Crime affects people’s decisions in carrying out economic activity. This study aims to analyze the influence of several crime typologies and non-crime variables on per capita Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) and identify the existence of spatial dependencies of per capita GRDP in Indonesia. The study used cross section data with the Spatial Lag Model (SLM). The results show that there is a negative spatial autocorrelation in per capita GRDP. Murder and labor affect GRDP per capita negatively. Meanwhile, fraud, embezzlement, and corruption; local government expenditure, life expectancy, domestic investment, and foreign investment affect per capita GRDP positively per capita GRDP. ------------------------------------- Kejahatan memengaruhi keputusan masyarakat melakukan kegiatan ekonomi.

This study aims to determine the effect of education, income per capita, age and knowledge on waste management in urban areas West Sumatera. This study uses secondary data in the form of cross section data of urban West Sumatera. Data obtained from BPS- Susenas West Sumatera. This study uses logistic regression analysis. The result of this study indicate that (1) education has not significant effect on waste management in urban areas West Sumatera (2) income per capita has not significant effect on waste management  in urban areas West Sumatera (3) age has not significant effect on waste management in urban areas West Sumatera (4) knowledge has a significant effect on waste management in urban areas West Sumatera

We characterize the marginal product of capital on a cross-section data of 88 economies over 1980–2013. The marginal product of capital is increasing on savings misallocation rate, measuring the fraction of savings unconverted into investment, on productivity growth and on financial openness. One country with a higher marginal product of capital makes more domestic investment, receives more foreign direct investment (FDI) and equities inflows, but accumulates more foreign debts and reserves. Moreover, it also has a higher financial development level.

Panel data is a combination of time series and cross section data. Panel data regression is used because in a time there is time researchers can’t perform analysis only by using time series data and cross section data only. This is because the number of factors used in the analysis phase, so that if the researcher only uses cross section data then the researcher can’t see the influence of factors that affect as well as on the growth of HDI that occurs from time to time in a certain period. Whereas it is quite possible that the conditions between one year and another will be different. Based on the model estimation, it is used with fixed effect model (FEM) approach. Modeling HDI with FEM in 2006-2015 period resulted in R2 value of 94.23%. The results showed that from 2006-2015 the ratio of student-teacher (RST), health facilities (HF), percentage of expenditure per capita by group of food (PPF) and regional per capita expenditure (PPE) have significant effect to HDI. Keywords: HDI, Panel, Fixed Effect Model

The purpose of this research is to examine factors that affect car demand in Java Island in 2012-2016. The research method used in this research is panel least square The data used in this research is panel data. The panel data consists of time series data (2012-2106) and cross section data (six province in Java Island, those are DKI Jakarta, Jawa Barat, Jawa Tengah, DI Yogyakarta, Jawa Timur, and Banten). Data were obtained from Central Bureau of Statistic Republic of Indonesia (BPS). Data analysis used is panel data analysis. The results showed that income per capita, population, and inflation have simultan effect on car demand in Java Island in 2012-2016. Per capita income has a positive and significant effect on car demand in Java Island in 2012-2016. Population has a positive and significant effect on car demand in Java Island in 2012-2016. Inflation has positive and insignificant effect on car demand in Java Island in 2012-2016.

AbstractThe spatial lag model (SLM) has been widely studied in the literature for spatialised data modeling in various disciplines such as geography, economics, demography, regional sciences, etc. This is an extension of the classical linear model that takes into account the proximity of spatial units in modeling. In this paper, we propose a Bayesian estimation of the functional spatial lag (FSLM) model. The Bayesian MCMC technique is used as a method of estimation for the parameters of the model. A simulation study is conducted in order to compare the results of the Bayesian functional spatial lag model with the functional spatial lag model and the functional linear model. As an illustration, the proposed Bayesian functional spatial lag model is used to establish a relationship between the unemployment rate and the curves of illiteracy rate observed in the 45 departments of Senegal.

This paper develops and illustrates the use of two methodologies to analyze the effect of unions on productivity in the public sector. Although the methodologies are applicable to a wide variety of public sector functions, the focus of the paper is on municipal libraries because of the availability of relevant data. The empirical analysis, which uses 1977 cross-section data on 260 libraries, suggests that collective bargaining coverage has not significantly affected productivity in municipal libraries.
