This paper presents the results of an experimental study of the patterns of steel and lead shot transformation under the impact of environmental factors (two types of shot exposed alone and in combination with each other). The analyzed environmental factors include atmospheric precipitation of various acidity and soil solutions with a higher content of organic acids. This research demonstrated that steel shot is characterized by a high transformation rate that is an order of magnitude higher on average than the transformation rate of lead under the same conditions. The prevalence of the suspended iron form (excluding the interaction with organic acids) presents risks for such environmental components as soils and sediments and may be hazardous to the ambient air and natural waters in case of wind erosion and surface runoff from the catchment area. Furthermore, the joint presence of steel and lead shot mutually accelerates the corrosion of both metals, thus increasing the environmental risks.

Aim. To assess the risk of developing non-carcinogenic health disorders in adolescents depending on environmental factors and lifestyle.Methods. Calculation of daily doses in inhalation exposure of substances was performed according to the monitoring data of The Federal Service for Hydrometeorology and Environmental Monitoring of Russia (ambient air of Angarsk) in 2003-2014 and the results of the control of impurity levels (formaldehyde, carbon monoxide, nitrogen dioxide, suspended solids) in ambient air, as well as in the air of study rooms and living accommodations, conducted in the laboratory of physical and chemical methods of investigation. The study of the impact of lifestyle factors was performed according to the results social hygienic survey of adolescents. Health problems in adolescents were identified as a result of the medical examination conducted with the participation of the pediatrician, ophthalmologist, otolaryngologist, neurologist, orthopedist, endocrinologist.Results. It has been established that the risk of non-carcinogenic effects for adolescents of industrial city and suburban villages was caused by the presence of formaldehyde and suspended solids, mainly in indoor air. For adolescents living in areas with low exposure, the health risks were associated with the concentration of suspended solids in ambient air and indoor air. The adverse impact of lifestyle factors was observed only in urban adolescents. High relative risk of scoliosis, valgus feet, and flat feet was found for adolescents with insufficient physical activity, myopia - for those with long-term working at a computer.Conclusion. The results are indicative of the specificity of the effects of combined factors (ambient air pollution and lifestyle) on the developing body; adolescents living in the city have higher relative risk of diseases of the upper respiratory tract, musculoskeletal system, visual organs, and autonomic dysfunction syndrome.

The work includes the natural waters’ quality control within the precincts of Salekhard. Shaytanka River, Poluy River and Lebyazhye Lake were discovered. By waters’ quality control was used pollution index. The work is done in terms of Scientific work (NIR) “Assessment of the health risk of the population of the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District in connection with the impact of chemical environmental factors”.

The current study experimentally investigates the heat transfer augmentation on the novel axial corrugated heat exchanger tube in which the spring tape is introduced. Air (Pr = 0.707) is used as a working fluid. In order to augment the thermohydraulic performance, a corrugated tube with inserts is offered. The experimental study is further extended by varying the important parameters like spring ratio (y = 1.5, 2.0, 2.5) and Reynolds number (Re = 10 000–52 000). The angular pitch between the two neighboring corrugations and the angle of the corrugation is kept constant through the experiments at β = 1200 and α = 600 respectively, while two different corrugations heights (h) are analyzed. While increasing the corrugation height and decreasing the spring ratio, the impact of the swirling effect improves the thermal performance of the system. The maximum thermal performance is obtained when the corrugation height is h = 0.2 and spring ratio y = 1.5. Eventually, correlations for predicting friction factor (f) and Nusselt number (Nu) are developed.

Subject. This article deals with the issues of functioning of the region as a system. Objectives. The article aims to identify the problems of the region's functioning as a system, develop methodological tools to monitor the sustainable development of the Siberian Federal District territories, and determine the the impact of socio-economic and environmental factors on the sustainable development of the region as a whole. Methods. For the study, I used the methods of theoretical, statistical, and empirical analyses taking into account an integrated approach. Results. The article reveals the impact of some individual components of regional development on the sustainability of the territorial system as a whole. Relevance. The results of the study can be used to analyze the sustainability of regions' development.

Ensuring the sustainable development of agroecosystems requires research into the justification of the impact of environmental factors on the formation of territorial agroecosystems and identifies ways to take them into account in order to justify management decisions and ensure environmental safety. The main goal of the research within the article is to identify the most significant environmental factors in predicting the formation of agroecosystems. Provisions are devoted to the study of the laws governing the functioning of agroecosystems in order to increase their stability. The methods of comparative analysis, generalization, abstraction, logical analysis are applied. A number of provisions are formulated regarding ways to account for the influence of factors on the formation of key elements of agroecosystems.

AbstractBackground Ascaris lumbricoides eggs had very thick walls consisted of three layers, they were albuminoid layer, hyaline layer and vitelin layer. These layers were impermeable causing the Ascaris lumbricoides eggs resistant to less supportive environmental factors. Formalin 10% was a preservative that was often used to preserve faeces containing parasites such as protozoa and worm eggs. However, without heating, formalin 10% was not effective to preserve the Ascaris lumbricoides eggs because they would keep developing to become infective (containing larvae). Objective This study aims to prove whether there is an effect of adding 10% formalin which is heated at 60 C, 70 C and 80 C to the development of Ascaris lumbricoides eggs.Methods The design of this research was an experimental study with The Randomized Posttest Control Group Design. Result The Ascaris lumbricoides eggs were still growing into infective eggs in faeces although they were heated by formalin 10% at 60C, 70C and 80C. conclusion Based on the results of the study, there was no effect of heating temperature of formalin 10% on the development of Ascaris lumbricoides egg.Keywords: Formalin 10%, Ascaris lumbricoides, Heating, Soil Transmitted Helminth

Introduction: Key issues of assessing effectiveness and economic efficiency of implementing the Federal Clean Air Project by public health criteria are considered based on the example of the Comprehensive Emission Reduction Action Plan realized in the city of Nizhny Tagil, Sverdlovsk Region. Materials and methods: We elaborated method approaches and reviewed practical aspects of evaluating measures taken in 2018–2019 at key urban industrial enterprises accounting for 95 % of stationary source emissions. Results: Summary calculations of ambient air pollution and carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic inhalation health risks including residual risks, evaluation of the impact of air quality on urban mortality and morbidity rates, economic assessment of prevented morbidity and premature mortality cases have enabled us not only to estimate health effects but also to develop guidelines for development and implementation of actions aimed at enhancing effectiveness and efficiency of industrial emission reduction in terms of health promotion of the local population. Conclusions: We substantiate proposals for the necessity and sufficiency of taking remedial actions ensuring achievement of acceptable health risk levels as targets of the Comprehensive Emission Reduction Action Plan in Nizhny Tagil until 2024 and beyond.
