was conducted from March 2018 to June 2018, the design used was a Complete Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with two factors. The first factor is POS residue with 3 levels, 0, 10, and 20 tons/ha. The second factor is dolomite residue with 4 levels, namely 0, 2, 4, and 6 tons/ha. The results showed that the best treatment combination was obtained from oil POS residue of 10 tons/ha and dolomite residue of 2 tons/ha which produced the highest total root nodule weights of 0.2417 g. POS residue of 20 tons/ha gives the highest yield on the growth component, which is an average plant height of 16.72 cm. POS residue of 10 tons/ha gave the highest yield on the growth component, namely dry stover weight of an average of 9.57 g, as well as the yield component of 45.20 total pods, 32.84 pods, total pod weight 43.47 g, and the weight of pith pods weighing 36.60 g. The highest total dry pod weight was 2.71 tons/ha. Dolomite residue gave a higher yield on all growth variables and observed results, with the highest total dry pod weight being 2.68 tons/ha.

Background: Groundnut is one of the most important oilseed crops of India. Improving productivity of groundnut to meet the domestic vegetable oil demand through balanced fertilization is the prime challenge lying before the agronomists in the country. With the aim of evaluating phosphogypsum as a source of sulphur nutrition in groundnut, a field experiment entitled “Response of groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.) to different levels and time of phosphogypsum nutrition” was conducted at Agronomy field unit, University of Agricultural Sciences Bangalore, during kharif-2019. Methods: Experiment was laid out in randomised complete block design (RCBD) with eleven treatments, of which eight have different combinations of phosphogypsum applied as basal and in split (30 DAS) and one with gypsum as basal alone. Whereas, the remaining two treatments, without any additional source of sulphur are included for comparison. Result: Among eleven treatments, application of phosphogypsum @ 125 kg S eq ha-1 in split recorded highest yield attributes, pod yield (2063 kg ha-1), kernel yield (1418 kg ha-1) and sulphur uptake (11.33 kg ha-1). Which were on par with 100 kg S eq ha-1 in split (2014, 1380 and 10.39 kg ha-1, respectively). All other treatments recorded lower values with lowest in treatments without any additional sulphur source.

Drought affects the rainfed groundnut (Arachis hypogaea L.)  at different phases of development and it is the serious threats on groundnut productivity causing losses than any other abiotic factor under rainfed agriculture. In the world's semiarid regions, groundnut accounts for 90% of worldwide production. Drought mainly affects the pace and pattern of nutrient and water intake from the soil, affecting the architecture of the groundnut root system. Plant selections with desirable root trait have been a major focus in developing drought resistant Groundnut cultivars. In 2019, 60 groundnut genotypes were cultivated in root block design with two different soil water treatments, as well as in the field during the year under same circumstances. The purpose of this study was to see how different groundnut cultivars fared in terms of yield, yield contributing features, root characters, and their relationships with drought tolerance. Drought resistant genotypes had thicker roots, larger roots, and a deeper root system than susceptible genotypes. Recent series in groundnut genotypes of 60 numbers were sown during kharif 2019 (july-september) under rainfed condition (It includes life irrigation and rainfall received during cropping season). Groundnut genotypes were semi spreading with the duration of 110-120 days. Observation on root morphological character viz., roots length, root volume after 20 days of stress imposition of the crop and yield parameters were observed at the harvest. Among the 60 genotypes, 20 genotypes (VG 17008, VG 17046, VG 18005, VG 18102, VG 18077, VG 19572, VG 19709, VG 18111, VG19561, VG19576, VG 19620, VG 19681, VG 19688 etc.,) similarly, yield character were observed for 60 genotypes and all the genotypes given above recorded higher value in Total number of pods per plant, Number of double seeded pods per plant, Pod yield per plant, Harvest index and Total dry matter production. The methods used in this study identified correlation between yield character and root characters. Groundnut genotypes by assessing yield metrics and their relationship with root trait. These findings lay the groundwork for future study aimed at deciphering the molecular pathways underpinning Groundnut drought resistance.

In order to understand the effect of organic fertilizer on yield of anise, an experiment was conducted in the form of split-plot in randomized complete block design with three replications in Mashhad, Khorasan Agriculture and Natural Resource Research Center. Four treatments of fertilization: the control, vermicompost - 5 t/ha, cow manure - 25 t/ha, and mineral fertilizer (NPK) - 60 kg/ha (the same rate of each nutrient) were applied as the main factor. The second factor was plant density, applied at three levels: 17, 25, and 50 plants/m2. The results showed a significant effect of fertilizer on the number of umbels per plant, number of umbellets per umbel and canopy cover. Plant density had a significant effect on grain yield, biological yield, the number of lateral branches, essential oil percentage and yield of essential oil. Seed and essential oil yield were the highest in the case of the application of vermicompost and plant densities of 50 and 25 plants/m2 respectively.

The research was conducted in Padasari Village, Cimalaka Sub-district, Sumedang District, from June to September 2018, located at an altitude of 600 m asl. The objective of experiment was to study the effect of dosage of lamtoro leaf organic fertilizer to growth and yield of Pakcoy (Brassica rapa L.) plant varieties Nauli-F1. The research was conducted by experimental approach through field experiment. The design used in the experiment was a simple randomized block design consisting of six treatments and four replications. The dose of liquid organic fertilizer treatment Lamtaro leaves consist of: A : 0 L Ha-1, B: 100 L Ha-1, C: 200 L Ha-1, D: 300 L Ha-1, E: 400 L Ha-1, and F: 500 L Ha-1. The result of experiment showed that the use of lamtoro liquid organic fertilizer gave a good effect on all observation variables. The dose of Lamtoro leaf organic fertilizer 500 L Ha-1 showed the best result an plant height, number of leaves, net weight per plant, net weight per plot, and the shoot root ratio.

Production of agricultural wastes is increasing while soils are progressively losing organic matter due to intensive cultivation and climatic conditions. This makes the recycling of organic wastes a useful alternative to incineration, landfill or rubbish dumps. The effects of two agro- wastes and mineral fertilizer on growth and yield of leaf amaranth were assessed in a pot experiment at the Teaching and Research Farm, Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti. Treatments consisted of poultry manure (PM) and palm oil mill effluent (POME) each applied at 8 and 16MT/ha while NPK 15-15-15 was applied at 150, 200kgha-1 and no fertilizer as control. Seeds of amaranthus caudatus variety were sown in plastic pot (50x20x40cm) containing 20kg top soil. Treatments were arranged in a randomized complete block design replicated three times. Data were taken on plant height, stem girth, number of leaves plant-1, leaf area, root length, fresh weight, dry weight, edible yield and above ground plant weight at 6 weeks after planting. The results revealed that the agrowastes significantly (p<0.05) resulted in better performance of leaf amaranth. Application of 16MT/ha PM gave the highest fresh and edible weight of 211.23 and 98.80g respectively. POME also performed better than NPK fertilizer in some of the parameters measured. This indicated that PM and POME could serves as an alternative sources of nutrient to mineral fertilizer for leaf amaranth and also a sustainable fertility management strategy for crop production. This study aims to determine the effect of Gandasil D fertilizer on growth and the production of peanut (Arachis hypogaea L.). The research was carried out in Kuprik, District Semangga, start from July until October 2012. The experimental design used was randomized block design with 4 (four) treatment and three replication. The treatment was Gandasil D fertilizer: 1,0 g/l, 1,5 g/l, 2,0 g/l and without Gandasil D fertilizer (control). The results showed that the treatment of Gandasil D fertilizer not showing significant effect on the growth and the production of peanut. But the treatment of D2 (Gandasil D) with dosis 1,5 g/l can increase the production a peanut higher than another treatment, the result is 1,40 kg/plot or 2,91 ton/ha.

Jurnal Lahan Suboptimal: Journal of Suboptimal Lands 9(1): 41-49.The purpose of this study was to evaluate the application effects of three different compound fertilizers on yield, and assess the income increase at different rates of compound fertilizers. Three compound fertilizers namely NPK 14-0-46, NPK 19-9-19 and NPK 11-11-11 was conducted at three different farmers’ field in Langkat District, North Sumatra Province under upland conditions. In each farmers’ field, a Randomized Complete Block Design was applied with four replications per treatment.  Seven treatments tested consisted of full rate of farmer fertilizer practice and six rates of each compound fertilizer plus half rate of farmer fertilizer practice. In each of compound fertilizer tested, pod yield and seed yield increased quadratically as increasing compound fertilizer rates. The highest pod yield and seed yield of peanut were 1649 kg/ha and 1072 kg/ha, respectively with half rate of FFP + 200 kg of NPK 14-0-46. For compound fertilizer NPK 19-9-19 the highest pod yield and seed yield were 1632 kg/ha and 1032 kg/ha with half rate of FFP + 500 kg of NPK 19-9-19 while for compound fertilizer NPK 11-11-11 the highest pod yield seed yield were 1421 kg/ha and 930 kg/ha with half rate of FFP + 250 kg of NPK 11-11-11. However, adding each  half rate of farmer fertilizer practices with  200 kg of NPK 14-0-46 or 300 kg of NPK 19-9-19 or 250 kg of NPK 11-11-11 with HypoMa-1 cultivar gave the highest values of the benefit for the farmers under upland soil in Langkat, North Sumatra.
