<p>This research is regarding the readiness of typical student in communication by using sign language in Hearing Impairment Integration Programme. There were 60 typical students from a Special Education Integration Programme of secondary school in Malacca were chosen as research respondents. The instrument of the research was a set of questionnaire which consisted of four parts, namely Student’s demography (Part A), Student’s knowledge (Part B), Student’s ability to communicate (Part C) and Student’s interest to communicate (Part D). The questionnaire was adapted from the research of Asnul Dahar and Rabiah's 'The Readiness of Students in Following Vocational Subjects at Jerantut District, Rural Secondary School in Pahang'.  Descriptive analysis was used to analysis the data. Mean score was used to determine the level of respondents' perception of each question. The findings showed a positive relationship between typical students towards communication medium by using sign language. Typical students were seen to be interested in communicating using sign language and were willing to attend the Sign Language class if offered.</p>

The purpose of this quantitative research was to identify the role of mobile technology in the vocabulary development of students with hearing impairment. The population of study involved students with hearing impairment from schools in Lahore.  A sample of 80 students studying at National Special Education Center, Johar Town Lahore, and Govt. Degree College of Special Education, Lahore was selected studying from 7th grade to bachelors. A self-developed and validated questionnaire was used to elicit students` responses on the usage of mobile technology in the aspect of reading, writing, social media and grammar and punctuation skills. Data was collected personally by going to the institutions and distributing the questionnaires among students. A sign language interpreter translated the questions in sign language and the students gave appropriate answers. The collected data was analysed on SPSS. Independent sample t-test was used to see differences in the vocabulary development based on the usage, age, gender, and grade of the students. Major findings revealed that mobile technology is playing a significant role in learning vocabulary among students with hearing impairment. It has played a major role in learning new words and connecting with the world more quickly. This technology should be used for academic purposes to improve their language skills and bridge the communication gap. Conclusions were drawn and recommendations to Punjab Special Education Department of Pakistan were made.

Universal accessibility to public television guarantees the fundamental right to receive media information and promotes social inclusion. British audiovisual regulations impose minimum quotas for subtitling, audio description, and sign language to make content more accessible to people with visual or hearing impairment. However, these minimum requirements do not ensure full user satisfaction. The aim of this study is to present a descriptive analysis of user satisfaction with the accessibility of BBC public television services, both linear and on demand, and collect the improvements demanded by users. The survey method was applied, interviewing 442 UK residents who were users of subtitles, audio description, and sign language, mostly people with disabilities or members of their families. The questionnaire also included qualitative questions to capture basic demands identified by the users. One of the main results is the need to improve the quality and synchrony of live subtitling, and to increase the fractions of programming with audio description and sign language. Moreover, beyond compliance with the law, it is essential to listen to the opinions of users with visual or hearing impairment to ensure that services fulfill their mission of guaranteeing audiovisual accessibility and promoting social inclusion.

This article discusses issues and challenges faced by special education teachers in using Bahasa Isyarat Malaysia to teach the deaf basics of fardhu ain. Firstly, the shortage of Islamic terminologies in sign language leads to communication barrier between the teacher and students. Besides that, the Fardhu Ain teachers are not well-versed with sign language. Another issue is that the curriculum used is meant for the typical community and unsuitable for the deaf community. Abstrak Artikel ini membincangkan tentang isu dan cabaran yang dihadapi guru  pendidikan  khas dalam  penggunaan  BIM untuk pengajaran PAFA kepada golongan pekak. Isu dan cabaran  yang  pertama  ialah  kekurangan  bahasa  isyarat agama  Islam  yang  menyebabkan  kesukaran  golongan pekak  dan  guru  yang  mengajar  untuk  berkomunikasi bagi  membincangkan  perkara   yang  berkaitan   dengan agama. Selain    itu,    isu    dan    cabaran    kedua    ialah ketidakmahiran    guru    PAFA    dalam    berkomunikasi menggunakan bahasa isyarat. Seterusnya isu dan cabaran ketiga   ialah ketidaksesuaian   kurikulum   PAFA   untuk golongan    pekak    kerana kurikulum    PAFA    yang digunakan kepada golongan pekak turut digunakan sama oleh golongan tipikal Muslim yang lain.

The present study is to examine the creativity as related to adjustment of secondary school students. Sample comprised of 100(50 boys and 50 girls) from Government school of district Muktsar of Punjab was selected randomly. Data were conducted by using Creativity test by Passi, B.K and Adjustment Inventory by Sinha, A.K.P & Singh, R.P. The results revealed that there exist significant and positive relationship between creativity and adjustment and different dimensions of adjustment i.e. emotional, social and educational adjustment of adolescents.

This research aims at exposing the impact of the variability of presentation ways of visual stimuli and their associated sign-language explanation(visual stimuli without sign-language explanation/ visual stimuli followed by sign-language explanation/ visual stimuli simultaneous with the presentation of sign-language explanation) in educational computer programs on academic achievement of some English words among high school students (deaf group) in the integration program At Ain Jaloot Secondary School and the integration program in Dumah Al Jandal Secondary School. The study population included students of the integration program of the two schools, the sample size was determined and it included (36) deaf students who were randomly distributed into three pilot groups. The prior assessment was applied by using the electronic achievement test prepared by the Quiz Creator application, its reliability and validity were then confirmed by checking the coherence of the three groups. The three pilot groups enrolled for an educational computer program, in which the first group studied the impact of the variability of visual stimuli without sign-language explanation, the second group studied the visual stimuli followed by sign-language explanation, then the third group studied the visual stimuli simultaneous with the presentation of sign-language explanation the groups and each group of the three groups included a sample of 12 deaf students. The results of the study showed: Presence of differences which are statically significant (P value= 0.05) between the average degrees of the three groups in favor of the second group who studied the visual stimuli followed by a sign-language explanation.

The kinesiological areas of education, sport, sports recreation and kinesitherapy of children and youth with hearing impairment present a methodological and didactical problem, which occurs due to the specific characteristics that people with hearing impairment possess. The communication aspect of the work with children and youth with hearing impairment is considerably limited. Therefore, to ensure an optimal and continuous kinesiological process, it is important to know all the specificities of working with them. The main goal of this paper is to outline some general recommendations and adjustments related to the work with children and youth with hearing impairment in kinesiological areas. Special attention will be given to the communication systems and the presentation of kinesiological terminology in the Croatian sign language in order to optimize the communication aspect. This professional paper is an introduction to a more comprehensive manual on the specifics of children and youth with hearing impairment in the motor environment, specialties of kinesiological education, with the addition of general recommendations and adaptations for work and a wider presentation of kinesiological terminology in the Croatian sign language. The basic knowledge on the methodological, didactic and communication approach to children and youth with hearing impairment in the field of kinesiological education, as well as other kinesiological orientations will be given to the educators, teachers and professors who are not sufficiently informed and adequately educated in this field during their studies, as well as to the current students of the same orientations.
