<p>In terms of beauty or aesthetic aspect which contained in the choice of words of a poet, is an actualization of ideas  or concepts  that attracted of  readers.  Script is a literary work originating from the thinking process of each local poet to actualize his or her ideas and concepts. In relation with the contents packed with the beauty of language use, this research focuses its studies on the Javanese script with <em>piwulang</em> (doctrine) category, namely: <em>Sêrat Ciptan Sabên Esuk</em>. The objectives of this research are to explain: (1) the peculiarity of language sounds aspects, (2) the peculiarity of the utilization of archaic forms. This research used the descriptive qualitative method. The sources of the data were the transliterated script of <em>Sêrat Ciptan Sabên Esuk</em> by Teja in 2014 and its original one. The data included assonance, alliteration, and repetition; the use of archaic forms. The data of research were collected through listening and recording techniques and analyzed by extralingual similirity method. The result of research shows that in the script of <em>Sêrat Ciptan Sabên Esuk</em>, which is in the prose form, are found the use of  assonances, and archaic forms which generally found in poetry (javanese song).</p><p> </p><p> </p><p><strong>Keywords</strong>: <em>Sêrat Ciptan Sabên Esuk</em>, the peculiarity of language sounds, and archaic forms of words.</p>

Novel is a literary work which is also known as fiction. Therefore, the notion of fiction also applies to the novel, which is a result of dialogue, contemplation, and the author's reaction to the environment and life. Each writer has a message that is implied in each of his works, one of which is as a distributor of da'wah messages. In this study, the researcher chose the novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis compared to the novel Dua Barista by Najhati Sharma. Because these two novels are the work of writers who were born in Islamic boarding schools. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The results of this study indicate that there are similarities and differences in the message of da'wah in the novel Hati Suhita by Khilma Anis and the novel Dua Barista by Najhati Sharma.

The purpose of the analysis is to find out the attitude of trust showed by King David in Holy Bible in the book of Psalm. This analysis reveals the attitude of trust that is stated by words in poetry in the book of Psalm. Descriptive Qualitative method is used to analyze primary and secondary data from the book of Psalm and also from the articles or books that support the data by using some steps or procedures that is : to organize and prepare all the data needed, read the data which is the book of Psalm and other references then analyze data by identifying the sentences that represent the statement of having a trust of King David to God. The meaning of this learning both theory and practice is expected to give contribution to the readers about what and how trust is and how they apply it well and correctly. The objective of this research is to know what is antisocial disorder that was conducted by watching the dark knight movie. In this paper, the writers used descriptive qualitative method by visited the library and browsed of internet to get the references and data that related to the topic. For data collection, all information was collected by librarian research to obtain the theories of literary work and all support information that related to the objective of the research. The next stage was analyzing of The Dark Knight movie by watching it several times . The result of this research indicated that; (1) there are seven symptopms of antisocial disorder that occurred in joker character such as failure to conform to social norm, deceitfulness, impulsivity, irritability and aggressiveness, reckless disregard for safety of self or others, consistent irresponsibility, and lack of remorse (2) antisocial disorder in joker character developed by childhood trauma and abuse which is caused by his father’s treatments (3) there are three moral messages that can learned from the dark knight movie such as humanity, teamwork, and consideration.

This study aims to describe how historical contexts contained in the essay poem "Mata Luka Sengkon Karta" by Peri Sandi Huizche. With reference to some problem formulations formulated on how the historical context is presented and how social criticism in the essay poem "Mata Luka Sengkon Karta" by Peri Sandi Huizche. The method used is a descriptive qualitative method using data collection techniques namely interventarization techniques, reading reading techniques, recording techniques. Based on research conducted by researchers, it can be concluded that there are three historical contexts and three social criticisms contained in the essay poem "Mata Luka Sengkon Karta" by Peri. Artikel ini mendiskusikan kritik  sosial dalam novel “Anak-Anak Tukang” karya Baby Ahnan. Novel itu mengisahkan hiruk piruk kehidupan lingkungan sosial yang di dalamnya mengandung kritik sosial seperti soal pemerataan pembangunan pendidikan. Sementara pengertian kritik pada dasarnya merupakan wujud sambutan pembaca yang menghakimi serta menilai karya sastra guna memberi penilaian dan memberi keputusan baik dan buruk tidaknya suatu karya satra yang telah dibaca oleh kritikus. Metode yang digunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif dan pendekatan sosiologi sastra. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pembangunan fisik yang terjadi di daerah seperti Flores ternyata tidak menjamin terjadinya peningkatan kesejatraan masyarakat. Kemudian, pemanfaatan tenaga kerja lokal di sektor pembangunan menjadi tidak optimal karena pendidikan mereka rendah sebagai akibat pendidikan yang tidak merata.Katakunci: kritik, sosial, lingkungan, pendidikan Abstract:This article discusses social criticism in Baby Ahnan's novel “Anak-Anak Tukang”. The novel tells a story of the hustle and bustle of social life which contains social criticism, such as the issue of equality of education. Meanwhile, the definition of criticism is basically a form of response from readers who judge and judge literary works in order to give judgments and make decisions about whether or not a literary work has been read by critics. The method used was descriptive qualitative method and sociological literary approach. The results show that physical infrastructure development in areas such as Flores did not guarantee an improvement in the welfare of the community. Then, the utilization of local labor in the development sector is not optimal because their education is low as a result of unequal education.Keywords: criticism,  education, environmental, social

This research was created based on concerning the importance of efficient language use. The language use can be called efficient if the message is clear, unambiguous and can be understood by both speaker and hearer. Cooperative principles proposed by Grice (1975) explained the way people use the language well and efficiently. There are at least four maxims that should be followed in order to have achieve connection during conversation which are 1) maxim of manner, 2) maxim of quantity, 3) maxim of quality, and 4) maxim of manner. In fact, there are several maxim violations happened in human life especially figured in the movie. The maxim violations may cause misunderstanding while the conversation is going on. This paper aims to analyze the maxim violations that exist in the movie titled Night at the Museum 1. It uses descriptive qualitative method with pragmatics identity analysis. The findings show that maxim of manner and quantity are the dominant maxims which are violated.

This study uses descriptive qualitative method which focusing on the literary work in the novel and interpretation on the analysis. The main data is taken from the novel The Handmaid’s Tale written by Margaret Atwood. This subject of study focus on the influences of totalitarianism held in the Republic of Gilead and how Offred resists totalitarianism in the novel. In order to analyze the text, this study uses the theory of Totalitarianism by Friedrich and Brzeziinski and Hannah Arendt. The result of this analysis depicts the political system of totalitarianism in Gilead influences their societies, especially Offred and the way to resist against the regime. The features of totalitarianism are used to depict the characteristics of totalitarianism that happen in Gilead society. The totalitarianism ideology brings Offred’s action to resist against it.

Abstrak: Karya sastra adalah sebuah ungkapan perasaan, ide, dan pemikiran dalam suatu gambaran konkret baik tertulis maupun tidak tertulis, salah satunya berupa sebuah lirik lagu. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan menggunakan 3 album yaitu “My Way”, “Answer” dan “Negai E.P.” sebagai sumber data yang disinyalir sudah cukup mewakili karakteristik diksi dan gaya bahasa yang digunakan pada lirik lagu karya Touyama Mirei. Metode kualitatif deskriptif sebagai metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, pada album “Answer”, “My Way”, dan “Negai E.P” terdapat 16 macam gaya bahasa. Pada album “Answer” ditemukan 13 macam gaya bahasa, pada album “My Way” ditemukan 9 macam gaya bahasa, pada mini-album “Negai E.P” ditemukan 3 macam gaya bahasa. Gaya bahasa yang paling banyak ditemukan dalam 3 album tersebut adalah gaya bahasa Metafora dan Repetisi. Adapun diksi yang sering muncul dan digunakan bersifat denotatif. Simpulan yang dapat diambil adalah gaya bahasa berupa metafora dan repetisi,  dan penggunaan diksi bersifat denotatif atau bermakna sebenarnya merupakan ciri khas atau style dari penyanyi sekaligus pengarang lagu Touyama Mirei.Kata kunci: Stilistika, Lirik Lagu, Diksi, Gaya Bahasa, Makna Abstract: Literary work is an expression of feelings, ideas, and thoughts in a concrete picture both written and unwritten, one of which is a song lyrics. This research was conducted using 3 albums namely "My Way", "Answer" and "Negai E.P." as a source of data that was allegedly sufficient to represent the characteristics of diction and language style used in song lyrics by Touyama Mirei. Descriptive qualitative method as a research method in this study. Based on the results of the analysis that has been done, it is concluded that 16 kinds of language styles can be found in the album "Answer", "My Way", and "Negai E.P". In the album "Answer" found 13 kinds of language styles, on the album "My Way" found 9 kinds of language styles, on the mini-album "Negai E.P" found 3 kinds of language styles. The style of language most commonly found in these 3 albums is the style of Metaphor and Repetition. The diction that often appears and is used is denotative. The conclusion that can be drawn is the style of language in the form of metaphors and repetitions and the use of diction which is denotative or meaningful is actually a characteristic or style of the singer and songwriter Touyama Mirei. This study aimed to investigate the teenagers’ perception towards language use in advertisement. Advertisement is the best way to communicate to the customers. Advertisement helps informs the customers about the brands available in the market and the variety of products useful to them. Advertisement is for everybody including kids, young and old. It is done using various media types, with different techniques and methods most suited. Advertisements are of great importance for any business activity as it attracts people to use the particular service. Most of the businessmen are using various different means of communication to reach people around the world and turn them into leads that can be further turned into potent customers. Visual content and design in advertising have a very great impact on the consumer, but it is language that helps people to identify a product and remember it. The research is done by means of descriptive qualitative method supported by questionnaire in data collection procedures. The results show that the perceptions of teenagers towards advertisements are the language used is simple and easy to remember and advertisements functions as reminder.

Feminism is a movement of struggle to fight against all forms of objectification of women. The main character in the Cigarette Girl novel is a very independent woman. It was analyzed through feminism approach if the literary work is related to a woman as one of the characters in the story. The objective of this research is to describe the resistances of woman’s struggle in Cigarette Girl Novel by Ratih Kumala. This reseacrh is analyzed by using descriptive qualitative method and used feminism approach to Beauvoir theory. The findings of this research are women can work, women can become intellectuals, and to transcend its boundaries. The result of this research that the women have same capability to survive in their lives as the men do therefore all the things that is point to them such as second sex, retarded, limited and weak go vague and even disappear because of the story which is told by the writer of the novel.
