ABSTRACTThe provision of clean water in the Class 1 Surabaya Port Health Office is supervised in accordance with the existing regulations to identify sources that could potentially cause pollution and prevent the occurrence of illness caused by unstandardized water quality and unsafe water supply. This study aimed to describe the implementation of clean water supply supervision in the Class 1 Surabaya Port Health Office in the Juanda Airport working area, Surabaya. This was an observational study which analysis was descriptive in nature. The clean water was tested for physical, chemical, and microbiological parameters, and the results showed that the water quality was in accordance with the Regulation of the Indonesian Ministry of Health No. 416 of 1990 about the Terms and Monitoring of Water Quality. However, the result from the simple chemical inspection test of the water showed that it did not fulfil health standards i.e., the residual chlorine score not equal to 0 (zero). It is suggested that more attention and supervision are conducted by water management authorities to ensure the standard residual chlorine level of 0 (zero). Additionally, expired reagents or reagents that have already changed color should not be used as it will affect the parameters tested. Keywords: Quality of clean water, clean water supply facilities, water sampling process

Clean water is a basic necessity for daily life. Clean water helps people maintain their daily lives in case of domestic activities. If using unclean water, it will be harmful to the health because water is the medium that transports chemicals and bacteria, viruses, parasites causing diseases that are not visible to the naked eyes. According to statistics, Our country still has many places where the quality of water supply is not ensured for daily life, especially in mountainous, frontier areas and places where the terrain is difficult and lacks of facilities. The water used for living in the northwestern region in general and the Ta Vai stream’s basin in Ha Giang province in particular is taken from rivers and streams that have not been treated or have been processed but the water quality is not guaranteed for living. Therefore, a study on the construction of the treatment model of Ta Vai spring water in Ha Giang province by using membrane technology combined with integrated filter materials for water supply is essential. The research shows that the water treatment model in Ta Vai stream by using membrane technology combined with integrated filter materials has completely treated water as reaching the quality of QCVN 02: 2009 / BYT - National technical regulation on domestic water quality.

Introduction: Drinking water from centralized drinking water supply systems is not always safe due to its natural pollution with various chemicals and microbiological contamination occurring in the distribution system. In this regard, the role of the service exercising governmental water quality surveillance is growing. The purpose of the study was to assess the quality of drinking water and the associated health risk and to substantiate priority measures aimed at improving the quality of water in the centralized water supply systems of the region. Materials and methods: We examined the results of drinking water quality testing performed within the implementation of sanitary and epidemiological surveillance and socio-hygienic monitoring and incidence rates in morbidity of population in 27 districts of the Penza Region and the regional center for the years 2014–2019. Health risks from oral exposures to waterborne chemicals were assessed in accordance with Guidelines R 2.1.10.1920–04. The statistical relationship was studied by the correlation method. Results: We established that water quality in the centralized water supply systems fed by underground sources is determined by the chemical composition of the exploited aquifers that divide the territory of the Penza Region into four zones. The worst water quality was observed in the fourth zone where concentrations of natural iron, fluorides and boron in tap water were many times higher than their maximum permissible levels and the hazard quotient for fluorides exceeded the limit value (HQ = 2.845 for children and 1.219 for adults). In the third zone, iron posed the highest risks of diseases of mucosa and skin (HI = 0.296), the immune system (HI = 0.311), and hematopoietic system (H = 0.473) in children; we also established a strong correlation between the average annual concentration of iron in tap water and the incidence of genitourinary disorders, gastritis and duodenitis in the child population. Although the share of the population supplied with safe drinking water from centralized water supply systems increased from 86.5 % in 2014 to 89.4 % in 2019, the target set within the Regional Clean Water Project for 2019 was not achieved. Conclusion: The study results were taken into account when making additions to the Regional Clean Water Project in 2020 envisaging construction of iron removal plants and water well drilling in areas with low fluorine levels.

The current status assessment research of water use and quality of supplied domestic water in Thu Dau Mot city, Binh Duong province, as well as the clean water use situation of the local people. Sampling and assessment of the quality of supplied water at Thu Dau Mot Water supply enterprise. The water treatment process here is strictly conducted to ensure stability, constant pressure, inlet and outlet water flow. The analysis results of physical and chemical parameters of water quality at Thu Dau Mot Water supply enterprise show parameters within the allowable limits of water standards for domestic use QCVN 02: 2009/BYT and domestic water QCVN 01: 2009/BYT. However, during the water treatment process in the rainy season, it is time consuming and costly for the use of many chemicals in the treatment process, as high turbidity and high color temperature, low TDS, low pH, low chloride, high SS, Fe and Mn content changes in the wet season higher than in the dry season. After sampling for analysis and treatment, the output water meets the clean water standard to meet the needs of the people in Thu Dau Mot City and surrounding areas.

The need for clean water in big cities is very dependent on water supply by water companies (PDAM). The increasing demand for clean water in big cities is proportional to the increasing of number population and industry, but not comparable to the clean water supply and quality of raw water available. PDAM has made various efforts to improve the quality of clean water services to the community. One of the effort is to improve the performance of water treatment plant (WTP). To support the improvement of the performance of WTP, required water quality monitoring at the intake location in use. This paper discusses the online and realtime water quality monitoring at the water intake location using a multi-probe digital sensor and GSM technology. This observation data is used as a comparative data analysis of laboratory data on raw water source PDAM Taman Kota (Cengkareng Drain). Keywords: air baku air minum, intake PDAM Taman Kota Cengkareng Drain, pemantuan kualitas air, multi probe digital sensor, teknologi online monitoring, Water Treatment Plant

Aim. Study of the influence of drinking water quality on the ecologically-dependent morbidity of the population of the Republic of Dagestan.Material and Methods. Methods of current and retrospective analysis of regional health indicators and methods of mathematical-statistical and medical-geographical analysis were used. Statistical processing of the results was carried out using the STATISTICA and Excel software packages. When carrying out laboratory studies on the quality of drinking water, we used a Lumex atomic absorption spectrometer "MGA-915MD".Results. Numerous hygiene studies indicate the direct impact of unsatisfactory drinking water quality on the health of a population. The relationship between sanitary and chemical indicators and the incidence rate for a number of nosological forms has been proven. It is generally accepted that human health is influenced by lifestyle factors (working, living and relaxation conditions), heredity and the ecological condition of the area of residence, including the quality of drinking water. Although it is not possible to differentiate the share of the negative effect caused by the consumption of poor quality drinking water but the incidence of certain nosological forms (cancer of the esophagus, gastrointestinal tract and kidney diseases) in the those regions of the Republic of Dagestan under consideration correlates with the characteristics of drinking water.Conclusion. The problem of pollution of water supply sources for the population in the dynamics of the long-term remains a priority concern. The quality and safety of drinking water are decreasing, which cannot but have a negative impact on public health. Correlation linkages between indicators of drinking water quality and oncological morbidity of the population were also established in indicators below the maximum permissible concentrations, which corresponds to a typical logistic model of causal relationships and serves as evidence of the high dependence of health disorders on chemical contamination of water supply sources.

Changes in the land use and land cover in areas adjacent to water reservoirs directly affect the quality of this water. This research presents a study on the water quality in the basin of one of the most important public water supply reservoirs in the city of Juiz de Fora, Minas Gerais. The main objective of this study was to analyze the behavior of limnological parameters and the correlation with land use and land cover in the contribution basin of the Doutor João Penido reservoir (CBJPR). The methodology was based on the analysis of water quality parameters, related to water samples collected from 2012 to 2015. Six sampling points were chosen from different locations: spring, medium course, main tributaries of the reservoir and the reservoir catchment. The parameters analyzed were turbidity, total solids (TS), oxygen consumed (OC), dissolved oxygen (DO), electrical conductivity, total nitrogen (TN), total phosphorus (TP), E. Coli, temperature, pH and total dissolved solids (TDS). The Kendall’s tau test was used to analyze the correlations between the parameters of water quality, land use and land cover in the CBJPR. In general, measured parameters showed better results in spring and in reservoir catchment, showing a worse quality of the water along the tributaries and the dilution power of the reservoir. The correlations pointed to the need for protection and preservation of forests in strategic locations to ensure good water quality.
