Objective: To evaluate the effect on the satisfaction of nursing students and the participants of Service-Learning methodology in the development of Health Education workshops. Method: Service-Learning project was designed in four stages: 1) students training in knowledge about Community Nursing and Health Education; 2) development of healthy workshops for its implementation in associations; 3) implementation of the workshops; 4) reflection on Service-Learning impact. An ad hoc questionnaire was developed to assess students’ satisfaction. It was also evaluated the workshops’ participant’s satisfaction.  Results: students reported having a very high level of satisfaction by increasing their scores after improving Service-Learning methodology in the subject. In addition, participants who received health promotion workshops developed by nursing students reported a positive impact on their health. Conclusion: development of Service-Learning methodology associated with health education implies high level of satisfaction in nursing students and a social impact for the community.

<p>The purpose of this clinical study was to determine the level of patients satisfaction after prosthodontic treatment.</p><p>This cross sectional study was conducted in Altamash Institute of Dental Medicine, a total of 200 partially edentulous patients already restored with removable or fixed prosthesis participated in this study. Patient satisfaction was evaluated by Likert's scale. The Patients were given options of unsatisfied, not very satisfied, neutral, somewhat satisfied and satisfied to evaluate patients level of satisfaction for factors such as phonetics, pain, mastication, taste and esthetics.</p><p>After statistical analysis, Likert scale score's positively for all factors such as phonetics, pain, mastication, taste and esthetics.</p><p>After prosthodontic treatment patients show high level of satisfaction with their prosthesis though showing positive impact of prosthesis on oral health.</p>

This work presents a proposal for the teaching-learning of the concept map technique applied to the Natural Sciences course in the second year of Compulsory Secondary Education (ESO, according to its initials in Spanish). Two sessions have been designed, one of which is an instructor-led session to learn the technique and another is a session in which the students independently create a concept map, applying what they have learned in the previous session. To determine the effectiveness of the proposal, the concept maps created by the students during the two sessions have been evaluated, the grades obtained on the assessment tests for the unit before the concept map experience have been compared to those obtained on the assessment tests for the unit carried out using this technique, and a survey was written to find out the level of student satisfaction with the training received and the usefulness of the concept map technique. The results show that more than 65% of students earned grades between 7 and 9.5 on the concept maps created independently during the two academic years in which the proposal has been implemented. The study carried out allows us to conclude that the students have learned how to create concept maps, and evidences the usefulness of the methodology used and the need to implement more sessions for the creation of concept maps in the Natural Sciences course so that this technique is transformed into a learning strategy. The students have expressed a high level of satisfaction with the training received and the tool they have learned how to use.

Background: There is evidence linking Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender (LGBT+) health education with improvement in nursing students’ knowledge, attitudes, and comfort of LGBT+ health considerations.Methods: In a pre- and post-test study design, a total of 77 master’s entry to nursing practice (MENP) students completed the LGBT+ health educational module during the Community Health Nursing course.Results: Statistically significant results were found between pre-test to post-test data for knowledge (p < .001, Cohen’s d 2.52), attitudes (p < .001, Cohen’s d 0.35), and comfort (p = .001, Cohen’s d 0.31) of LGBT+ health considerations.Conclusions: The LGBT+ health education module improved MENP students’ attitudes and comfort with LGBT+ clients and markedly increased their knowledge of LGBT+ health considerations. Findings suggest LGBT+ health education can be implemented by nursing faculty in master’s entry to nursing practice programs with a positive impact on student knowledge, attitudes, and comfort.

Indonesia has a very high level of disaster vulnerability. Earthquake disasters can occur at any time without being predicted. It is important to implement disaster management simulations in nursing learning to improve the knowledge and skills of nursing students. This paper purpose to find out whether disaster simulation can improve the knowledge and skills of nursing students. This literature uses inclusion and exclusion criteria, articles obtained and reviewed from databases namely Google Scholar (2008 - 2018) and PubMed (2008 - 2018). The search strategy and terminology used in English is as follows: simulation OR disaster or earthquake OR knowledge OR nursing student.  Ten articles were obtained from search results. Eight articles mention earthquake disaster simulations significantly increasing student knowledge and skills. While the two articles stated that disaster management simulation does not increase knowledge but increases attitudes or familiarity in the team and satisfaction. Disaster simulation is one of the methods and strategies in a learning system that has a positive impact, especially in the field of nursing education, especially in response to earthquake management?

The aim of this research was to determine resilience and burnout levels among nursing students, and to analyze the relationship between these two variables and the sociodemographic profile of the sample. This sample was composed of 218 second grade nursing students belonging to the University of Murcia. Three instruments were used: an ad hoc questionnaire which included sociodemographic and relationship with peers and teachers questions, a Spanish adaptation of the Maslach Burnout Inventory (MBI-GS) and the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). The results showed a high level of emotional exhaustion in 28% of the sample, and a high level of cynicism in 19.7%. In addition, the data support the relationship between resilience and burnout in the sample of students analyzed (r Resilience-emotional fatigue = -0.25, r-Realization Personal Resilience / efficiency = 0.52). In conclusion of the study, we emphasize that students who showed a higher level of resilience experienced less emotional exhaustion and greater personal accomplishment. Similarly, the quality of relationship with teachers was associated with a higher presence of burnout syndrome.

A Student led Conference, planned and organized by nursing students enrolled in two elective modules (Interdisciplinary Care of Older Adults and Old Age and Dependency) across two academic years (2018-19 and 2019-20). Students participate actively in the conference, with oral communications (as part of their course assignment), or moderating a rounded table. The results shown a significative increase of the level of leadership in the students that led the conference, and a high level of satisfaction in the participants in the conference. This innovative teaching method, may be of intereset and applied in different ambits, as it is necessary to implement methodologies that help to develop competences as leadership and communication.

Introduction Partnerships between schools of nursing and grade schools providing health education to youth are shown to be advantageous. Using Community Based Service Learning for nursing students at a middle school in Chicago, IL, we were able to improve health education for adolescents in an underserved area. Objective This project aimed to improve and standardize existing health education efforts for sixth graders (n = 30) at a middle school by developing an evidence-based health education curriculum with nursing students. Methods This was a descriptive study with a pretest and posttest evaluation addressing the physical, emotional, and sexual health knowledge, attitudes and behaviors of participating sixth graders. Results Findings suggest service-learning partnerships may benefit middle schoolers and nursing students. Conclusion Implementing a culturally relevant health curriculum using a service-learning framework increased sexual, physical, and emotional health knowledge in Latinx sixth graders and enhanced nursing student learning in a way not possible through classroom and clinical practicum experiences alone.

The European Higher Education Area (EHEA) recommends the use of new educational methodologies and the evaluation of student satisfaction. Different instruments have been developed in Spain to evaluate different aspects such as clinical decisions and teamwork, however no instruments have been found that specifically evaluate student self-confidence and satisfaction during clinical simulation. The aim was to translate the Student Satisfaction and Self-Confidence in Learning Scale (SCLS) questionnaire into Spanish and analyse its reliability and validity and understand the level of satisfaction and self-confidence of nursing students with respect to learning in clinical simulations. The study was carried out in two phases: (1) adaptation of the questionnaire into Spanish. (2) Cross-sectional study in a sample of 489 nursing students. The reliability and exploratory and confirmatory factorial analyses were performed. To analyse the relationship of the scale scores with the socio-demographic variables, the Fisher Student T-test or the ANOVA was used. The scale demonstrated high internal consistency reliability for the total scale and each of its dimensions. Cronbach’s alpha was 0.88 (0.83 to 0.81) for each of the dimensions. The exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis showed that both the one-dimensional and two-dimensional models were acceptable. The results showed average scores above 4 for both dimensions. The SCLS-Spanish translation demonstrated evidence of its validity and reliability for use to understand the level of satisfaction and self-confidence of nursing students in clinical simulation. Clinical simulations help students to increase their levels of confidence and satisfaction, enabling them to face real scenarios in clinical practice.

Student satisfaction with podcasts is frequently used as an indicator of the effectiveness of educational podcasting. This aspect has usually been assessed through surveys or interviews in descriptive studies, but no standard questionnaire exists that can be used to compare results. The main aim of this study was to present the Student Satisfaction with Educational Podcasts Questionnaire (SSEPQ). The SSEPQ consists of 10 items that are scored on a Likert-type scale. The items address the opinions of students on content adequacy, ease of use, usefulness, and the benefits of podcasts for learning. 3-5 minute podcasts were assessed as a supplementary tool within the research methods and statistics course of their psychology undergraduate degree. Confirmatory factor analysis with cross-validation showed a one-factor structure, supporting the use of the total score as a global index of student satisfaction with podcasts. The results suggest that there is a high level of satisfaction with podcasts as a tool to improve learning. The questionnaire is a brief and simple tool that can provide lecturers with direct feedback from their students, and may prove useful in improving the teaching-learning process.
