Based on data and previous studies on the condition of the city of Medan. As a large city and the high accident rate. The purpose of this study is to study the effect of speed as a factor in the causes of traffic accidents. Which is related to the behavior of drivers in terrain cities, especially on national road sections with a specification's minimum 4/2 D. The location studied in six road sections that are considered to represent 14 road segments in accordance with the scope of the study area, namely the road (1) Jalan Industri, (2) Jalan Gagak Hitam, (3) Jalan Ngumban Surbakti, (4) Jalan Sisingamangaraja, (5) Jalan. Yos Sudarso, (6) Jalan A.H. Nasution. The analysis uses a t-test for a comparative test. Behavioral studies use a mixed design approach that is carried out in parallel, through FGD and on-line surveys (N = 200) using a scale that measures attitudes, beliefs, subjective norms of people around the driver, perceptions of the risk of speeding behavior and demographic questions. The results of the study show that there is an influence of the average speed of roads at the accident rate of national roads. The attitudes and beliefs of research participants tended to be opposed to 'speeding' behavior. Subjective norms of people around the driver as well as showed negative attitudes. Research participants also display high-impact perceptions of the likelihood of accidents caused by their 'speeding' behavior. Based on the regression analysis, it can be concluded that there is a meaningful relationship between participants' attitudes towards' speeding 'and subjective norms (attitudes and beliefs of the surrounding environment towards' speeding'. Yos sudarso, dan (6) Jalan A.H. Nasution.

Introduction. Undesirable consequences of fast increase of the vehicle fleet are an increase in the level of accident rate and the number of deaths and injuries in traffic accidents (hereinafter accidents). The positive experience of other countries shows that objectives indicators for reducing the number of traffic accident victims by implementing reasonable measures to eliminate the dominant causes of accidents is the most effective way to achieve the desired result in improving traffic safety. Problem statement. Considering the enormous economic lost caused by traffic accidents, improving of traffic safety has been a priority in the policies of many countries around the world in recent decades. In this regard, the international community pays considerable attention to the development of targeted programs and implementation of traffic safety measures directed at preventing the road traffic injuries. In particular, on March 2, 2010, the UN General Assembly adopted Resolution No. 64/255 «Improving Traffic Safety Worldwide», which proclaimed the 2011–2020 «Decade of Traffic Safety Actions» to reduce deaths from injuries sustained as a result of traffic accident — by 50%. Ukraine, through which seven international transport corridors run [1], did not stay away from solving the common problem and joined in 2011 to the UN initiative regarding reducing the death rate due to traffic accidents by at least 30 % [2]. For evaluation of the achieved result, it is important to analyze the accident statistics and determine whether the planned results were achieved through the implementation of planned measures to improve traffic safety. Purpose. The article considers the dynamics of accident rate and the number of traffic accidents victims in Ukraine for the period 2011–2020, as well as analyzes the main causes of traffic accidents on the public roads, including roads of state importance, to evaluate the outcome of the Decade of Traffic Safety Actions and providing the recommendations for further decreasing of mortality on domestic roads. Materials and methods. The study used the method of statistical processing of data on the number of accidents and their victims in Ukraine and the method of systematic analysis of risk factors that contributed to the accidents. Results. It is determined that the total number of fatalities in traffic accidents for the period 2011–2020 decreased in Ukraine by 27.8 %, and on the public roads — by 44.0 %. However, considering that since 2014 there are no data on traffic accidents in Autonomous Republic of Crimea and partly in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the indicator of decreasing of deaths per 100 traffic accidents and the result shows more modest achievements: in Ukraine it was possible to reduce deaths by 100 traffic accidents per 100 14 %, and on the public roads — only 5.4 %. Conclusions. Accident rate analysis provides an information basis for understanding the scale of the problem of traffic injuries, evaluating the results of implemented measures to improve traffic safety, the dynamics of positive or negative developments, and allows to plan reasonably the measures to improve road conditions to reduce mortality on roads.

An early warning on the highway will effectively reduce traffic accidents. Considering the influence of an abandoned object on driving behavior, a Visual-based Asymmetric Two-lane Cellular Automata model with Abandoned Object (V-ATCA-AO) and an Internet-of-Vehicles-based Asymmetric Two-lane Cellular Automata model with Abandoned Object (IoV-ATCA-AO) are proposed. Based on the two models, two types of traffic accidents caused by an abandoned object are analyzed: rear-end collision caused by the abandoned object ahead and collision of the vehicle with the abandoned object. Simulation results show the following: (1) the accidents occur when the road density is smaller, while the accidents will not occur when the density is larger. The results are different from the rear-end collision rate curve without abandoned object in a single lane. (2) Compared with the visual-based avoidance pattern in V-ATCA-AO, the Internet-of-Vehicles-based avoidance pattern in IoV-ATCA-AO can create an early warning for the abandoned object and tell the vehicle to make an earlier lane change and decelerate in advance, thereby significantly reducing the accident rate. (3) Spatiotemporal characteristics in front of the abandoned object directly affect the accident rate: the less the “stability” of a traffic jam in front of the abandoned object, the higher the accident rate.

The city of Surabaya is one of the major cities in Indonesia and is the capital of East Java Province, with a total population of 2,765,487 based on the Surabaya City Statistics Center 2018. With increasing population, ownership of private vehicles and activities on the highway will also increase. more dense and certainly can cause traffic accidents. The purpose of this research was to find out the characteristics of road users and the effect of the level of accidents on the road Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno Surabaya. The factors reviewed from this study are the characteristics of road users based on Age, Profession, Driver Factors, Vehicle Factors and Road Infrastructure Factors. To find out whether Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno is a road with a Black Spot area, so the Accident Rate method is used for this study to determine the accident rate based on the Black Spot area. From the results of accident analysis based on the characteristics of the road user Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno, the highest factor as the main cause of traffic accidents is caused by Drivers with speeding conditions and vulnerable drivers aged 16-30 years. And based on the accident rate method get the highest yield of 12.74 accidents / km. Year and included in the black spot area with an accident rate >1.0. The number of traffic violations and traffic accident victims on the road Dr. Ir. H. Soekarno during 2018 there were 61 traffic accidents which resulted in 7 casualties died, 7 accident victims suffered serious injuries and 73 accident victims suffered minor injuries.

The number of traffic accidents on roads from Palangka Raya to Tangkiling has increased. This is proved that it has increased every year. The road is functioned as the linking road among districts and it is also utilized as the main artery road. Accidents that are occurred in some parts of that road decrease the performance of the road. The aim of this study is to analyze the accident-prone area and its causes so that we are able to identify the handings of that area. This study aims to identify the blackspot points and variables that affect the accident rate (AR) as well as provide handlings for the accident-prone area. The statistic test was multiple linear regression tests using SPSS program. Based on the result of the analysis, it was found that the highest accident rate (AR) on the range of STA 3+000 to 4+000 on Tjilik Riwut road in Palangka Raya. Changes in land use, type of accident, gender, and high speed of vehicle make the accident rate increase. Therefore it is necessary to pay attention to the use of land beside the road so that the Road Benefit Space is free of all kinds of buildings

Every year, tens of thousands of road traffic accidents occur on the territory of Russia, characterized by different accident rates. Some of the most common are road traffic accidents, in the place of which violations of the mandatory requirements for the operational state of highways and railway crossings have been recorded under the conditions of ensuring road safety. The condition of the asphalt concrete road surface affects the grip performance of the vehicle with the road. It is necessary to study the statistics of road traffic accidents in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation located in different road and climatic zones in order to determine the dependence and the degree of influence of the state of the road surface on the number of accidents occurring.

Traffic accident is an accident that occurs unexpectedly and unintentionally involving a vehicle which resulted in casualties and material damage. The problem of traffic accidents on the road Duduksampeyan Sta km 16 + 000 - Sta km 16 + 500 is the most significant. The purpose of this study was conducted to determine the level of traffic accidents that occurred in 2013-2018. This study uses a method that refers to the calculation of the number of accidents. The observations in the field of road safety facilities are still inadequate, lighting is in only one side of the road as much as ± 10 pieces, and the absence of traffic signs (speed limits, accident-prone areas, etc.). The volume of daily traffic averages on these roads as much as 3833 veh / hour. The results of the analysis carried accident rate by 158 the highest annual accident / km occurred in 2018. Meanwhile, based on the fatality index, it was 47.76%, the highest in 2013.

Road traffic accidents are a leading cause of premature deaths and globally pose a severe threat to human lives. In particular, pedestrians crossing the road present a major cause of vehicle–pedestrian accidents in South Korea, but we lack dense behavioral data to understand the risk they face. This paper proposes a new analytical system for potential pedestrian risk scenes based on video footage obtained by road security cameras already deployed at unsignalized crosswalks. The system can automatically extract the behavioral features of vehicles and pedestrians, affecting the likelihood of potentially dangerous situations after detecting them in individual objects. With these features, we can analyze the movement patterns of vehicles and pedestrians at individual sites, and understand where potential traffic risk scenes occur frequently. Experiments were conducted on four selected behavioral features: vehicle velocity, pedestrian position, vehicle–pedestrian distance, and vehicle–crosswalk distance. Then, to show how they can be useful for monitoring the traffic behaviors on the road, the features are visualized and interpreted to show how they may or may not contribute to potential pedestrian risks at these crosswalks: (i) by analyzing vehicle velocity changes near the crosswalk when there are no pedestrians present; and (ii) analyzing vehicle velocities by vehicle–pedestrian distances when pedestrians are on the crosswalk. The feasibility of the proposed system is validated by applying the system to multiple unsignalized crosswalks in Osan city, South Korea.
