This study is directed towards the identification of activities to be conducted by women in processing, storage and preservation of pepper (capsicum species) in Southern Nigeria. Three (3) research questions and three (3) hypotheses guided the study. This study adopted survey research design, with 39 structured questionnaire items used for data collection. The questionnaire was faced validated by five experts in food science and technology and vocational teachers' education (Agric); three were knowledgeable in pepper processing. Cronbach alpha method was used to determine the internal consistency of the items with a co-efficient of 0.90. The sample was 700, made up of 630 home economists, 30 home economic teachers and 40 female teachers of Agriculture. The data was analyzed using weighted mean, standard deviation to answer research questions Analysis of variance (ANOVA) to test the hypothesis. It was discovered that 39 items were identified as responsibilities (duties) of homemakers in planning, processing, storing and preserving and marketing processed pepper in Southern Nigerian. Recommendations for effectiveness towards processing and preserving pepper for food security was made; among others.

To guide the study, three research questions were raised, while three hypotheses were formulated and tested. A 50-item and 30-item questionnaires for teachers and students respectively were developed and validated as instrument for data collection. These have reliability coefficient of 0.98 and 0.93 for teachers and students respectively. The data collected were analyzed using mean, standard deviation, t-test and correlation coefficient. The result revealed a mismatch between the perceived and expected roles of science teachers and students. The mean of 4.08 and standard deviation of 0.39 for teachers and a mean of 4.40 and standard deviation of 0 .43 for students have revealed that teachers are more mismatched than students. The result also revealed that, the perception of male and female teachers do not differ significantly (r = 0.08 for male, while r = 0.75 for females). Three research questions guided the study. A survey research design was adopted for the study. The population for the study is 31 comprising 23 automobile industries workshop craftsmen who are currently working in automobile companies in Enugu state, and eight (8) automobile trades’ technical teachers in technical colleges in Enugu state. A structured questionnaire titled Instrument for Integrating Automobile Mechatronics Sub-systems (IIAMS) was used for data collection. Two experts from the Department of Industrial Technical Education, University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and one expert from Anambra Motor Manufacturing Company (ANAMCO) face validated the instrument. The reliability co-efficient of the instrument was found to be 0.87 using Cronbach Alpha. Data collected were analyzed using mean and standard deviation for the research questions, while t-test was used to test the null hypotheses. The results of the study indicate that that automobile craftsmen find difficulties in servicing some automobile mechatronics sub-systems, while 16 mechatronics sub-systems were agreed on to be integrated into the automobile curriculum. It was recommended that these mechatronics sub-systems should be integrated into technical college curriculum and that technical colleges should partner with automobile industries for effective training of craftsmen. A sample of 129 companies, having an issue size greater than INR 100 crores, was examined and analyzed through IPO listing gains, weighted mean, standard deviation and coefficient of variation. The study shows that Retail, FMCG and Consumer Durables industry was underpriced the most while Engineering, Construction and Infrastructure industry issues were underpriced the least or overpriced. It was also found that Initial Public Offerings (IPOs) could be a window to make immediate gains in a very short period of time if thorough analysis of the issues and the market conditions is performed. This paper presents quantitative research results regarding a predictive model of pandemic disaster fear caused by the coronavirus disease (COVİD-19). The aim of this paper was to establish the level and impact of certain demographic and socioeconomic characteristics on pandemic disaster fear caused by the coronavirus (COVID-19). The research was conducted using a questionnaire that was provided and then collected online for 1226 respondents during May 2021. A closed, five-point Likert scale was used to create the structured questionnaire. The first section of the questionnaire included research questions about the participants’ socioeconomic and demographic characteristics, while the second section included issue questions about fear caused by COVID-19. The results of multivariate regression analyses showed the most important predictor for fear of COVID-19 to be gender, followed by age and education level. Furthermore, the results of t-tests showed statistically significant differences between men and women in terms of different aspects of pandemic disaster fear caused by the coronavirus disease. Our results have several significant public health implications. Women who were more educated and knowledgeable, married, and older, reported a greater fear of the outbreak at various levels. Decision-makers can use these findings to identify better strategic opportunities for pandemic disaster risk management.

The art of public speaking has been one of the commonly feared tasks for some people because they are not prepared and equipped with knowledge in rhetoric. The study was conducted to analyze the State of the Nation Address (SONA) delivered by the three presidents of the Philippines. Speech videos and speech manuscripts were analyzed using validated rubrics. A survey was also conducted to gather information on students’ perception on the study of rhetoric. Frequency, standard deviation, and weighted mean were used to analyze the rhetorical devices and canons of rhetoric employed in the speeches. It was found out that metaphor is a common rhetorical device used by the Presidents. The results show that the canons of rhetoric: invention, arrangement, style, memory and delivery were utilized in the speeches. Majority of the students of Rhetoric and Public Discourse, self-reported (or agreed) that the rhetorical discourse analysis of the SONA is beneficial to them as Rhetoric and Public Discourse students. The study concludes that the Presidents used the rhetorical elements and techniques to convince and influence the audience. It is recommended that the presidents (or their speech writers) should consider optimum use of the rhetorical elements and techniques to evoke the desired response from the audience.
