Based on the material of the poetic text of the poem by Wallace Stevens “Lunar Paraphrase” we establish that the periphrasis has a nominative character, has the replacing function, replacing the word “moon”, has metaphorical in relation to the replaced word, a descriptive and allegorical character, a unique individual author's metaphoricity. We prove that the peripheral education formation is provided by the cognitive abilities of a person, among which are such as the choice of the object of observation, sensory perception, attention, proper mental operations. There is a process of profiling, as a result of which focuses the attention of a person on a certain conceptual feature, highlighting a specific area and forming a paremic education. The appearance of periphrasis closely linked to a reflection on our perception of reality in language, which is governed by the cognitive and linguistic mechanisms. Periphrasis “mother of pity and pathos”, “mother of pathos and compassion”, “mother of sorrow and compassion”, “mother of pity and sadness” reflect the principle of variability in the interpretation of the MOON by different statements, which, of course, reflect the text subjective perception by the translator. The phenomenon of periphrasis in the Russian language determines the semantic and formal structure of the descriptive structure. It is assumed that we can talk about the coexistence of individual author’s peripherals.

This article is aimed at presenting a methodology for the conceptual analysis of poetic texts based on their lexical structure using the theory of communicative stylistics. The lexical structure of the literary text is considered to be a means of aсquainting the reader with the values manifested therein. The study of values intertwined within written works is particularly significant for the development of an axiological approach to teaching the Russian language. This article proposes a method for a sequential analysis of the lexical structure of a poetic text, which can be used at Russian language lessons.

The paper discusses the process for validation of the Russian-language EQ-5D-5L version to assess quality of life. According to international and national guidelines, the primary goal of treating spondyloarthritis (SpA) is to preserve the quality of life (QOL) of a patient as long as possible, by achieving control of the main symptoms of the disease and inflammation, by preventing the development and progression of structural changes in the locomotor system, and by preserving/normalizing the patient's functional activity and social adaptation. QOL is the integral characteristic of the physical, psychological, social and emotional status of the patient, which is assessed on the basis of his subjective perception. At the moment, there are no generally accepted national tools for assessing QOL in Russia, so the problem of adaptation and validation of international questionnaires is very actual. Objective: to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Russian-language EQ-5D-5L version in patients with SpA.Subjects and methods. Examinations were made in 163 patients older than 18 years with axial or peripheral SpA, who met the Assessment of Spondyloarthritis International Society (ASAS) criteria. The disease activity was assessed using the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI) and the Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Score (ASDAS); their functional status was estimated by the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI), and spinal mobility was evaluated by the Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Metrology Index (BASMI). The ASAS Health Index (HI) was used to comprehensively analyze the impact of SpA on the patient's health. The EQ-5D-5L version was employed for the first time in Russia to assess the quality of life of patients. Its main psychometric properties, such as reproducibility, validity, sensitivity, were evaluated. Results and discussion. The median age of the patients was 39.50 [28.00; 48.00] years. Among them, there were 64.8% of men. The median value of EQ-5D (a 5L version) was 0.53 [0.29; 0.65]. There were statistically significant relationships between the EQ-5D-5L values and BASDAI, BASFI, ASDAS, BASMI, ASAS HI, and the SF-36 questionnaire for QOL assessment. The test-retest reliability study showed that the internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha) was 0.96. The median value of the EQ-5D-5L was 0.55 [0.37; 0.63] at the first visit and 0.60 [0.40; 0.69] at the second visit after prescribing therapy (p = 0.01).Conclusion. The validation has indicated that the EQ-5D-5L version is a reliable, change-sensitive, easy-to-use, and physician-patient-friendly tool to assess QOL.

The subject of this research is the adequacy of translation of Avar poetry into the Russian language on the example of the poem “If They Will Draw My Portrait” by the National Poet of Dagestan Fazu Gamzatovna Aliyeva. The object of this research is the lyrical works of Fazu Aliyeva and other Dagestan poets. Using the method of comparative analysis, the authors draw parallel between the Avar and Russian versions of F. Aliyeva’s poem, which has been translated by the Russian poet-translator Vladimir Turkin. The goal of this article lies in the comparative study of the lyrical poem by the Avar poet and its literary translation into the Russian language. The question of the literary translations of poetic texts from the native languages into the Russian language remains relevant at all times. The degree of accuracy and adequacy of the translation of modern or classic Dagestan poetic texts into the Russian language is yet to be fully researched. The novelty of this work consists in comprehensive analysis of the adequacy of translation of the lyrical texts of the Avar poet Fazu Aliyeva into the Russian language. The adequate professional translation into the Russian language is invaluable for the development of literature of the Caucasian peoples (and all national literatures of the peoples that are part of the Russian Federation). This helps them reach a wider readership. Juxtaposition of the original poetic text and its translation into the Russian language proves that Vladimir Turkin has achieved full adequacy of conveying the Avar text, despite the discrepancy in translating spatial details, which not in the slightest distorts the stylistic and emotional-expressive peculiarities inherent to the poem by the Dagestan poet Fazu Aliyeva.

Poems that include formulas of spelling rules, specially written to help teacher of Russian Language were popular during the last century: one could find numerous rhymed rules in various textbooks, in article on teaching methodology, in tutorials, and in children’s books. Such rhymed rules address spelling mistakes, speech and versification errors, and distorted linguistic information. The article focuses on the problem of children’s perception and memorization of rhymed speech and expediency of usage of rhyming as a mnemonic method. Language particularities of didactical poems in Russian language (typical speech and grammatical errors, mistakes in poetic text construction) are considered. Children’s humorous modifications of the didactical poems ultimately serve as proof of their failure to deliver the desired educational outcomes. Ways of proposing linguistic information and its possible distortion (connected with text organization) are analyzed and studied. An important component question of this study probes why the Russian language teachers are still so fond of these poems as in-class instructional material.

The modern analysis of journalist discourse is based on many extralinguistic factors: ethnocultural characteristics of the social environment, creating and sustaining discourse; conditions of political loyalty and the orientation of journalist discourse to the target audience, sources of discourse replenishment and conditions for its self-development in the general discourse-forming environment. These factors have a direct impact on specific ways of delivering information by the authors of the journalistic message to the individual recipient and the mass audience. The relevance of the research is determined, first of all, by the study of the features of the Russian language functioning on the Internet, which fits into the foremost problems of modern Russian studies. The novelty is associated with the analysis of specific ways of linguistic expression of the authors position in Runet journalism, which have not been specially studied so far. The purpose of the research is to consider the ways of expressing evaluation in the texts of the Runet blogs authors. The article shows that implicit ways of expressing the authors evaluation in the Runet texts have the same function as any other evaluative statements: to specifically influence the addressee. The studied material shows that the evaluativeness of the Runet blogosphere authors statements, closely interacting with expressiveness and emotionality, depends on their subjective perception of information and helps them express their point of view. The article highlights the implicit ways of expressing the authors position, which allow in an implicit but understandable form to convey the meaning of the statement to the recipient. The study used materials from Runet blogs, which most vividly and representatively show the features of the Russian-language network journalistic discourse. When working with speech material, analytical methods were used - descriptive (descriptive-analytical) and contrastive, which revealed the linguistic specifics of journalistic discourse, identified and interpreted intra-contextual and intertextual connections, established communication features. The research approaches of discourse analysis and stylistics were also used. The studied material and the results allow to conclude that implicit ways of expressing the authors position have the same goals as explicit value judgments: they emotionally affect the recipient and accurately convey the meaning of the statement. At the same time, implicitness in the Russian language successfully solves the problem of creating and maintaining the authors individuality. The prospects for this study are seen in further scientific development of various implicit ways of expressing the authors position in Runet journalism for further understanding of new processes in the Russian language, in the formation of journalistic discourse and in Russian communication in the digital space.

This article is devoted to the problem of using Russian time-prepositions by foreigners, especially by the Chinese. An analysis of modern literature allows the author to identify the main areas of the work aimed at foreign students’ development of the skills and abilities to correctly build the prepositional combinations and continuously improve the communication skills by means of the Russian language. In this paper, the time-prepositions in the Russian language have been analyzed in detail; some examples of polysemantic use of prepositions, their semantic and stylistic shades alongside with possible errors made by foreign students are presented. The results of the study are to help in developing a system of teaching Russian time-prepositions to a foreign language audience, taking into account their native language, on the basis of the systemic and functional, communicative and activity-centred basis. The role of Russian time-prepositions in constructing word combinations has been identified; the need for foreign students’ close attention to this secondary part of speech has been specified. It has been stated that prepositions are the most dynamic and open type of secondary language units within the quantitative and qualitative composition of which regular changes take place. The research substantiates the need that students should be aware of the function of time-preposition in speech; they are to get acquainted with the main time-prepositions and their meanings, to distinguish prepositions and other homonymous parts of speech as well as to learn stylistic shades of time-prepositions. Some recommendations related to the means of mastering time-prepositions have been given: to target speakers to assimilate modern literary norms and, therefore, to teach them how to choose and use them correctly by means of linguistic keys that are intended to fill the word with true meaning, to give it an organic structure, an inherent form and an easy combinability in the texts and oral speech.
