Globally, countries are strategically positioning themselves for market leadership due to dynamic business environment. Entrepreneurial spirit is seen as the strategy that will deliver this agenda.  This spirit, is believed to be behind the innovative business that revolutionizes the business world. In a dynamic and complex environment, the success of any business is pegged on the entrepreneurial operations of a firm.  Entrepreneurial-oriented firms have been proven to be ahead of competition because they are always introduced new products and services and in turn improve their financial results. Scholars believe that learning and development can occur amongst people who actively engage in a common enterprise. This makes learning empowering and productive and thus sustains entrepreneurial orientation. This in turn produces communities of entrepreneurial practice. The role of the entrepreneurial manager is to nurture communities of growth-oriented firms where entrepreneurial learning takes place. The purpose of this study is to assess the relationship between entrepreneurial management and performance of incubator centres in Kenya. The study used a correlation design because it focused on a causal-effect relationship. The study population was 41 incubator managers in Kenya. After missing data analysis two respondents were expunged leaving 39 respondents. Secondary data was obtained from published sources such as company reports, manuals and research done by other scholars. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) approach was used to analyze the measurement model and test the hypothesized relationship in this study.  Simple linear regression model was used to measure the strength of the relationship between entrepreneurial management and performance incubator centre in Kenya. The joint effect model results indicated that entrepreneurial management had a significant relationship with performance of incubator centre.

ABSTRACT This article aims to investigate the relationship between perceptions of the enabling dimension and the technical validity of the management reports of an insurance company and the performance of its sales managers, mediated by the use of these reports. Companies invest resources in providing management reports for business managers to take decisions, so understanding what influences the use of these reports and whether this use is associated with performance constitutes a relevant subject for both academia and professional practice. The results may be useful for organizations that are taking decisions to invest in management reports, showing that technical validity is what best influences the use of these reports, at least in the short term, which is also a contribution to the theory. Secondary data were combined with a survey of 231 respondents from an insurance company and analyzed using the structural equation modeling (SEM) technique via partial least squares (PLS). The article contributes to the literature and management accounting practice by demonstrating that, unlike in previous studies, the enabling dimension does not positively influence the use of management reports. On the other hand, the study shows that technical validity, which is a more tangible dimension of the quality of management reports, is positively associated with their use and that this use influences the performance of the sales managers. This study aims to analyze the relevant indicators of spending quality in measuring the quality of regional spending as well as the relationship between the quality of regional spending and the development performance of the regencies/cities of Banten Province. This study uses secondary data from the governance, financial and performance development of the districts/cities of Banten Province between 2009 – 2013. The Data are analyzed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Model (PLS–SEM) using SmartPLS software version 2.0 & SmartPLS version 3.0. The Results show that there are 21 indicators out of 40 indicators that are relevant in measuring the quality of the districts/cities spending in Banten Province. The change of the spending quality map from 2009 to 2013 shows that the quality of North Banten (Tangerang Regency, Tangerang City, Tangerang Selatan, Serang Regency, Serang City and Cilegon City) is better than South Banten (Pandeglang and Lebak). In addition, the estimation results from the model used indicate that the quality of the region spending of Banten Provinve has a positive relationship with the performance of development with the value of the indicator 0,678. Business incubators are regarded as entrepreneurial hubs, unleashing entrepreneur’s ideas and businesses into the market, in turn, jobs are created and the economy of the area is improved. Due to the stiff competition for placement into an incubator program it is imperative for incubator management come-up with strategies of being more efficient and effective in utilizing resources to achieve superior performance. Hence the need to critically select clients, whose ideas fit the incubator’s mission and upon graduation create high growth businesses, with a higher survival rate of 90%. The study is anchored on Resource Based Theory. The study used a correlation design that focused on causal relationship of client selection criteria and incubator centre performance (ICP). The study population was 41 incubator managers in Kenya. After missing data analysis two respondents were expunged leaving 39 respondents. Secondary data was obtained from published sources such as company reports, manuals and research done by other scholars. Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) approach was used to analyze the measurement model and test the hypothesized relationship in this study. Simple linear regression model was used to measure the strength of the relationship between client selection criteria and performance incubator centre in Kenya. The results of the combined effect model indicated that client selection criteria had a significant relationship with performance of incubator centres.

This paper focuses on explaining how individuals set goals on multiple performance episodes, in the context of performance feedback comparing their performance on each episode with their respective goal. The proposed model was tested through a longitudinal study of 493 university students’ actual goals and performance on business school exams. Results of a structural equation model supported the proposed conceptual model in which self-efficacy and emotional reactions to feedback mediate the relationship between feedback and subsequent goals. In addition, as expected, participants’ standing on a dispositional measure of behavioral inhibition influenced the strength of their emotional reactions to negative feedback.

PurposeThe creative process through which the territorial resources, knowledge and culture are used, exploited and configured to match needs and to achieve congruence with the changing business environment has become a crucial process for competitiveness. This is even more relevant for economies of developing countries which are continuously struggling to reap the benefits of globalisation, as well as to grasp the new opportunities for competitiveness. As such, this paper aims to try to concentrate on the dynamic perspectives of the creative economy of countries by distinguishing between the potentialities and performance. The paper tackles the influence that creativity capacities might have on performance of countries.Design/methodology/approachThe methodology consists in identifying creative economy indicators from a diverse data set of the World Economic Forum and distinguish them between potential and performance indicators.FindingsData reveal as good progress and emphasis is being devoted to increasing the level of creativity; however, the Balkan countries still holdup in their capacity to boost innovation.Practical implicationsThe paper provide a new focus of research on creativity measurement that is significant for understanding what creative capacities territories possess and the ability to make proficient use for growth and innovation.Originality/valueThis paper proposes a new operational framework for measuring and interpreting the creative economy indicators by identifying not only indicators that gauge the potentialities of a country, but also indicators that are linked with the performance dimension, as well as the relationship amongst them.

This study examines coffee shops’ marketing mix and its impact on customer satisfaction and word of mouth (WOM). Also, analyzing customer satisfaction mediates the relationship between the marketing mix and word of mouth. This study used a quantitative approach with 100 sampling of coffee shop’s customers across Malang City. Primary data collection is done by distributing questioner containing several questions using a Likert scale to the respondents, while secondary data is obtained from literature studies. For analyzing the data, this study applied descriptive analysis and statistical analysis employed WarpPLS 7.0 software to perform the Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) analysis. This study proves that marketing mix has a positive and significant effect on customer satisfaction, and the same relationship was found between the marketing mix and WOM. An important finding from this study is that customer satisfaction plays a mediating role between marketing mix and word of mouth.

The article deals with an investigation of the relationship between inter-organizational trust and performance. Using data obtained in a questionnaire survey in 373 organizations with more than 20 employees with their seat in the Czech Republic, we found the relationship between inter-organizational trust and supplier performance, mediated by the level of conflict. Also, the statistically significant negative relationship between inter-organizational trust and costs of negotiation and the statistically significant positive relationship between supplier performance and perceived performance were confirmed. The hypothesis on the statistically significant relationship between inter-organizational trust and negotiating costs was not confirmed. The structural equation modelling technique was used in the calculations. The calculated model fit indices (CFI, NFI, NNFI) with values over 0.9 demonstrate a very good quality of the model.

This study analyzes the causal relationship between sustainable manufacturing practice (SMP) and environmental sustainability as well as determines the mediating effect of innovation performance (IP) on the relationship between SMP and environmental sustainability. Adaptation from the changing business environment, manufacturing firms are facing great challenge on producing more products with less resource consumption, pollution emitted and waste generated. Using structural equation modeling, the survey data collected from 150 Malaysian manufacturing firms has been analyzed in this study. The empirical results show that both types of SMP have a positive and significant impact on environmental sustainability with external SMP is greater than internal SMP. However, there is no significant evidence to prove IP as a mediator for SMP-environmental sustainability linkage. The findings of this paper have important implication in both theoretical and practical perspectives. While provide better understanding of the phenomena by simultaneously analyzing a series of dependence relationships among SMP, IP and environmental sustainability, these results could help managers to understand the types of practices that would improve their environmental performance.
