The main function of the scientific library is to provide information support and library services to meet the needs of research scientists engaged in research activities and it is becoming increasingly important to enhance the outreach services, build public awareness of science reducing the evidence-practice gap. With that in mind, library websites are among the most appropriate platforms, that hold potential in addressing these concerns, providing online access to a wide range of library and information science sources, visualization of the results both of scientific research carried out by scientific institutions and the librarydevelopments. In this paper we focus on the website of Central scientific library (CSL), department of Library for Natural Sciences of the Russian Academy of Sciences (LNS RAS), in Pushchino Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences (PRS RAS). This website has been designed as the multifunctional information system offering the users, on one hand, the means for searching the requested information in electron catalogs of the library and all its departments, dissertation database, branched index system in physico-chemical biology, publications of the research scientists from the Center, databases by subject relating to research activities performed in PSC RAS), and, on the other hand, the results of a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of published research of the scientific institutes in the Center (https://cnbp.ru/). The scientific community of PSC RAS has appreciated posted on the library website research projects such as “Achievements of Schools of Science in Pushchino Scientific Center”, “Scientific dynasties in Pushchino”, a database of the former research scientists who worked in PSC continuing their research activities abroad”. Of special interest is the website section created after the study of the information needs of the PCL users which present the results of a bibliometric analysis. Mature researchers may find information on number of times their individual articles have been cited by others, track the impact of their scientific theme, communicate with potential research partners; postgraduate and graduate students may gain insight into a variety of research activity carried out in the scientific Center, enabling them to see the magnitude of the Center’s scientific developments; the administration of institutes may assess the published research of their employees, compare the position in the institutes ranking with respect to other ones in the scientific world, evaluate international activity.

This article discusses the problem of studying the museum collection of Buddhist fine art in Kalmykia, as well as preserving the artistic heritage in the context of globalization of cultures. The author aims to create scientifically based information resources that include research on museum collections and exhibits. Information is the essence of museum business, which is based on research activities that combine the fields of acquisition, accounting and storage of funds, on the one hand, and on the other hand, communicative activities related to exposition and exhibition activities. The initial work of the museum is not only the preserved fund, but also information about the exhibits collected in the process of acquiring the fund and creating a museum collection catalog consisting of collections. The Zaya-Pandita Museum of Traditional Culture of the Kalmyk Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences stores and presents in the educational sphere multidisciplinary and largely unique information about the cultural heritage of the people. Based on a rich tradition of describing and cataloging objects of art, as well as using modern technologies and art criticism methods, it has become possible to prepare and publish a scientific catalog of the collections of the main fund of the Zaya-Pandita Museum of Traditional Culture.

This article proposes the publication of an essay written by the famous scholar of Ossetian studies Evgenia Georgievna Pchelina (1895–1972); this work has remained unpublished until today. The manuscript is not fully completed and is kept in the archive fund of E.G. Pchelina in the St. Petersburg Branch of the Archive of the Russian Academy of Sciences (fond No. 1017). The manuscript consists of 11 sheets, its scientific apparatus is compiled on separate cards. The study of archival material made it possible to form a relatively complete text of the essay and partially restore the scientific apparatus to it. The text is devoted to the issue of slavery and captivity in the traditional Ossetian society and was written for a doctoral dissertation, which Pchelina had been preparing for a number of years, but the defense of which has never taken place. It was possible to restore the range of scientific works and the source base used by Pchelina for this essay. The article suggests the dating of this work – no later than 1953. In the essay by Pchelina under consideration, the issues of Ossetian terminology on the studied problem is presented, the categories of slaves, the attitude in society to different categories of slaves, methods of captivity and delivery to the homes of prisoners, slave markets on the territory of Ossetia and neighboring lands, the cost of slaves, etc. are described. This work of Pchelina contains all the features that are characteristic of her scientific creativity: excellent knowledge of scientific works and the use of a wide range of sources, with mandatory reference to folklore material and data received from informants.

The article presents the author’s reflection on the topic of scientific communication and forms of presentation of scientific results in the form of journal publications. As a starting point for reflection served the meeting that took place on March 28, 2019 held by the editor-in-chief of the Russian Journal of Philosophical Sciences Khachatur Marinosyan with new researchers. The event was mainly devoted to the structure of the representation of modern knowledge, a crucial role in which is continued to be played by a scientific journal that should be considered as a special phenomenon of intellectual culture. The operation of a journal is considered from the communicative perspective. In addition to the main topics of scientific communication, during the meeting some relevant to the institutional functioning of knowledge topics were also discussed: ageism, interdisciplinarity, transmedia, formalization of knowledge, international unification and formal indexation of journals. The meeting, which format was unusual for contemporary Russian science, aroused the interest of the professional community. The relevance and just-in-time character of the “dialogical” approach to the functioning of science was evidenced by the participants. The Social Philosophy Department of the Institute of Philosophy of Russian Academy of Sciences hosted the meeting, which was attended by the beginning scientists from Lomonosov Moscow State University, National Research University Higher School of Economics, Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences and independent researchers who do not have an institutional position in academic institutions but are engaged in research activities. The most important conclusion of the meeting is that there are the possibility and necessity of thematic updating of humanitarian and, in particular, philosophical knowledge by the work of beginning but promising authors, and editorial boards should be ready to that if they want to maintain journal’s leading status and keep up with the times.

The Russian Oriental studies are rich and diverse in their disciplines. The focus of research activities conducted mainly at the university centres of St. Petersburg, Moscow, Kazan, and during Soviet times in the capitals of some republics (Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, etc.), was largely determined by the domestic political and geopolitical interests of the Russian Empire. Thus, a philosophical aspect in oriental studies, as well as university philosophical education practical^ did not exist. The changes brought by the revolution of 1917 have greatly affected all fields of social life, including the academic milieu. The article examines a complex and contradictory path of development of the national philosophy, on the example of the Institute founded in 1921 by Gustav Gustavovich Speth (1879-1937), nowadays the Institute of Philosophy of the Russian Academy of Sciences. The latter has become the main focal point of the philosophical research activities in the former Soviet Union. Particular attention is paid to the liberation from the Eurocentrism inherited from imperial times concerning the spiritual heritage of the peoples of the East as a whole, and in philosophy in particular. The pivotal points of its activity became “History of Philosophy” in 3 Volumes (19411943) and “History of Philosophy” in 6 Volumes (1957-1966). The real breakthrough was the encyclopedias, such as: “The New Philosophical Encyclopedia” in 4 volumes (2001); “Indian philosophy. Encyclopedia” (2009); “The Philosophy of Buddhism: Encyclopedia” (2011). The Orientalist aspect in higher philosophical education nowadays becomes more visible. The recent international recognition of the achievements of the Russian Orientalist philosophical studies regardless of a relatively small number of specialists is largely due to their collective efforts and close cooperation.

Relevance. Potato hybrids obtained when creating varieties adapted to the weather conditions of the Komi Republic must have maximum resistance to constantly changing environmental conditions while maintaining the yield indicator at a high level. In addition, breeders impose requirements for their high field resistance to the main diseases common in the region: late blight, alternaria, rhizoctonia, scab and viruses (X, Y). In 2020, in the course of a continuously operating selection process, produced on the basis of the Institute of Agrobiotechnology FRC Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (Syktyvkar) together with the FRC potato named after A.G. Lorkh (Korenevo), samples were taken from the nursery of the main test of hybrids.Methods. The studies were carried out on five hybrids sent from the FRC of Potato named after A.G. Lorkh obtained by hybridization of the original parental forms, growing hybrid seedlings and single-root hybrids, followed by selection in nurseries of single-root hybrids, second-year hybrids, preliminary and main tests already directly at the Institute of Agrobiotechnology FRC of the Komi Scientific Center of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Observations, counts and culling in each nursery were carried out in accordance with the methodological recommendations on the technology of the potato breeding process. According to the research results, the hybrids were assessed in terms of yield, yield range (the difference between the maximum and minimum values for the study period), realization of yield potential (the ratio of the average yield to the maximum over the years of research) and coefficient of variation, as well as disease resistance.Results. As a result of a comprehensive assessment of potato samples in the nursery of the main test, three promising hybrids were identified — 1992–14, 2000–60 and 2139– 5 with an average yield at the level of standard varieties and higher (23.6–31.2t/ha), having a high stability and disease resistance.
