The ability of a researcher and quality of research publications are generally measured by the number of research publications and the number of citations they receive during a given observation period. There are a number of research indices commonly used to assess the ability and hence the quantity of research along with the quality of a research publication. Research indices are calculated based on either citation values of research publications of a research scholar or the number of research papers published by a research scholar for a given period. Apart from generally used citation indices like H-index, i10-index, G-index, and based on argument on why certain research publications do not attract citations initially for some years, it is found that the best method of identifying the contribution to research is calculating the annual research index for an author by considering the annual research publications. Recently, we have suggested some of the new research indices used for calculating research productivity of individuals as well as a team of people in an organization which include ARPIndex – (Annual Research Publication Index), RC-Index – (Research Continuation Index), RE-Index (Research Expansion Index), Project Productivity Index, and Cost Index. In this paper, we have made an attempt to study these five indices by using our own technique of qualitative analysis of a system or concept called ABCD analysis/listing.

Background: Possible applications of photoelectrocatalysis in the field of environmentally sustainable processes have inspired an exponentially increasing number of papers in the last decades. Less frequently, bibliometric analyses are presented, which are especially useful when a considerable amount of data is involved: metadata can be viewed from micro to macro perspective and may suggest ideas for future research. Objective: The objective of this study is to derive information on the research trends and to individuate possible gaps in specific topics, as well information on the authors and their related countries and institutes, and to quantify possible cooperation patterns between them. Methods: In addition to the classic data analyses immediately available on the database, such as the trend of the number of publications per year and the list of the most active authors or countries, the bibliometric analysis has been carried out using the VOSviewer software. Co-authorship and co-citation analyses have been performed, as well as co-occurrence of the keywords explicitly indicated by the authors. Results and Conclusion: Based on the publications in the SCOPUS database, the present work analysed the metadata relating to scientific articles published in the last two decades, dedicated to the research on photo-electrocatalytic processes and their possible application on wastewater treatment. Based on the list of the references present in the examined papers, the co-authorship analysis and the co-citation analysis also allowed the identification of the authors and the publications which have been most influential on the research on the examined topics. Indication has been obtained on the trend of the main topics investigated in time, as well as the current gaps in terms of content-wise and geographic cooperation.

Phycobiliproteins are gaining popularity as long-term, high-value natural products which can be alternatives to synthetic products. This study analyzed research trends of phycobiliproteins from 1909 to 2020 using a bibliometric approach based on the Scopus database. The current findings showed that phycobiliprotein is a burgeoning field in terms of publications outputs with “biochemistry, genetics, and molecular biology” as the most related and focused subject. The Journal of Applied Phycology was the most productive journal in publishing articles on phycobiliproteins. Although the United States of America (U.S.A.) contributed the most publications on phycobiliproteins, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (China) is the institution with the largest number of publications. The most productive author on phycobiliproteins was Glazer, Alexander N. (U.S.A.). The U.S.A. and Germany were at the forefront of international collaboration in this field. According to the keyword analysis, the most explored theme was the optimization of microalgae culture parameters and phycobiliproteins extraction methods. The bioactivity properties and extraction of phycobiliproteins were identified as future research priorities. Synechococcus and Arthrospira were the most cited genera. This study serves as an initial step in fortifying the phycobiliproteins market, which is expected to exponentially expand in the future. Moreover, further research and global collaboration are necessary to commercialize phycobiliproteins and increase the consumer acceptability of the pigments and their products.

The field of social innovation (SI) has received a growing interest from academia and policymakers from the past two decades. This research aims to identify research trends in the field of social innovation. For this purpose, we have carried out a bibliometric analysis on data from the previous 54 years, i.e. 1966-2019 from the Scopus database. This analysis is based on a bibliometric analysis of all published 'articles' in the SCOPUS database. The phrase "Social Innovation" was searched in title or abstract to search for the relevant articles. This research is carried out to investigate parameters such as publications in line with the years, subject areas, top journals, top authors and countries contributing to the SI field, collaborations and co-occurrence of keywords. Finding demonstrated that Frances R. Westley (University of waterloo) is the most prolific author in the SI field. Additionally, through an analysis of the top journals, we identified that 'Sustainability' is the top journal and that field is multidisciplinary. We have noticed a significant increase in the published articles in social innovation domain since 2016. This leads us to the conclusion that the topic has gained relevance among the academicians in recent years. The number of publications are expected to increase following this publication trend. We used VoS Viewer visual bibliometric analyser to identify the co-occurrence of keywords and co-authorship of countries. We found that Innovation, Social Entrepreneurship, Social Enterprises, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and governance are the focus areas of social innovation research. Some variables with infrequent occurrences, limitations and future recommendations are also discussed.
