In this study, the degradable superhydrophobic Mg/P/Z/F/H (magnesi-um/poly(-caprolactone)/zinc oxide/1H,1H,2H,2H-perfluorodecyltriethoxysilane (PFDTES)/ heating process) composite materials were prepared through one-step method for enhancing the corrosion resistance of AZ91D magnesium alloys. Electrochemical measurements showed that Mg/P/Z/F/H materials significantly improved the corrosion resistance of magnesium alloys in 3.5 wt.% NaCl. The self-cleaning, adhesion and stability tests suggested that Mg/P/Z/F/H composite materials had well self-cleaning properties, good adhesion strength and stability in wet atmosphere.

In this paper, hyperbranched polyether functionalized graphene oxide (EHBPE-GO) was prepared by a facile one-step method. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), X-ray diffractometry (XRD), thermogravimetric analyzer (TGA), and trans-mission electron microscopy (TEM) results confirmed the formation of EHBPE-GO. Then, EHBPE-GO was cured with phenolic amides at room temperature to prepare epoxy coatings. The corrosion resistance of epoxy coatings was investigated systematically by using electrochemical and traditional immersion methods. Results show that a small amount of EHBPE-GO (8 wt % of Diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA)) in epoxy coating achieves 50% higher improvement in acid-resistance than unmodified neat DGEBA resin. For the nanocomposite epoxy coating, the superior acid-resistance is attributed to the increased crosslink density and the impermeable 2D structure of EHBPE-GO. This work provides a facile strategy to develop the effective improved corrosion resistance nanofiller for epoxy coating.

A chromium-free conversion coating for AZ91D magnesium alloys has been obtained by using a phosphate-permanganate solution. Examinations have been carried out on the conversion coating for morphology, composition, adhesion force and corrosion resistance. Results show that the conversion coatings are relatively uniform and continuous, with thickness from 7µm to 10µm. They exhibit good adhesion to matrix and have some non-penetrate tiny holes on the surface. The main elements of the conversion coating of AZ91D alloy are Mg、O、P、K、Al、Mn. Results of corrosion resistance test indicate that the corrosion resistance of the conversion coating by phosphate-permanganate solution is in match to that of the conversion coating formed in a chromate solution, but for the corrosion resistance after painting, the former is better than the later.

A robust superhydrophobic coating based on Ni/WS2was fabricated successfully through a simple one-step electrodeposition process. This metal-caramic composite coating showed excellent self-cleaning and corrosion resistance properties.

AbstractSeveral copolyesters were synthesized from carboxytelechelic poly( - caprolactone) and bis(2-hydroxyethyl)terephthalate (BHET), using a two-step method and a one-step method providing regular and random distributions of starting comonomers in the copolyester chains, respectively. Even with an identical molar comonomer composition, the properties of obtained copolyesters depended on the synthesis method, therefore the comonomer distribution along the polymer chain. The copolyester structure was characterized by 1H and 13C NMR and FTIR spectroscopy. The thermal properties of synthesized copolyesters were also studied by DSC and TGA demonstrating the influence of aromatic rings spread along the macromolecular polyester chain.

A facile one-step electrodeposition method was used to fabricate a hierarchical papillae-covered SHPS on an Al substrate with enhanced corrosion resistance (corrosion inhibition efficiency ~99.96%) and lotus-like self-cleaning effect.
